For days Morganus sat there, his body mending, his energy returning and yet he knew that his mind could never been mended. He glanced to his right at the body of a young lycan, a unfortunate pup who had wandered a little too far from the walls of Anur. Now it was nothing more than a dry pile of flesh and bone. But that said the pups curse now ran through the mage's blood, that curse now tore his mind apart, he was fighting back feral urges, he was fighting back the rage he felt towards the mortals of this world. He was trying to fight against Suldarius who had been vocal ever since his departure from Ascantha, scolding him, taunting him, mocking him and his failures.
Morganus and the silver throne now sat at the edge of the ritualistic platform in the deepest part of the once great temple. The colors of his eyes shifted between a deep red which could be compared to the color of blood, a lovely and bright sapphire coloring and his natural dark emerald color. They showed that his soul was now at war with itself, they showed that he was truly beginning to dive deeper into madness and yet he still wore a smile on his face.
"How does it feel mutt? Having you mind torn to shreds? Honestly an abomination such as yourself deserves much worse."
"It feels marvelous Suldarius, no more shackles, no more caring about the pointless bickering of the rats that infest this world. Let say we invite your dark blooded peons to a party celebrating our victory over order?"
"Whatever is left that is."
"Come on friend that is not the way a lord should act. Besides I gained the knowledge of four of the lords, remaking a gate is a simple task."
"Four?"
"I thought we all agreed that the amethyst was the equivalent of a turd."
"I think a turd has more intelligence then that lard."
"I believe we compromised on the matter at that point. But all of this said there is a old companion of mine I wish to bring to the party."
Morganus then reached to his right and grasped his staff which had been resting against the broken throne. The bringing it around in front of him he slammed its tip down onto the ground the thud from the impact echoing through the empty halls of the citadel. The floor before him then became engulfed in a twisting darkness as Morganus prepared to link two worlds together and summon forth a friend of his to this world.
But what came forth from the portal was not what he was expecting. Fours beings, all with power that rivaled his own. One was just a black mass of dark energy, he shuddered feeling the malice and blood lust seeming to drip from the beast. Another was a silver knight which let off a crtain warmth though it looked upon him as if he was nothing. Then there was the broken black knight who stayed closest to its master, sparks of eletricity faling from its armor as it stared down the beggar. Lastly there was a ragged old man garbed in grey robes, he meant to only summon him and to be honest the summoning of the three extras was troubling.
"Nox... it is nice to see you."
The old man smiled as he slowly walked towards Morganus, his walking stick clicking each time it touched the ground, his ragged hair seeming to blow in a none existent breeze, his dead silver eyes seeming to stare a hole through the dark mage. But then he stopped directly in front of Morganus and bowed his head as he smiled gently at the man.
"It is a pleasure to see you old friend, may I ask what the occasion is?" said Nox after raising his head so that he could stare into the human's eyes. Morganus was normally composed but now he appeared cornered, something he rarely seemed outside of his meetings with the Aesir. Morganus though still forced a smile before bowing his head in response to Nox's gesture.
"I am planning something big and your creations could help my..."
"You plan on using us, worm?" came a voice from the darkness which created one of the beings infront of him. the tone of the voice was drenched in venom and yet Morganus could swear he heard chuckling within the darkness. Was the creature laughing at him, was this a game to it? He was about to stand and say something but a long black ethereal tentacle burst forth from the darkness and through his body. Morganus's glared at the darkness as he gripped the thrones arm rests tightly, he was obvious at a disadvantage here.
" Know your place worm, I am above you squishy mortals, I use you as my amusement, your blood is my wine, your flesh is mine to tear asunder, your screams are my pleasure, your fear is my amusement. But I must thank you for bringing me to this world of toys, it was getting dull killing my brethren."
"Know your place Carnage, The Creator came to see this mortal and you have no right to interfere until commanded." Now it was apparently the broken armor speaking, its words seemed harsh, it obviously did not like the dark mass. Or rather it seemed to take its job too seriously, though something was odd for the creature seemed saddened, broken. Morganus then looked at the silver knight, it had yet to speak and seemed to show no interest in the conversation.
"It is fine Noir, Carnage is just having a hard time containing his excitement. It is too be expect it has been a long time since even I have been in this realm, so many interesting things," said Nox as he glancd over his shoulder at Noir before reaching up and swatting Carnage's tentacle away from Morganus, the tentacle just vanishing into thin air when his made contact. Then he turned his attention back to Morganus before taking a step back and offering a hand to the dark mage."I apologize for Carnage, he is still but a child."
Morganus looked at the old man's wrinkled hand for a moment before standing. As he towered over the hunched old man Morganus took his hand and shook it. Nox, the creator of the abyssal golems and a god in his own realm, Morganus was already beginning to question his own judgement.
"It is fine I almost did something foolish."
Nox only grinned, his face unchanging since he had arrived, Morganus knew he was here for his own reasons, no knowing those reasons was frightening but he had no choice. The Aesir had proven to him that he could not do it all on his own and now he was forced to call in the only man he knew that had a army at his beck and call. Morganus pulled his hand back as soon as Nox laxed his grasp then once again he sat down on the throne.
"I need you help cleansing this world of a infestation, I have sat by for too long and watched these vermin eat the world down to its core. I want a culling to though I have to accept that I am only one m..."
Morganus was interrupted by a insane laughter which could of only come from Carnage. Morganus glance at the cloud and took note of what appeared to be a humanoid shape within it, it appeared the being was grasping his head while laughing, it was obvious that the thing had mental issues though Morganus could not condemn it for those reasons.
" If you wanted genocide you could of just asked my friend, I would of done it without a second thought. Think of the terror, the fields of blood, the screams of the dying. Yes, yes it will be truly exquisite."
" Bite your tongue filth, you have no right to act such a way upon the people of this world."
" I don't believe you have a say in the matter Seraph, for all you know the people of this world have it coming to them."
Then there was silence, the silver knight Seraph having no way to respond to it for he knew that he really knew nothing of the mortals of this realm. he would have to observe and act accordingly unless Nox commanded him otherwise. Nox seemed to be taking a interest in their reactions, he enjoyed seeing his creations develop, he enjoyed seeing their flaws so that the next generation could be born without them. Thus in the end he could only smile and turn his attention back to Morganus.
"You have peaked my interest Morganus, I will lend you my power for your righteous endeavor."
Morganus looked at Nox and honestly grinned for the first time since the man had arrived. He then extended his hand to Nox before impaling its palm with a long needle of dark energy.
"To our partnership then."
Nox didn't hesitate, immediately reaching out and grasping Morganus's hand causing the needle to pierce his palm as well. As the blood of the two mixed and dripped to the floor between them they both smiled. They knew not what the future would hold but it would be interesting all the same.
"Now then Carnage why do you go make this place more hospitable the chilly atmosphere is getting to me."
"My pleasure."
Carnage then vanished, reappearing seconds later atop the mile high glacier. One could hear his laughter echoing throughout the empty field, it has been decades since he could truely stretch his powers to the limit and what better way then simply making the entire glacier disappear. And that is exactly what he did, the glacier vanished becoming pure magical energy which was then absorbed by the darkness that was Carnage, it was then any psychic within miles of him could sens him with ease, his body was expelling raw magical energy almost unable to sustain all of it within his current form. With the vanishing of the glacier the lava which had been sealed away once again began to flow freely quickly drowning the land beneath its heat.
But that was none of Carnage's concern, he needed to find a release, he needed to get rid of it before it tore his body apart. Thus he released it back down upon the temple that he now stood upon, enchanting the outer walls of the temple with water magic, it took a few minutes before the results could be seen but soon water seemed to flow freely from the walls of the temple, quenching the lava which was uncovered with the removal of the glacier.
" Now if that isn't a beautiful sight." said Carnage as he peered down upon the lava which had been released and the many destroyed buildings, if one could see his dark face they would see a smile that would chill the bones of even the greatest warriors. Carnage loved the new look of the land, he loved the raw destruction, he loved the red glow which now coated the area. Yes this was much better then a slab of ice.
