I happen to think Raven's something of an acquired taste - like, I dunno, diet cola or something. I for one doubt I'd be attracted to some random girl on the street who could camouflage herself against a rock quarry or a battleship's hull just by stripping down.

She does have the excellent physique though. I have no idea how she maintains it, since all her free time is taken up sitting or levitating, neither of which is known for toning one's figure.

shes got that darkness though...

im trying not to be attracted to her mental beauty but its hard because for her mental and physical beauty kinda blend. her clothes are cool but they could be cooler. its really h the leotard she could improve... it's good she shows off her legs... as they're nice ones but...she's got great arms too and it's long sleeve... better yet why not fix the hair... she should have it like it is in the end of the end part three...or maybe a mini skirt over the leotard... whatever

Wow...that's really...nevermind. I really shouldn't...

Anyway, the fact that I tried to draw Raven is what made me an artist. She is quite pretty.

As for the question about her figure... You have to think. She does spend most of her time fighting, and not many good superheros are fat. (Thunder NOT a good example.)

That's one way to put it.

Besides the mental images gotten from that ( wink.gif ), what about if said person flew?

It's probably some combination of her diet (which as far as I know consists of tea and bubble gum) and her job (kicking ass).

On the subject of how Raven maintains her voluptuous shape, I'd also like to point out that not only is her free time spent meditating/reading/sitting, but also her crime-fighting isn't all that strenuous. Think about it - she uses telekinesis to stomp baddies, and she teleports/flies for transportation. Not much carb burning there. And tea and bubblegum would support malnutrition (hey, maybe that's why her skin is grey!) rather than healthy weight-loss. I don't think DC or WB would openly endorse anorexia, either.

Thunderdragon, I refuse to believe you are 38 years old. After 12 years of school (maybe) and a possibility of some time in college (slim), and then many years working a McJob, I find it hard to believe you still haven't mastered proper grammar (ah, who am I kidding? I see 'em every day).

You do know that "maintaining" is not the same as "losing", right? wink.gif

Anyway, telekinesis has to require some expenditure of energy, otherwise why would she get tired after a while?

I would assume it's more mental strain than physical.

I know from experience that lots of hard thinking doesn't do a darned thing for the waistline. But I'm sure her diet helps, though. I don't see her gorging herself on junk and snacks and lots of fattening whatnot.

Also, to clarify, I compared her to diet cola because I happen to prefer it to regular soda. It took a while to happen, but it did. Likewise, I wouldn't think I'd consider a girl with ash-grey skin "pretty," but I do now.

Has anyone already mentioned the part where she's half demon? I'm pretty sure there's some funky metabolism effect that goes along with that. Let's face it, demons are either absurdly fat, stickish, or muscular. And Trigon isn't fat or stickish.

And we're not talking about thinking in the real world (although, I do find that most people who do think a lot and are engaged in projects do tend to be rather skinny, if for no other reason than because they forget to eat. An oxymoran I know. Thinking too much and forgeting, lol. Long tangent...), the fictional world often puts a high caloric demand on mental powers. Just think Jean from X-Men. It was a huge strain for her to do the bigger stuff (until she went all fire-birdy). There are other examples of television, movies, and books I'm forgetting.

My opinion = She's not pretty. She's not ugly. She's unique and her personality is a challenge. Add that together and you either get something you like or violently oppose.

I'm not entirely certain why I'm letting myself get sucked into this...

... maybe I'm bored...

But for the record, the comic book variant of Raven mentions somewhere that she is more than capable in hand to hand combat (a trait the cartoon Raven occasionally shows as well).

Maintaining any adequate level of combat skill tends to lend itself to a thinner figure.

... usually...
