I finally cracked it at the multitude of spybots that have been filling the online user list. Most of them come from China, more specifically the chinese government search engine Baidu.
I've IP banned a lot of them, I made sure no members would get caught up in it, well no active members. People who did get caught were spambots we banned years ago. Luthe if you spot any more then take the first part of their IP it should look like: 180.76.5. Don't worry about the last number, we want general banning for all the bots. For the rest of you, if you see the online user area clogged with guests who don't move, then PM luthe or I and we'll take a look. ONLY LUTHE AND I CAN SEE IP so don't bother saying "how do I IP?" EDIT: GAH INVISIONFREE UPDATE YOUR GODDAMN IP BAN SETTINGS!!! This will now be a war of attrition. |

Thaaat explains it. I've been paranoid-ly watching the guests stare at the board index for a while... heh.
Also, on the topic of invisionfree, it's looking like they've got the board directory up and working again. Currently, we're #6 in the rpg section. No idea whether or not that's helpful information, but I figured I'd throw it out there. |

I've noticed them for a while, never in huge numbers until now. Got to the point where we had 100 on at one point. I called shenanigans and cracked it.
