* I second Harry Potter
* Lord of the Rings (well movie may be easier lol)

* Memoirs of a Geisha - A memoir about a very young japanese girl and her sister getting sold (because their parents can't afford the medical bills) into seperate houses; one will be possbily trained to become someone...where as her sister doesn't get such good of a fate

* Go Ask Alice - A journel/diary type where this young girl goes through some of the worst things possbile...

* Wild Seed - If you like X-Men, the people in this book also have extrodenary powers. A healer who has lived many years not can undo any damages of her clients but malipuate her own body inside and out...a strange evil man who seeks another of his kind....

* And mangs! Esperically Death Note

Harry Potter series
A Series of Unfortunate Events series
Everworld series
]The Five People You Meet In Heaven(it isn't religious)
For One More Day
Tuesdays with Morrie

The Client
The Firm
Pelican Brief

The red ones are by Mitch Albom so if you like one book of his youll probably like the others.
The blue ones are by John Grisham and all deal with legal drama.

Eragon series (the Eragon movie did not do the book justice D: ! ) The Last Unicorn (book is better then the movie, though the movie is pretty awesome. Still one of my favorites x] )

Any book by Terry Pratchett. Interesting Times, Hogfather, Maskerade, Good Omens are among my favorites. His stories are of the satire/humor genre and are great :3

Dean Koontz is another interesting writer and I enjoy his 'Odd Thomas' series (I think there are 3 books? Maybe 4.) 'By the Light of the Moon ' and 'Life Expectency' are two other books of his that I like.

The Calvin and Hobbes series I still enjoy though they are more comics then a novel....but still, they're good xP

I'll probably post more here later for you, but that's all that comes to mind now.

I also agree with the Harry Potter, Lord of the Ring series as well XD

Probably going to check out Wild Seed...sounds interesting o.O

In addition of the ones mentioned:

*The Farseer Trilogy* - Robin Hobb
*The LiveShip Traders* - Robin Hobb
*The Tawny Man* - Robin Hobb

BTW the LOTR books are better than the movies, but the movies would have to be the best representation of a book in movie format to date.

Pshhh books eh?

Well I second Eragon as the book is alot better than the movie representation.

Also try:
A Boy's Life by Rober McCammon (Really love this book)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
~~Those were a miniscule amount of the books I read and actually enjoyed in school~~~

Into the Darkness by Kevin McCarthy
Paperquake by Kathryn Reiss
Artemis Fowl Novels by by Eoin Colfer (It's very easy reading)
~~These are a few books I read that I would read again(I usually never ever read/watch something more than once on purpose)

Also what genre do ya like? That could maybe help some of us recommend books you'd really enjoy.

Memoirs of a Geisha was one of my FAVORITE books, the movie was eh, but ahh what a great book i think i've read it about 3 times =D

I love harry potter!! i've read every book and watched all the movies that came out bhwahah.. but i hate the ending of the last book (it was too happy.. i don't like Ginny for some reason)

ooh.. i've read both The five people you meet in heaven and Tuesdays with morrie, they were good, but i liked the five people you meet in heaven more ;x they're sad yet meaningful

Huckleberry Finn < hehe i read that last year in my english class

Is the Rule of Four a good book? cause i heard its almost like The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown.. i bought the book years ago but i never read it :x hmm i'll check it out :D

I'll check out the books that you guys have mentioned ;D thanks for the recommendations

--Has anyone ever read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold? or her other novel, Lucky? they're really good books and The Lovely Bones is going to be a motion picture soon.. i can't wait !

--Angels and Demons by Dan Brown (This book is better than The Da Vinci Code < in my opinion ;3) and all his other novels are great too like Deception Point and Digital Fortress

Da Vinci code is ok, quite nice actually.

Harry Potter, well reading the book is much more enjoyable than the movie. Maybe it's cause i already know what will happen and seeing them cut away from parts make me feel dissapointed lol.

His Dark Materials (Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, and Amber Spyglass)
Meh they cut the last few chapters of the golden compass in the first movie. I have no idea how they are gonna continue with this 1 on the second movie. But I'm very sure there is gonna be a second and eventually 3rd.
Quite a nice series I would say, but if your a Christian, you might find it a LITTLE unappealing, since it bashes churches A LITTLE XD. I won't give any other spoilers for now :P.

Eragon. The book is nice, the movie sucked for me :/. Doesn't even follow the book. Frankly, I didn't even finish watching the movie, it's just that bad for me :(.
