this is where the herbology classes take place. this class is taught by neville longbottom. also, students venture here for ingredients for potions for class and other less clandestine purposes.

the lake
the hogwarts lake is a large body of water, half a mile in diameter, located to the south of the castle. it is home to a giant squid, grindylows, and a colony of merpeople. it was used in the triwizard tournament many years ago. in 1997, dumbledore, former headmaster, was laid to rest in a tomb by the shores.
