:: Character Information ::
Name: David Ethan Pierce
Nicknames: Davey, Dave
Canon or OC: OC
Age: 25
Occupation: Head of Archiving Resourches at a major law firm/student (as he is still pursing his PhD in Folklore and Mythology)
Current Location New York City

Character Type: Psych [two way psychometry]
User Member Title: All That's [k n o w n]

Appearance: Davey’s that sort of above average looking guy that has to potential to be devastatingly good looking, but as David doesn’t really care, he’s just all right. He’s tall, formerly of the freakishly tall persuasion as he went through his growth spurts early and in rapid succession. Now, he stands at the well above average 6’2. He’s begun to gain weight in the form of muscle over the past few years and he’s becoming less lanky looking. His skin is that healthy pinkish shade of Caucasian pale. He tends to burn at the beginning of summer but eventually just tans. In spring a few freckles begin to sprout across his nose.

If you can pin down, David’s exact hair color then props to you because John isn’t sure about it. The color ‘blond’ was hesitantly checked on his photo I.D. although he wonders about the truth in that. It’s a dirty hay blond color with natural lowlights of dark brown. It’s definitely a little bit curly and tends to be sticking up a little bit at all times. Partially because like most people with curly hair it tends to not lie flat under any circumstances and because he runs his hands through it a lot. He’s toyed with the idea of growing it out longer all the time but he’s never actually done it.

In contrast to his wishy-washy hair color, Davey’s eyebrows have decided to be brown and nothing but brown. His eyes are deep set under his brows. They’re an icy blue color that people tend to pay a lot of money for in colored contacts to get. He's far-sighted as well and occasionally can be seen wearing his delisciously geeky glasses, but more often than not he just moves the text farther away from his face. His nose slops down gently. His lips are full and pouty and horrifyingly enough a light shade of pink that would be fine if he was female.

David's style could best be described as uhm, well, it couldn’t be actually, as David doesn’t have a style. Casually (read: when not at work) he wears jeans and T-shirts, maybe the occasional polo, but definitely jeans and T-shirts. Frankly, you could throw his entire wardrobe on the floor and make him pick out his outfit with his eyes closed and it would match. When at work, he dresses accordingly but there is still nothing special about it.

Personality: David is loud and obnoxious. Oh my God, that’s hilarious. Actually, David’s anything but loud and as for obnoxious only occasionally. David’s shy, the nervous shy type so at the very least he doesn’t come off as standoffish at worst he come off as someone a step away from paranoia. He’s introverted, but extremely polite. “Yes, ma’am,” “no, sir,” are integral parts of his vocabulary as the words 'cool' are to anyone else. “Sweet, polite kid,” as they like to say.

He’s a bit too passive aggressive for his own good. He doesn’t stand up for himself when he should instead getting pulled into things that he doesn’t always want to do or into situations that he didn’t have to be in. He loathes himself for it and is constantly trying to convince himself that needs to grow a backbone, but it’s so much easier not to rock the boat.

If you manage to pull him out of his shell, which can take a good deal of work, he’s quite a different person. He still tends to not be the biggest talker of the group, but he does have opinions and feelings, which he can voice with some success when surrounded by those he trusts. He has a way with words that manifests itself better in writing than in speech, but now and then flashes of it can be easily seen when he manages a witty comment or a fine bit of word play.

He’s bright and was up until high school and the advent of harder classes like AP one of those kids who could sleep through school and make straight A’s. He applies himself to his work in all areas and tries to make the best of it. There isn’t much else for him to do anyway is there?

One thing that David does find himself clinging to and one of things that he can easily defend under any circumstances is his sense of independence. He’s always had to sort of go his own way, and he finds any offer of help, no matter how well intentioned, to be something of an insult to him. He can handle it no matter what it is.

History: His mother, Vivienne fell in love with her first boyfriend. He was strong, but sweet and they were practically soulmates, but Vivienne who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks was looking for someone who could provide a little more stability to her life, and when Alex announced his plans to join the military, Viv used it as an excuse to break up with him.

While she was working as a waitress, she met Allen Pierce, an almost thirty-year-old lawyer . . . with a trust fund. They began to date and eventually wed. They lived in Washington, D.C. and eventually would welcome two children into the world, David and then his young sister, Taryn.

Both Vivienne and Allen had lived in New York for several years before Allen’s job transferred him to D.C. The two both began to miss the Big City after a while, and talked about moving back or, at least, close to it.

The idea became even more attractive when David began to exhibit strange . . . ness around the time he was eight. He knew things that no one had told him so they moved him to the upscale exclusive neighborhood in New Jersey. Naturally shy and withdrawn, David didn’t take well to the move.

By the time he was ten, David’s powers had grown substantially and he was having trouble in school because of them. His parents, after consulting several specialists, and eventually one of them told them the truth. They weren’t entirely sure if they believed it but for the first time, they had found something that explained something about their son.

They eventually had to pull him out of school because of his powers and he was home-schooled which didn’t help his social skills any. Bright, he graduated from high school two and a half years early and he started university double majoring in Library Science and history. He went on to get his masters in history, and he was about to accept an offer from UCLA, but his father was diagnosed with cancer and David didn’t feel he could move away instead he got an archiving job.

RP SAMPLE
The stage was dark and this was the coolest that it would be up there. Despite the air conditioning blasting from the vents, sweat prickled at her brow. Nerves. Alize brushed a lock of hair out of her eyes and adjusted her fingers on the microphone. She took a deep breath and waited. The lights came up blue and moody illuminating the entire stage and the spotlight tinted slightly cooler pounded down on her.

She studied the floor, her pulse feeling like a mere blur underneath her skin. For a moment, she thought she might pass out. She’d never done it before but she figured if there was feeling before unconsciousness kicked in. It would be that feeling. However from somewhere that seemed very far away, she heard the click of drum sticks as Andy called out the beat to the song. The bass rolled in slow and locomotive before being overtaken by the two guitars two measures later. The drums, understated but steady, thundered.

She took a deep breath before leaning forward into the microphone and despite her nerves, her voice was steady and strong. “Can I get a song that isn’t fake, how about a melody that doesn’t hesitate, to tell the truth, to describe how I’m actually feeling inside?”

The crowd screamed their approval. “It’s a bit more complicated than we were just meant to be, it’s a bit more raw than rehashed romantic fantasy.” Her crystal clear voice spun out, pulling the word out to last as the drums thundered louder. Confident now, Alize pulled the microphone off the stand and start. “Is it that hard to find something real?”

The crowd yelled their approval and danced as Alize trod the boards. Trent, Holly, and Ben’s voice crowded the speakers harmonizing behind her own during the chorus before fading away to let her take over the verse. “This is far from a fairy tale, but it ain’t no tragedy.”

She looked down and the lyrics almost froze on her lips. It was, Alize knew, impossible to actually see faces down in the crowd. General movement but the lights on stage and the lack of lights in the house made that impossible, but still she was willing to swear that staring up from her was her boyfriend. The one that disappeared months ago.
