Mr. Captain Man Sir was pacing. Yes, he was pacing. Lucian was called over to help Val and, of course, being the good captain he was, he came to help his first mate. But man... This waiting. Not his thing. He had been cooped up, AVOIDED fights because of the refugees still with them and he was going stir crazy.
Of course, though. Lucian was a master of self control. There was no way he would-- "Alright! Let's go! Val's late. We're gonna waltz right on in there whether he likes it or not."
The sudden call for preparation caught everyone on the ship off guard. Lucian walked in a few small circles while the rest of the crew coming with him sped up the pace. They were taking there time because, well, when Val said he would do something then Val certainly would do it. It wasn't the first time Lucian got impatient though and it wouldn't be the last. Captain's orders...
"Everyone ready?" Lucian inspected the small group going with him. "Knowing our dearly missed first mate... he's gotten himself into more than he could handle. That's why he called us here. If I had to guess,"
He paused and looked to North Cliff and then returned his attention to his crew. "That place is FULL of foul pirates of all sorts. Just the kind of people he don't want around. Now! We will save any innocents, stop the cruelties. We do this in our name. The Golden Line!"
There was a momentary silence and a few mutters, "I thought it was the Golden Stole?..." "Golden Sash?" Confused looks made Lucian sigh and shake his head. "We need to pick a name..."

"Haha!" Now this is what I was waiting for.
With a glint in his eyes, Lucky Jack spotted his captain already getting his first kill.
Damn! He already got one. I guess I better step it up a notch.
Fighting his way to Lucian, Jack blocked a slash from the left, dogded to the right, jumped over a body and leaped from the rigging to where he last saw the young captain. But when he got there, the captain was already gone. Feeling his rugged hair blowing in the summoned wind, he spotted the youth already on the docks trying to clear a pathway for the rest of the crew to follow.
Not liking the idea of being left behind, the sergeant followed suit and soared into the air towards a pair of ruffians. He landed square on the shoulders of one of them and heard a loud scream as he felt a sickening crack under his feet.
"Whoopsies. Didn' meanta do that."
Deciding to end the poor man's misery, Jack slid his blade across the ruffian's throat and roll out of the way of the blood and the oncoming strike of his victim's partner. Lady Fortune must be on his side today, because the spray of human debris had gotten into the eye (all that was left of the other eye was a patch of skin) of Lucky Jacks next opponent.
Not letting this opportunity pass him by, his saber came down roughly between the neck and left shoulder of the one eyed man. Jack moved quickly out of the way of the blood once more. He did this because he hated cleaning the stuff off of his clothing. Just cleaning it off his saber was already a bother to him, but his clothes as well? He barely showered as it was, he didn't need to make it worse by adding decomposing bodily fluids to the mix.
Seeing fallen bodies surrounding him, Jack sped up to the side of his captain.
"'Oy! What's the hurry? I said I was goin' wit' yuh 'member?" Lucky Jack was only slightly irritated at his superior, but that was to be expected. "Anyways, how many yuh got so far? I got two~"
Jack couldn't help but make a toothy grin while he waited for Lucian's answer.

Boom and then silence. He saw the guy running at them, heard the noise of all the pirates around them. That's when he realized his eyes were closed and he was on his butt. That wasn't the plan... Neither was what he saw when his eyes opened. Surrounded... Him and Jack, a big crater, and a TON of pirates.
He slowly got to his feet. "Hey now, fellas... No need for any violence here, you know. I just... really need to go to the bathroom?"
It wasn't a convincing lie... but it got a few snickers in the crowd. That was something, at least. The snickers ended when a Lucian took a few steps toward the edge of the circle of pirates. "Anyway, guys, I need to go. Gotta save my first mate and all, you know? So, I'd appreciate it if you just..."
about ten feet from the edge of the circle, one of the pirates through a throwing knife at the young captain. Catching it, he twirled around on a heel. "Kay... That wasn't nice."
As he planted both feet back onto the ground he threw the knife back with precision and speed the attacker lacked. It planted itself into his throat. "That's three, Jack, let's go."
A knife appeared in one hand and small pellets in the other as he rushed at the big captain looking man. He was in the way. They were all in the way.

Getting back up after the blast, the boarding sergeant brushed the dust off of himself and shook the deadening silence out of his ears.
That was unnecessary.
"Crazy fuckers ain' they." Jack scoffed, looking at the depression that was made by one idiotic kamikaze.
Using his foot to toss up his saber, Lucky Jack snatched it up out of the air and then saluted, fencing style, in an act of provocation. He wasn't expecting much out of these punks, but he might as well have some fun while he can, right?
It was at this moment that a flicker of steel went passed, and he saw Lucian do a little ballerina spin and catch the knife that was aimed at him. Jack wasn't impressed at all, he had seen his captain perform much more amazing feats then this. With the flick of the wrist, the said knife was out of the young captain's hands and sticking into its owner's jugular.
"That's three, Jack, let's go."
Damn, one more than me. Oh well, there are still plenty to go around.
Completely surrounded by pirates, two stepped out in front of the rest, one of them making an 'I'm going to kill you' gesture towards Jack. He had an obnoxiously large mallet, holding it as if he was compensating for something. Other than that, the pirate looked like he could handle himself, which was no problem for the boarding sergeant of the Golden Line.
"Got a turd stuck in yer throat er somethin'?" Jack couldn't help himself.

The man moved quickly, almost faster than Jack could comprehend. He was definitely compensating for something with that huge baton. Jack did not feel like getting whacked with the gurgling pirate's metaphorical dick.
Trying the best that he could to block/dodge the enormous blunt object, Lucky Jack brought his saber up into a guard and leaped to the left. Time slowed to a crawl. The blade couldn't stop it, the hammer just kept on going, straight for Jack's face. It was only a painful hangnail's width from his cheek, when a bright flash overwhelmed his sight.
This is going to hurt.
There was a faint sound of dripping water in his ears.
BOOM!
The immediate area was covered in smoke and the smell of gunpowder. In the spot that Jack had been standing not seconds before, a stray cannonball had hit the ground, flinging Jack out of the way of his impending doom and leaving his opponent to a yet unknown fate.
Getting up, Lucky Jack took a brief moment to check himself. Other than an annoying ring in his right ear and a few scrapes and bruises, he was doing pretty good, given that he was about to eat a face full of mallet not too long ago. He could still hear the battle going on around him through his left ear, so he knew that there was still some fighting to do.
The smoke started to clear gradually and with it Jack saw that, as if by magic, he was only a few strides away from a group of pirates that had been surrounding him and his captain. Somehow they had gotten turned around and given Jack an opportunity to strike.
Sneaking up to the closest pirate, Jack tapped him on the shoulder, and as soon as he turned around, punched him in the face with the bell of his saber.
"Oogah boogah!"
Using the falling pirate as a distraction, Jack then slashed at the other two pirates, one at the neck and the other in the gut.
After his surprise attack, Jack dashed away from the scene, avoiding the blood that was shed and headed in the direction that he felt was towards Lucian.

There was water. That is all to it. That is all that Jacob could see, hear, feel, taste. He was completely surrounded by it. It pounded at him with a barrage of blows.
Drip drop
All of a sudden the water stopped moving. It began to swirl around him, producing a bubble. Dead bodies and random pieces of broken ship orbited the the bubble, caught up in the current that it was making. Reaching maximum centrifugal force, the ball of water shot out of the ocean. This all happened in a matter of seconds after the wave hit.
Contained in the bubble floating in the air, Jack was on the fringes of consciousness. As if lead by his own subconscious mind, the orb slowly fell, gliding to the spot where the once First Mate used to be. Setting itself opposite of Lucian, the globe of liquid remained for a few moments. Just then, it popped, all of the water flying upwards, and then back down like rain fall.
Amongst the waterfall stood Jack, staring at the sword that had been Valenar's. Memories flooded his mind, not unlike the wave that had just hit him. Memories of their many duels. Memories of the petty arguments that they had. Memories of their companionship.
Some how he had know what had happened to his comrade. But it was not until this moment, the moment that he was gone, that what Jacob had truly felt about Val finally sunk in.
Hidden within the falling water, tears flowed forth from the eyes of the man they called "Lucky".
