Mine would have to be Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk. Highly underrated tune from this album probably because Overdrive is right after it. Overdrive would be my 2nd favorite followed by Pow R. Toc H. IMO this is one of the greatest psychedelic albums of all time and one of the greatest debuts.

Syd was a wizard at lyrics, like Pete Brown was for Cream. all songs are great on this lp.

I picked Interstellar a while ago, but I think I might have changed my mind. its a really hard choice on this album because its all good, and nothing really stands out, but I think I might go with Flaming now...I just really like its mood

The problem I am having is, the track list on here isn't the same as it is on my album. My album has See Emily Play first, and that song isn't even on the list. What gives? |

This is the official track listing of Piper, but the only other thing I know of that you may have is the alternative version released with the 40th Anniversary, but See Emily Play is track 3 on that....maybe that helps?

I thought I would enter my track list from my copy of Piper at the Gates of Dawn. The version I have came out in 1967, the engineer is Peter Brown, and it was Produced by Norman Smith.
Side 1 1. See Emily Play 2. Pow R. Toch 3. Take up your Stethoscope and Walk 4. Lucifer Sam 5. Matilda Mother Side 2 1. The Scarecrow 2. The Gnome 3. Chapter 24 4. Interstellar Overdrive Like I said before, I bought this album when it first came out. I think I bought it at K-Mart, or a store like that. I will go through my albums if you want any more information on it. About three years ago I put all my old albums onto CD discs, and copied the back cover for the track list. I really don't desire to sell this album, but just thought it odd that the track lists are different. I noticed that in the early 80's when a friend of mine showed me his version of this album. Other then the track list, there isn't anything different about this album, the cover art is all the same on both. |

All those songs are on Piper except See Emily Play, but they are out of order and missing Astronomy Domine, Flaming, and Bike. Sorry I can't really help more, I'm not sure where the one you got came from. No one else really comes here anymore, but maybe someone else could help?
