So, it'll be Amber vs Raghnall.
We'll both run at post count of 700.
Amber's 2nd alchemy is wind.
Her 2ndary is Druid.
She is an archer, and she doesn't carry a shield. She does carry a short sword.
She also carries a Fast and a Strength rings.

OOC:
Raghnall will be using the items/traits/abilities described in my signature, except that his Halberd is now a reskinned Berserker Spear.

IC:

Small streams like the one Raghnall had stopped at were rare back in Dark World. Luckily this was no such place. This land was alive and green, and it refreshed him to be here. He was still in his lycan form as dusk began to move over the land and the darkness that accompanied nightfall crept into the area. He was in a clearing, thought the trees started again not to far off. The stream was no more then one or two feet deep, and about six or 7 feet wide. It was fresh, clear water; he enjoyed the taste of it as he knelt down and took a quick drink, cupping his hands and bringing them up to his mouth. The way it washed over the smooth stones beneath it brought to him a certain amount of peace.

He closed his eyes, standing again, and took a deep breathe of fresh air...

His eyes snapped open. He wasn't alone. Another of his kind was here. He twisted his shield and halberd off of his back, ears twitching. Something was off...

She has had a horrible day. Rogue lycans were a rare occurrence, but they were the reason Amber could become a six foot nine werewolf with black fur and dark green eyes. However, due to a different stray lycan she was alive and not someone's dinner.
She very much preferred her human form though. Luckily, not all lycans were smart, especially the stray ones, just like not all people were equally bright.

Running into another rogue, or maybe even the same one she has ran into once before, Amber's mood darkened. Except that this time she wasn't as helpless, and the commotion (couldn't even call it a battle) was over fast enough. One could always tell if their kind was around, so this time she had no surprises. And an unarmed attacker against her didn't have a chance.

Her mood was darker still as she crept towards the edge of the tree line overlooking the clearing. The quiet murmur of the stream was providing all the background noise she needed. But this one seemed different. Her eyes narrowed on the wolf. Would he cause her trouble? She needed to be on her way, and it was getting dark. Making a wide loop around him would be a waste of time, and Amber didn't exactly want to waltz through the clearing in front of him.

He straightened, and then a shield and a - halberd was it? - were on the ready. Amber involuntarily arched an eyebrow and swallowed. He was huge compared to the other lycan, and already smarter. She was not going to take chances. Pressing her back against the tree, she pulled the string back and aimed the pointy end of the Assault Bolt at her potential enemy. If he as much as showed any interest in her direction, she would not hesitate to shoot.

And there it was. His trained combat ear could hear the tension of a string being pulled back. His other senses proved it. He lowered himself, only his eyes over the shield, as well as the halberd he held above it.

He would like to see an archer get passed his defenses.

He took a few steps towards his opponent, picking up speed. He suddenly started jumping from the left to the right as he approached her. It would throw an archer off.

Suddenly, he let his halberd fly, a small bit of blood on the staff from his palm.

It was intended to impale her, although he did have a backup plan if that didn't work. He quickly drew his sword going around the tree she would have ducked behind to avoid the thrown weapon.

Amber almost held her breath, watching him. He moved like a trainer worrier, ducking behind his defences the moment she aimed at him. Wolves had good ears and good nose. He could probably easily pick up her scent, although there was no wind. She thought of relaxing and lowering her weapon, telling him that she did not intend on harming him and just wanted to get by, but before she got to do that, the stranger moved aggresively towards her. Her bolt's pointy end never left him, although it was tough to aim for a kill. Next thing she knew a frigging halberd was flying directly at her, a bit too dead-on for her liking.

Amber ducked low next to the tree that she was leaning against, almost to the very ground, allowing the weapon to slash through the bark and send woodchips flying, all above her head. The guy wasn't letting off. She let her bolt fly instantaneously, aimed to intercept him on his path. She wasn't going to let him corner her.

Holy crap, she thought. She needed to get the hell out of his range. Being slashed to pieces by a sword wasn't on her agenda tonight. Before he could reach her, Amber dashed in the opposite direction towards the next tree. Mid jump, she gave herself a boost by condensing air and then using it as a spring to shoot her towards some of the higher branches. Pressing herself against the trunk, she replaced the bolt and aimed, setting it free again.

Defend now, talk later.

Raghnall darted into the trees as well, turning his shield sideways. When she fires the arrow, he took a knee and tilted his shield, deflecting it to the side. Suddenly, the halberd came to life, almost as if it were being held by a dark spirit.

"Kill her."

Raghnalls words seemed to spring it into action. Looking like it was being held by shadows, it moved up to the tree behind Raghnall's opponent. The spirit swung the axe end sideways, as if to cleave the girl in half.

Hopefully it would at least knock her down from the tree. Raghnall couldn't do much unless she was on the ground. Just to be safe, he casted yet another spell.

Darkness began to pour out from the seams of his armor, quickly covering the floor and rising up, obscuring the archer's vision, and giving Raghnall a little room to move without being shot at, hopefully.

She didn't miss, but that blasted shield of his was doing a decent job. She wasn't going to hit him this way, even from a higher ground, so long as he knew where she was. Unfortunately, Amber wasn't as skilled at tree swinging as she hoped, so she'd be slower. As a result, her weapon was on her back, proving useless for the moment.

Brunette squatted down to take a look around. Maybe he'd leave her alone if she stay put. She paid mild attention to her opponent to ensure that no other heavy duty weapons were hurled at her. It was just her luck that she caught something below her from the corner of her eye, and before she knew it, Amber rolled, the halberd catching but a lock of her hair. She then was running down the branch, glaring at the darkness menacing below. He was in there, she could feel it, and he just ruined her haircut.

She jumped, aware of the fact that the weapon was still behind her. Catching onto the branch, she swung forwards, scratching her palms, and with a help of a wind gust landed herself on a bigger branch, hugging the trunk momentarily for stability. Two blades of air rushed through the higher tree branches, many of them snapping off and raining down into the darkness. This was meant to get his attention.

"Call it off," she yelled down. Her short sword was on the ready. If the weapon continued to follow her, it would rain more than leaves and woodchips.

Did she really think a few gusts of wind would scare him off?

The halberd followed her down to where she had gone too, coming up behind her yet again. This time the spirit wielding it went for a straight thrust that would run her through if it landed.

"Not a chance."
He spoke as he reached behind him and drew his giant cleaver. Holding the sword low, he readjusted his shield and quickly charged the girl, darkness moving along with him. It even reached out to cover his opponent, hopefully scarring her back into the halberd.

If not, he'd be on her with his heavy cleaver in a moment.

He wasn't backing down. What the heck was his problem. Amber only pulled a weapon on him in self defense, in case he was a nutcase just like her previous opponent. In return she ended up with a well trained worrier on her hands, and the one that was using dark magic at that.

Shit

She caught a glimpse of halberd as it continued to follow her, this time preparing to take a good stab at her. But the image of the weapon began to fade as the darkness from her enemy began to envelope Amber. This wasn't good. She couldn't see as well.

Attacking a weapon floating in mid air seemed like a very stupid thing to do, but Amber figured weapon couldn't possibly be any smarter than a person. She charged it, staying on the branch and off the ground. Flipping her short sword in her hand so the tip was now at her elbow, she used her forearm to parry the weapon and slide past it, catching a glimpse of daylight. But it was being eaten away by the darkness just as well, which meant that the attacker was fast on her heels.

"Just so we're clear - you attacked me first."

Higher up the tree she went, using wind to give her boosts to travel faster. Once Amber cleared the darkness, she flipped in mid air, landed on the branch, and opened her water jug. Without a noise the water rushed out, and split into many droplets. 3 liters turned into a wall of razor-sharp pieces of ice. With great speed Amber pushed them at her attacker, but not so bluntly. She had little time, but this time Amber would make sure that they hit their mark.

Raghnall quickly took a knee and raised the shield above his head, covering his entire body from the aggressive icicles. His halberd returned to him, it's attacking time over. It went strait to his back, as he now held a large cleaver in his hands.

When she blocked the tip of it, the second spell Raghnall had put on it activated, which was Disease. It traveled across her blade and into her forearm, poisoning her.

Higher into the trees she went, so he would have to either follow her (where his shield would become a hindrance), or just make it a little more of a level playing field (literally).

His eye's became bloodshot and his muscles began to bulk out as two effects activated at once. His halberd pumped him full of Dark Magic, increasing his strength exponentially. To add the the effect, he began to grow until he was standing at about 15' tall. Suddenly his gigantic cleaver looked about normal on him, and his huge 5' wide shield did as well. He wasted no time in bringing his cleaver across the trees in front of him. He began to swing wildly, bringing down all the tree's in the area with an impressive show of physical force. If she wanted to hide in trees, he'd just bring the whole forest down.
