Title: Be vewy vewy quiet
Description: Open to all
Cavada - June 13, 2008 02:57 PM (GMT)
(OoC: Just like the title in the RP request area, the first post with my new character Isk. As it says above, though me and Kenji will probably take up the first while of this thread, it is open to all to hop in whenever they like, cause I don't do hardly any closed RP threads.)
The next thing out of Tabor had just wandered into town. The trollkin Isk Xylanous, though a troll subspecies was not even five feet tall and stood easily a foot shorter than all the others in the town. He made up for this by looking like a very small troll, and thus scaring anyone who wandered to near to him or gave him the wrong look, a good view of his lower cannines.
It was bright out at this time so Isk had another of those light headaches, but he'd figured coming into town at night would just frighten the residents out of their wits so he'd come in broad daylight. Living up to his time with the Storm Bull he headed straight for the bar once in the city. He'd been wandering for weeks in this unknown land, and the entire time had been listening to what was going on.
The trollkin knew a few things that went with his mission. For instance he knew there were alot of demons out there somewhere, in huger numbers than he had ever heard. He determined that this area must be the heart of the infestation and immediatly attributed his arrival here to the intervention of Storm Bull who must've wanted him to slay the chaos here to slow it elsewhere. Only problem with this though was that he had no idea where the demons were.
That led to why he was here, he was to a degree asking the barkeeps, keepers of all the news in the area, if they'd heard of any nearby demons. Isk had been weeks in an area supposedly infested and had yet to slay a demon, this is very bad when you are a proffesional chaos killer (chaos refers to a large group of beasties of which demons are included).
Isk after walking several blocks through town came to the bar he'd been looking for and knocked it open somewhat harder than need be. He entered ignoring looks from any patrons and struggling managed to get up on a bar stool to look at the barkeep. Once there he signaled him over and asked in his accent, "Know you any demon people where located?"
This of course got a very confused look out of the barkeep as he spoke, "Why no I haven't, the demons seem to be very sneaky as of late." Unwilling to continue this conversation the barkeep shortly discovered his shoes needed to be tied at the other end of the bar. Annoyed as this was at least the seventh bar he'd tried Isk exclaimed to the patrons, "No person know where find demon people? How Isk to find them!"
Hand of Fate - June 13, 2008 03:16 PM (GMT)
Once again The Stranger found himself in the pirate city of the Ardanian continent, Galam-Yensa. It’s the perfect place to enter the mainland and reenter the more established civilizations without too much passport checking or questions asked. Ken paid a fee to have Ikari’s boat stored away in a dry dock, because he didn’t feel like he’d be needing it for awhile. After some wandering, The Stranger found himself at some random pub, looking for a quick meal. He stood just out in front of the door. He looked down at his hands right, before entering. They looked like normal human hands. He could almost believe that everything that had happened to him recently was just a terrible nightmare, but as soon as the thought of entertaining such a fantasy entered his mind the hands he looked down at changed from their mundane form into the ‘Hands of Fate’. They grew slightly larger, his nails grew into claws, horns stabbed through his skin from his bone at random places, the skin on his hands darkened and hardened into that of a Demon’s. This all happened in a flash and in the next instant his hands had changed back into their mundane form. In reality his hands had not changed, it was merely a vision The Hands of Fate showed him, to remind him of his plight. They seemed to take on a sick pleasure in taunting him, or maybe it was his own fear that had triggered the vision. The Stranger had to suppress himself from screaming and causing a scene.
The Stranger, wiping the sweat from his brow then knocked weakly on the pub’s door. It was a timid knock, which no one would probably hear or pay attention to. He then pushed open the door just in time to catch the end of the question the Trollkin asked.
“Demons?” Ken couldn’t help but ask, when he heard the word. Ken did not consider himself a Demon, but instead always viewed them as his enemy. His own sister was engaged in the war with them. It was Ken's aim to now finally join her, after discovering so much power.
Cavada - June 13, 2008 03:29 PM (GMT)
As Isk eyed the patrons of the bar who were either content to ignore the trollkin or were staring at him like he had a third eye someone spoke. He turned his sonar gave towards the speaker looking a little irrate, after all he'd been at this for a while now, and he didn't like being held up. Still he had a strange response to such a simple question.
The trollkin warrior hopped off his high bar stool and walked over to the guy and spoke, "Yes, demons," Isk examined him up and down, he didn't look like anything to special, male, human, not particularily strong looking, "Know. Brimstone, fire, big, evil. I, Isk, I find demons then kill. Is what I do."
Isk deciding perhaps he spoke up with knowledge followed up, "You know where, find demons? Tell I, quickly. Hunt must, the Storm Bull command it." Isk was stuck pretty firmly in his barbarian stance style for the moment, after all hunting chaos didn't really need anything else.
Hand of Fate - June 13, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
"Demons... yes Demons... that's all anyone seems to care about nowadays... I'm actually looking to join the forces that are fighting the Demon Hordes, myself," The Stranger, after having calmed down a bit answered.
"I don't actually know where the fight is taking place now, but my own sister is already enlisted in the ranks that are fighting back," he continued, giving an answer he hoped would satisfy the strange creature that stood before him. The Stranger was not too familiar with whatever it was he speaking to. He did know enough to realize that this creature was related to Trolls on some level. He had not spent any time in Troll controlled territory through out his travels, so he was unfamiliar with them.
When he realized that this creature was out to savagely kill Demons, he became worried. Demons are powerful alone, but nowadays they worked together in mass armies. This Trollkin was probably going to end up joining the ranks of one of the resisting armies, which is what he wanted as well. Still he felt worried about joining this Trollkin, since this one so passionately wanted to kill Demons, and whether he wanted to admit it or not, he was now a least part Demon.
Cavada - June 13, 2008 04:04 PM (GMT)
Isk being a little bit more cunning than he looked, and not a very trusting person at all gave the newcomer a good scrutinizing with his eyes squinted at the eyes of the stranger though since he had to look up so much this lost some of its effect. Isk must've held this for a few seconds hoping to make the other a little more uncomfortable, and make him slip up if he was lying.
After this he doubled it up with a direct question on the topic, "You say fight demon hordes too? How know that you not lie to I?" Isk kept up his gaze, now that he was closer he supposed that the fellow could be strong enough to fight dispite the fact that he wasn't the biggest man Isk had seen. Then again Isk wasn't the biggest troll around either and he did not miss this thought.
Something in the demeanor of this one though... he seemed a little scared by Isk. Sure he got that alot, being of an incredibly dark skin color, looking like a creature of the night (he was after all), having several inch long lower cannines, bat ears, and coming from a culture famed for cannibalism, but when another is about a foot shorter than you, it is usually figured that you wont be afraid of them. As such Isk decided to keep up his agressive acting to make sure this one wasn't a weakling, or a liar.
Perhaps he could use this one though, Isk was in a different land, and if this one were to perhaps pass his tests he could be of use as a guide while they tried to find the resisting armies (though Isk had never heard of them so therefore deemed them weak) to meet up with.
Hand of Fate - June 13, 2008 04:18 PM (GMT)
The subject hit Strange hard, but this only served to strengthen his reslove. He stared back towards Isk with unwavering eyes.
"I have fought them before, and I've lost good friends to Demons," Strange responded coldly, the thought of his lost friends made him forget himself a bit. The thought of showing Isk the hands that took his friends away popped up in his mind, but he resisted. It was probably the Demon's influence that made him want to do that. To be questioned if he really fought Demons, after everything he's been through? He wanted to show Isk just how much experience he had with Demons, but that was wrong. There's no way this man could have known what Strange had been through. He had to realize this, it was an honest question.
"If you don't believe me, that's fine too," Strange forced himself to calm down. "I don't have to prove anything to you, and It's not like I can tell you exactly where to find the fighting, anyway." Strange felt himself getting overheated. The brute and simple way of talking Isk had was irritating him somewhat, plus he couldn't really get over the fact that his question had insulted him and the memory of his friends. He needed to get out of there, quickly. He felt his emotions spiraling uncontrollably with in him. He turned and decided it'd be best to leave. As he reached for the door with his right hand, The Hands of Fate began to slowly surface. It did not outright change right in front of everyone, but what looked like a dark brown web like vein patter began to spread around his hand and forearms. Strange didn't notice as he pushed the door open, because he was too distracted. He simply pushed the door open hurriedly.
Cavada - June 16, 2008 01:08 AM (GMT)
Now the man was being a little more couragous, but it was a strange sort of courage and as he talked Isk tried to figure out what it was. As the last sentance came out Isk scrutinized the way it was said, and just as the Stranger was turning to leave Isk came up with it. It was anger of some kind, the man was angry with Isk, and wrath was often a cover for fear.
As though to prove him right (or at least that's what Isk thought) the man turned to leave at that moment. Isk thought for a second perhaps he had been right in questioning the man, he was being way to jittery and leaving in much to much a hurry. He couldn't let him just leave, clearly there was some alterior motive here. As the man opened the door Isk caught control of the wind from outside and pulled it back causing the door to slam back shut and he kept one hand pulling to hold the door closed as he spoke.
"Why man hurry to leave? Think I perhaps hide something, must tell quick 'less I find untrustworthy. Ogre look like human in Tabor, maybe you be them and not tell. True cannot judge, but cannot let escape either, I not allow. Explain if you good, but if evil prepare fight." With his free hand Isk reached back and drew his spear and held it to his side, not completely in a ready position, but close enough. He had way to many times fighting something that looked human and then tried to poison you when you weren't looking.
Hand of Fate - June 16, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
The door was slammed shut by a force unknown to Strange. He did hear a slight change of wind before it was shut, though. Did Isk use Wind Alchemy? Strange turned back to face him as he heard Isk speak again. It was clear now to Strange, that it had been Isk. This angered him, he wanted to leave, this person was effectively holding him captive for questioning. Who did this man think he was? The law? Justice? God? What gave him the right to ask questions? Strange couldn't help but hear his own thoughts ask these questions. Even though he knew it wasn't an outrageous question, or difficult to answer question. For a brief second he considered calmly explaining in a polite manner, but that thought was soon gone. It left with one breath as he let out an annoyed sigh.
"I already told you, I don't know where the fight is taking place," He repeated. The veins on his arms were still still changing very slowly. This man's unique sentence structure was beginning to irritate Strange. He couldn't figure how half the things he just said. Something about evil and good. It was hot in here, too, and the cool wind that the door had shut away taunted and teased Strange with the cool relief it gave him for just that one second the door was open. His head hurt too. He couldn't think straight. "I don't have anything to say to ya," He said in an annoyed voice.
Cavada - June 16, 2008 01:34 AM (GMT)
The man was stubbornly avoiding his questions. Now the fact that Isk had an odd way of talking he was aware of, he just didn't know how to fix it, after all he was already trying to explain this in a second language. Human speak was so stupid, Darktongue was much easier. To be completely honest Tradetalk wasn't even his second language it was his third behind Darktongue (native language) and Ishite (official language of Lei Empire). Still he was fairly sure he'd been rather thorough in his explaination and this human must've intentionally been dodging.
"I not ask about how to find fighting, know you don't know. I ask if you demon, and why leave hasty. Not like when others try hide things from I." Isk seconded this statement by holding his spear a little higher and he began tapping into his unique powers, a second and third Isk image appeared on either flank of The Stranger as Isk demanded again, "Explain haste before Superior Superior Trollkin become testy." He'd used his nickname, clearly Isk was going more and more into the barbarian stage.
The evidence was beginning to stack in Isk's mind against this man, he'd tried to run, he'd dodged the question and then after that refused to talk at all, and the answer was simply that he was hiding something. Sensing the tension between the two tables in the bar began turning on their sides as their patrons sat behind them for protection and the bartender moved to the bar's far side.
Hand of Fate - June 16, 2008 01:44 AM (GMT)
Strange stayed silent for a moment, staring directly into the original Isk's eyes. Though he wasn't sure it was really the real one. The expression he wore was hard to read, emotionless. The spear Isk was holding angered Strange, it was really annoying.
Then suddenly, Strange smiled. He let out a small laugh and took a few steps closer to the original, still wearing a wicked smile. He couldn't take too many steps because of the spear and the fact it was cramped in there to begin with. By now his nails were getting longer and yellower. The skin on his hands was turning darker too. His glare was unwavering.
"Heh," He let out a slight laugh stopping as close as he could to Isk. "Why don't you ask me outside," Strange said, his twisted smile spreading wider. He then turned, arrogantly showing his back to his opponent and taking easy strides towards the door. He didn't know if his opponent would wait for him to get to the door, so he prepared his own abilities for combat, but he didn't let his body language show this.
Cavada - June 16, 2008 01:56 AM (GMT)
Now Isk was sure of his stance on the matter, this man had to be a demon, his hands clearly showed it, also he was clearly showing signs of giving up his pathetic attempt at playing dumb. (OoC: I assume you know I'm kidding Kenji :P) However dispite the usual trickery of demons Isk rather liked his idea to take it outside. Embarassing a demon in a fight would be a great morale boost for the populace, and it would give him more room to use his spear.
"Plan fine wit' I. Demon blood on nice bar floor not easy to clean, I know." With the man's turning around, Isk didn't intend to kill him just yet he had to get him outside to kill in front of the populace for morale reasons not in some bar where everyone will just assume its the drink. As he turned Isk released his hold on the door and used the air in the bar to open it back up.
With the door open though and the man facing the wrong way Isk then struck but not with his spear. He sent a good strong psychic push right at the man's back to shove him clean through the door, and he was also aiming to throw him to the ground with it. While doing this he drew his shield and followed the man outside, ready to take the fight to the streets.
Hand of Fate - June 16, 2008 02:12 AM (GMT)
((OCC- Yus ))
The door opened letting in a slight wind. It felt nice to Ken. It blew the tail of his coat and the frayed edges of his ruined sleeves up, but before he could enjoy it for second a powerful force struck Strange sending him out the door. He was in the air for only a split second, more than enough time to react, but he neglected to do so. His feet came in contact with the floor awkwardly and in the next instant his knees hit the floor hard, followed by his upper torso and head. He bounced off the ground once and tumbled over before skidding to a stop on the floor a few feet away from the door. He was stricken with sorrow as what little relief he had obtained was taken from him so quickly. His smile was gone.
Lying on the floor, his limbs were strewn out awkwardly where ever they had fallen.
"How annoying," Strange let out in a deep voice. His hands began to change more violently now. His whole body ached in pain from the fall, but he had felt much worse. His hands grew slightly bigger and his nails where now fully claws. The Hands of Fate were now in their most natural form.
He only stayed on the floor for a moment. He then began to get up awkwardly. His movements were sharp and jerky. He let his head and arms hang lazily, being dragged up by his torso, propped up by his legs until he had moved up to a standing position. When he was fully upright his head bobbed forward and then turned back towards Isk.
Strange saw Isk charging towards. He was still facing the wrong way, looking back at Isk he suddenly just smiled, his glaring eye focused straight at the eyes of his foe. He stretched out his arms to his sides as if he were going to accept a hug from a friend, except he was still facing the wrong way.
Cavada - June 16, 2008 02:22 AM (GMT)
Great now the stupid demon was standing in Isk's way, he was tempted to just spear him through right here, but he wanted his opponent a little more in the open. That and he wanted to get through the door. Figuring his opponent hadn't quite got the hint yet he sent another push to send him further out of the doorway, or at least attempt to.
After the push he would get out into the outside and if the man managed to resist the push he could always just squeeze through. Regardless of how once outside Isk formed another two copies of himself bringing the total to five and began moving to surround Ken. He wasn't sure just how he wanted to kill this one yet, but he had no intention of giving it a chance.
Cruel little psychic tricks began coming to Isk's mind and he was thinking about using them, but first he had to figure out just what the demon might try. He kept moving himself and his clones, trying to encircle and then keep moving to disorient their opponent. Always Isk was in the phalanx stance now, shield covering most of his body and spear stuck out towards his opponent.
Hand of Fate - June 16, 2008 02:46 AM (GMT)
Another invisible force struck Strange and pushed him farther away from the door. It was annoying, he was leaving himself open for a close range attack, not more cowardly tricks. His opponent seemed to be trying to hide in a sea of himself. The pain from the push attack was lessened, because Strange did not resist it. He used an Ausamatu Style teaching, to be like the sapling and not the oak tree. The oak tree gets snapped in the winds of the storm, but the sapling bends and moves with it and doesn't break. That didn't stop his back from complaining about the pain from the attack though.
Ken was pushed away a few more feet in addition to the first few feet, plenty of room for Isk to move outward and take his position.
The force of the push had forced him to turn his face away from the bar door. It didn't matter now, since he was surrounded. He just let his head droop lazily. He wasn't smiling again.
"Didn't you have a question or something?" He asked looking upwards towards the sky. The clouds were nice today.
"Don't bother asking," Ken said lazily stretching his hands towards the warm sun. "I'll tell you," he continued.
"The reason why I was in such a hurry~" Strange said, his voice's tone changed as he spoke. It became 'odd'. His tone was sort of sarcastic, almost silly. Strange stiffened and loosed his muscles in certain parts of his body for his next move.
"...is because..." Strange moved his right arm back and his left arm forward, then suddenly moved his arms quickly in the other direction and twisted his body to build up momentum to spin. He bent forward as he did, planting his right hand onto the ground and kicking his legs outward and around until he was spinning fiercely.
"...I'm a Demon!" Strange called out as he spun. Soon after he began the spin he dug his left claws into the ground, sending out dirt and small rocks up and outwards. Some rocks and dirt got caught by his spinning legs and were sent flying all in all directions towards the many Isks. He kept his momentum up as he did this by swinging the weight of his lower torso and legs. As he spun his eyes focused carefully on the tiny rocks and dirt. Seeing which ones would go through the Isks and which would be stopped by him.
Cavada - June 16, 2008 06:48 PM (GMT)
Isk had gotten a nice surrounding of the man before he'd started speaking, but allowed him to say a piece that could save his life and listened. It was all wonderfully dramatic to the point where Isk found it a little annoying and he wished the man would just spit it out. Then there was the dramatic confession, Isk found it a little anticlimactic as he'd already guessed that.
As the man said it though all of the Isk's entered a little phalanx style stance with their mirror shields up to cover them, but they did not cringe very far backwards, kicking manuevers were usually intimidating looking, but couldn't hurt as much as some other things, so Isk tried not to off-balance himself by over avoiding. The real Isk, being still unused to the true art of trickery had been standing as far from the bar as was possible and thus when Ken had started explaining was actually looking right at him.
Hearing the rocks ping off his strong shield though Isk began to guess the intent was to see through his illusion. He didn't have a lot that he could do about this however so instead he tried to exploit this man's strange spinning stance. The trollkin felt into the wind and gathered a little of it then sent it towards the man to spin around him in the exact same direction as he was already spinning. He did this to make him start spinning so fast he might lose his balance or at the very least have a hard time stopping or launching an attack at the real Isk.
With his wind sent to spin Ken a little faster Isk switched his spear to overhand to prepare for one of his trademark attacks, one that had gotten him the nickname Storm Spear.
Hand of Fate - June 16, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
Strange's wicked smile grew as he found his target, but before he could decide on an attack. It was chosen for him. He felt the wind begin to spin him faster. He had to increase his the movements of his hands that kept him up and spinning around, he had no more time to dig into the ground for more dirt, but he already knew which one it was. As he continued spinning faster and faster, propelled by the wind, he naturally tapped into his magic powers almost with out knowing. He was using haste to increase his speed by 1/4 so his hands could keep up with the spin rate.
He smile wickedly now. "Ooohhh~ how fun!" He called out as he did, though it might be hard to hear him.
He then increased his spinning, by using Hasta he increased his speed by 1/2 his already incredible warrior's speed. His hands moved even faster now, he was like a blur. This was in addition to the wind and his original spinning. He then stiffened his his legs and tilted his body, so that his legs spun around and made contact with the ground. His foot cracked the ground and took a good hold on it. He continued spinning with the motion until his other leg met the ground. He continued further with the momentum of the spinning, so that he was like a wheel with his legs moving towards the real Isk. He put his demonic hands into a praying position as he closed the distance and his protect ring began to grow. He couldn't forget it, because the ring was once a little to big and now a little too tight. He was going to use the Ausamatu Secret Art 'Shinning Fist' Style, but with his legs for the first time.
"Strange Secret Art~ Shinning Feets!" Strange called out with a smile as he spun, flipping his legs around and around with the momentum. He closed the distance in a quick flash and when he reached striking distance he slammed his foot into the ground extra hard to propel himself into the air slightly and give him the reach to strike his other leg towards his opponent. As he did, his feet and legs began to glow with the light of a protect spell. This was to protect him from the pain of kicking something at this speed and power and perhaps any defensive maneuvers Isk might bring out.
((Sorry it's hard to explain, and I don't feel comfortable. Writing at my friends house.))
Cavada - June 16, 2008 10:04 PM (GMT)
In the spinning blaze that Ken had become Isk couldn't get a good shot with his spear at anything vulnerable, if he was going to stab something and possibly lose his weapon he was at least going to make sure he hit. Then Ken moved suddenly and quickly and lacking warrior speed Isk couldn't make a full reaction, fortunately he didn't have to do that much, his shield was already mostly in position.
As Ken's kick came Isk both conciously and instinctively managed to raise his shield a few inches and intercept the kick, causing it to hit square in the center of the shield. The blow itself's main power was absorbed and distributed through the shield, but the force of the blow itself still traveled through the shield and into Isk a little.
The force caused the little trollkin to be knocked back a little, but he did all he could to keep his stance and maintain his defenses. Having failed to take initiative last time though Isk decided to attack quickly this time. He took a lunging step forward and launched a pair of quick thrusts at Ken, at the very least attempting to keep him back, but more specifically he was aiming for the stomach and lungs.
(OoC: Isk feel unoriginal for this post.)
Hand of Fate - June 16, 2008 10:22 PM (GMT)
((Don't underestimate basics, using them is important. It's not cool to be doing creative flowery moves all the time, like I tend to. Also I regret it now, because I felt so good coming up with it, but in my last post it should be 'Shinning feets' not just feets.))
The kick was blocked, as Strange had expected. Isk was holding a defensive position after all. It's why he decided to use Shinning Feets instead of just the kick, which would have been powerful enough on it's own. The force of his kick landing on the strong shield sent pain through out Strange's leg, through even the protect enchantment. It was expected as well, and Strange worked past it easily, All the while still grinning his wicked grin.
Now it was Isk's turn to attack, and he came at it with the basics. Strange was also a master of the basics, and not only was he determined to not only defend himself but not leave an opening for his opponent to try something fancy.
The spears came at Strange as he was still recovering from his attack, in the awakr position of having his left leg up and his right leg planted. Shinning Feets still active, he decided to move forward, instead of retreat, as his Demonic blood had him inclined not to falter.
He reared back his left knee and rammed it into the side of the spear, barely deflecting it away from his upper torso. The Shinning Feets Technique protected his knee from the blade of the spear. The spear was reared back for another quick jab. In that time Strange quickly brought his left leg down to take a step back to regain some much needed balance. Just as Strange's left foot had planted he reared up his right shinning leg to deflect a second stab. With out having to let his right foot touch down to the ground, he pulled it back slightly and sent out a quick jabbing kick. It was aimed towards Isk's spear. Strange hoped that Isk would at least be forced back slightly by the attack, as it was probably his goal for his attacks, but in the best case scenario he could also create an opening in Isk's guard for another attack.
Ken's quick series of kicks was fluid and and fast, all amplified by his Haste ability, which he seemed to be tapping into with his natural need and desire to move faster.
Cavada - June 16, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
(OOC: Not entirely sure what you did that time Kenji, but what I'm doing should make it not matter.)
It was somewhat hard to keep up with the superfast Ken, but Isk wasn't the slowest around either. His attacks deflected, he wasn't surprised, but in his style of fighting you just had to keep trying simple things like that until your opponent made a mistake and to open his guard. There was another of his counter kicks, aimed towards Isk's right side this time.
The trollkin came up with in a second what he assumed was a rather clever plan, his opponent was on one foot with an attack heading towards his non-shield side. Isk turned his body, bringing his right side out of the kicks way and simultaneously doing a quick step and thrust forward, not with his spear, but with his shield. A shield bash was a rather powerful move most of the time and his opponent, though maybe on balance, was only on one foot, and it could knock him off said balance.
Having another hand free and an opponent with a blatant protect spell running though Isk decided to try and get him while he would be preocupied stopping the powerful shield bash. Reaching with the finger of his right hand which still grasped the spear, Isk attempted a quick touch of the foot that had just barely missed him. He hoped he could get this to work at a slight distance too, but the touch made it much easier. He tried to use an anti-ward to cancel the protect spell, he didn't actually know it would also handle the haste. Still his main hope with winning this was with his shield bash, and that was were his main focus was.
Hand of Fate - June 16, 2008 10:50 PM (GMT)
((Sorry, he kicked with his left foot to stop the first stab, switched over to his right leg, with which he did a double kick combo. The first of that combo to deflect the second stab and the third to just put some distance between the spear and him. Basically he did three quick kicks protected by the protect spell. What you wrote works perfectly. Does anti ward prevent recasting? The old version I believe did not, but it's description has changed. It doesn't say 'for the rest of the battle' like the other anti spells, but I'm not sure.))
A quick shield bash came at Strange. He had expected his opponent to keep his distance, seeing as his weapon was a spear, and had not expected an attack with the much lower ranged weapon. An excellent counter it was, Isk had pulled away his spear instead of resisting, and attack with the shield. It was excellent indeed, that didn't stop Strange from cursing loud profanities about the move as the shield hit him hard. He had kept his arms up to defend himself as he kicked, but it made little difference with the shield being a wide blunt weapon.
Ken was forced backwards off balance, but before he fell fully to the ground his arms, having been knocked a bit back from the initial attack, rushed backwards to catch himself. He was now standing on his feet and hands, with his belly up. He quickly scurried backwards away from Isk in that crab like position. He was at a disadvantaged position because of the attack, and was desperately trying to avoid the next attack. Still he was having a lot of fun and grinning wildly.
He hadn't noticed when it had happened, but a slight touch and infusion of psychic energy had rid him of his haste and protect spells, he was too concentrated on desperately trying to put some distance between him and his opponent to notice.
Cavada - June 17, 2008 01:54 AM (GMT)
(OoC: Hmm... I'm not sure just what happened with Anti-ward, I think there's a disscussion a while back on just what it does in the ERL though, I'll see if I can dig it up.)
This demon was getting a little crazier all the time, was a thought Isk could not prevent himself from thinking. It was now scurrying away like a crab. In the concentration of his last double attack move he had however lost track of his copies and was now the only trollkin in the courtyard. His move had been perfect though, he could not have hoped for better.
His opponent was prone, but still mobile and rather quick. With it fleeing and it's defenses down Isk chased with his short legs as fast as he could, trying to keep his eyes on its feet which seemed so prone to kicking or whatever. Being standing he still should've been able to catch his prone opponent.
At that moment though Isk made a strike to attempt to end the fight, taking his overhand spear and swinging the spearpoint down towards the ground. A simple downward stab was a move for one simple job, impaling the first thing it hit, and his target was a demon, so Isk was plenty ready to drive it nice and deep.
Hand of Fate - June 17, 2008 02:16 AM (GMT)
Given the awkward position he was, it was obvious he would be caught, but the time it would take to stand would leave him open for a finishing blow. The scurrying had bought him the time to recover and rethink his next move and though obviously unorthodox, it was clearly the most sanest move possible. That's not what the sane people would tell you though.
Strange's thought's were clear and precise, 'No time now to try to retreat. No time to use spells. Only one thing left to do, and that's good, 'cause that's what I like to do the best!'
He decided to attack.
As soon as Isk entered striking distance, Strange planted his feet in place firmly. His powerful leg and ab muscles brought him forward towards Isk's spear. He moved up into a standing position, his glaring eyes watched the spear come at him. As he predicted, his opponent's attack was basic. Victory should be precise and decisive, with out waste. Seeing his opponent in such a weak position, Isk had charged forward with a basic attack. As far as Strange could tell in those few split instances, Isk had not prepared anything else but the basic spear stab. He already knew he had no time to dodge it... fully... he did dodge it enough so it would strike him in the stomach and avoid any major organs and his spine.
Strange's wicked smile came right up to Isk, as he reached full standing position, the spear stabbed clean through him. His glaring unwavering eyes stared deep into Isk's eyes as his massive claw of a left hand latched around the spear, holding it in place.
At the same time he decided to taunt, "Not bad... My tuuuurrrnnnn~" As Strange called out in a dark voice that seemed not his own the word 'turn', he kept his mouth open wide. In front of it a magical light gathered. Strange was counting on the fact that the ignored stab would be quite shocking to Isk. If Isk hesitated for even an instant, because of that, it would be enough. Because in that instant he would fire of an Energy Beam square at Isk's face at point black range.
Cavada - June 17, 2008 02:29 AM (GMT)
Ken's guess was pretty close to right on, Isk was confused slightly by the demon moving into the attack and then more so by being impaled and deciding to ignore it. After seeing the demon ignore the spear in him he let go of it, it wasn't doing him any good anymore. While his right hand detached from the spear it began moving to his side where his daggers were.
He never got it there though as a bright light started shining from the demon, and this must've been the attack the demon was refering too. Isk didn't have time to react this time, but fortunately instinct made the move that saved his life and this was a particular troll instinct, avoid light. As the blast charged and fired Isk's shield rose a little higher, and just enough to interject itself in front of Isk's face (his instinct was to get the shield in front of his eyes for shade).
The blast was still point blank and very powerful though. Isk litterally flew away from his opponent, getting around ten feet in the air before gracelessly landing and skidding along the ground for a few feet. He certainly couldn't lie and say that the shot didn't hurt though, all over were bruses from the landing now, and he was a little short of breat from landing so hard. On the other hand Isk also told himself he'd had worse, he could beat this one, and thus stood up quickly to not show weakness.
So the beastie could do a little magic and fight too, well Isk decided it was time to kick things up a few notches, using his powers. Isk reached with both hands down in a move and drew his two daggers (his shield is still on though). The right hand dagger he threw into the air and snatched with an evo, then transfered his left dagger to the right hand. With the dagger floating in midair he commanded it to fly towards his opponent's face. Waiting a half second though Isk also grabbed hold of a second object with evo, his spear.
As the dagger flew towards its target, Isk used a strong psychic force to yank the shaft of the spear all the way through the demon to try and make it come out the demon's back. If it got stuck at least it would jerk around, but the intention was simple, distract his opponent with a very painful pull from an impaling spear just as a dagger was headed in to do the real damage.
Hand of Fate - June 17, 2008 02:43 AM (GMT)
It might be hard to tell from that distance, but Strange's wicked smile stretched further. He first saw a blade fly at him, his first reaction was to back away. Suddenly, almost at the same time he felt the spear he was holding be pulled backwards further into him and out the other side... it was too perfect.
He didn't let the spear be ripped out of him, he didn't force it to try and stand still. He didn't even bother worrying about the knife either.
It was clear to him what he would do.
'Ausamatu Secret Art~ Leap of Faith' He didn't have to say it out loud, he just did it instinctively. It was a remnant from his past, the only parts his Demon side would allow to surface right now. The deadly parts.
As soon as he felt the pull on the spear, he kicked with his feet as hard as he could. So he'd move backwards, with the spear.
But before neither he or the spear traveled any distance, or the knife got any closer, his blink ring activated. It was on his other hand, much like his protect ring. With in an instant with out a single moment to give a hint to what he was doing, Strange disappeared.
In that same instant he reappeared behind Isk, still with the momentum of going backwards. He continued that momentum so he would ram the spear blade into Isk's back.
Cavada - June 17, 2008 11:26 PM (GMT)
Isk had done something rather foolish just before the demonic one made his teleportation, he'd actually accelerated the spear, intending to plant it into a wall and trap the demon, unfortunately it never occured to him the thing would be a teleporter too. His control over the spear and dagger continued though dispite the teleport (this is why it maintains that momentum I assume) though.
As such as soon as Ken was out from his teleport Isk sensed his spear again, unfortunately much to late. He reacted quickly, but Ken was to close and moving too fast. He began turning to his left, and slowing the spear down with evo, but the spear caught him anyways. The movement redirected the spear into Isk's shoulder thankfully, but caused large damage to that arm.
Isk commanded the spear to yank out of him as soon as it had stopped, this would take only a moment. He yelled a loud grunt of pain and took a couple quick steps forward to put distance between him and Ken. The trollkin was now very annoyed, tricky little demon. However a momentary check of himself made Isk realize his left arm was for the moment disabled, and he couldn't lift his shield to defend himself, he had to readjust himself.
Now was the time for distraction and damage. The now annoyed Isk began a frenzy of different psychic techniques. First creating more copies of himself than before, around 15 this time. Next each of the copies raised their hand and a ball of light began forming, at the same time the floating dagger flopped on the ground. From each copy of Isk came a sudden and very bright Energy blast just like Ken had used on Isk earlier, one of them was real, but at just slightly reduced power (3/4), the point of this move was not to wound, but more to distract and blind.
For as soon as he fired the energy blast Isk had run out of his position hoping for the momentary cover of light and the fact that there were fifteen copies of him who at that time mimiced his running, but running around in a circle around Ken. He used this cover to take several steps and work his way under the shade of a building and disappear using a veil. There under the cover of shadows and coinfident his confusing maze of mimics Isk caught a momentary breath, and removed his shield, and hid it nearby. There he waited and caught his breath, trying to formulate a plan, he'd need to give his psychic energy a rest for a short bit, but then, he intended to come out all set for battle.
Hand of Fate - June 17, 2008 11:48 PM (GMT)
((You were wrong, that wasn't god moddy at all... mine was more so than yours, but bothy were well with in the capabilities of our characters.))
"Hit! A hit, I do profess!" Strange let out with a slight laugh, as he felt the spear strike his opponent. He wasn't sure his amused attitude's was from the temptation of insanity from his Demonic blood, or from his lack of blood due to his wound.
Isk's counter attack was shinny, there was no time to dodge the wide collection of beams, and not time to find the real one, but Strange had come to find that magic had little effect on him now. It seems the Demon Fate, whose hands Strange now had, was an Anti-Magic type of Demon, who's powers negated magic much like as certain Dragons were commonly known for.
Instead of dodging, Strange simply brought up a red energy field around his body. It was E-Shell and it had the power to stop much more powerful attacks than that. Strange couldn't afford much more injury.
After the attack he looked to the running Isks. More tricks, but thankfully Strange was bleeding a lot and it had gotten onto his hands. He began to flick blood at the Isks to see which the drops of blood wouldn't pass through. As he did he attended to his wounds.
He decided to leave the spear in the wound, because it would cause him to bleed more if it were taken out.
He gripped it trying to feel if he could break it or not. ((I'm asking OCC if I can have permission to break your weapon.))
He became annoyed when he couldn't find which Isk was real, though he was thankful that for the pause in combat. He must have been missing the right Isk. It took him a few moments to think that Isk wasn't among the fakes around him.
Cavada - June 18, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
(OoC: Actually Isk's spear would be a holy spear, and probably also made entirely out of a strong metal including the shaft so you actually probably couldn't break it. I meant god mody in that I didn't allow you to launch a counter sooner, but I didn't think you'd have time as it was actually a faster series of moves that it seemed.)
Isk was busying himself making defensive manuevers while Ken was trying to figure out the maze of mimics. He started by creating a zone of anti-teleport, and he began thinking about blocking some of Ken's spells. He thought back... there was the suspicious manuever Ken had used to speed himself up, so Isk blocked Haste with his mind from a distance, after this he blocked Energy Blast. (OoC: Not sure how Anti-mag works I hope this is okay)
Then it became time for Isk to strike again. Isk tossed the dagger he had left into the air and seized control of the daggers, then he snuck them into the crowd of mimics. At this time he also started ordering the mimics to start diving in with fake attacks. His opponent may have guessed that he wasn't among the Isk's so he sent several pushes towards his target at the start.
After a few seconds of push attempts and fake Mimic attacks, it was time for Isk to strike, he sent the first dagger through in the hands of a mimic, towards Ken's lower ribcage, and the second dagger he sent in a similar way a few moments later in another mimic, but this time it was aimed at the back of Ken.
Hand of Fate - June 18, 2008 12:35 AM (GMT)
((I understand. I see, I didn't even think of that. That works just fine. Though remember I still have Hasta~ Hastablabla... they're different spells.))
The spear seemed pretty firm. Strange gripped it, but moving it too much shot pain through out his body, so he opted to ignore it again. He had to end this fight quickly, he wouldn't last much longer with this wound.
Suddenly Strange felt something restraining his magical energies. He looked to the source of where he felt this power that was holding his powers in check.
He already knew his opponent was using psychic skills. He couldn't see from where though. It seemed that the power that locked his away was coming from there, but he couldn't place it.
The Isks also began to lunge at him. He knew they were illusions, so he decided to ignore them and concentrate on his next move.
Before he could think of his next move he felt the invisible force of the push abilities. It was weak giving the distance from the caster and the fact he didn't have any physical motion to direct it or time to gather psychic energy. Not to mention he was using many different powers at once.
Because he was weakened, even these attacks might end things for Strange. Still, he knew they would only be a distraction for some form of real attack.
Like hell was Strange gonna wait for that. It was time to stop holding back. Haste was gone, that was a spell that increased his speed by 1/4... he could do much better. Hastagan, a different spell, with in the same family of techniques. It increased his speed one hundred fold. He moved so fast that the normal eye could not keep up.
He left an after image in his place and jumped over the Isks and psychic energy. He then moved towards were he felt the power. He noticed shadows around. He could not use E-beam but he had weaker versions of the spell, that were in the same family. He knew as soon as he used his spells there was a good change of them being locked away by the psychic.
Strange could not see where his opponent was hiding in the shadowed alley way. He used a weaker form of the locked E Beam. He used 'Energy Balls' to create a source of light to banish the darkness, so he could see better. Strange scanned the area to see what the light would reveal.
Cavada - June 18, 2008 01:58 AM (GMT)
Being mostly ready now anyways Isk had intended to step from the shadows, but his opponent had taken flight and was now throwing an energy ball at him. Moving a little to the side, Isk managed to dodge the blind fire of the attack, but he was out of the veil. His daggers were still floating somewhere among the mimics and he needed them, not the mimics though, and thus the illusions faded about that time.
He had been hard to spot what with the haste suddenly doubling his speed, but he had stopped to fire the energy ball. While he stopped Isk sent the daggers in to converge again this time from behind, as well as seizing the spear once more, but this time rather than trying to pull the spear out he swung it side to side, to try and create a larger wound hole.
To cause more issues for his opponent Isk began weaving a displace, but before completing it decided on a different attack. He did another copy of the energy blast Ken had just used and sent that at him, along with a nice push attack. He would need a little longer to complete his displace attack, and wasn't worried about it just yet with his opponent still out of striking distance, and with attacks coming from the front, and from behind.
Hand of Fate - June 18, 2008 02:13 AM (GMT)
Surprisingly enough, Isk came out of hiding from with in an actual shadow! Right away he came at Strange with an array of attacks.
"Pff, you think I'll just stand still?" Strange called out as Isk reached out to seize the spear. His voice echoed oddly as he did, because it wasn't coming from where he was standing.
As powerful as Hastagan was it wasn't Strange's best still... Hastagana was a spell with in the same family that increased his speed by 200% of his normal speed, which alone was top notch.
The Strange Isk reached out for and was attacking was merely yet another after image. Even while being hindered by his injuries he moved at incredible speeds, fighting through the pain.
Unknown to Strange, but the knives sent flying at what was once where his back was now flew straight past his after image towards Isk. He became visible a second time, that is if Isk had eyes in the back of his head, right behind Isk. He delivered a Hastagana amplified punch aimed at Isk's lower back and spine... but if someone saw this, that would also be an after image... where Strange really was, was the exact same spot, but he was already throwing a second punch towards the back of Isk's neck... but this was no ordinary lighting quick Hastagana punch (like that's ordinary...), Strange had also charged this last punch with the spell 'Energy Blast' which added explosive light based damage to his punch.
What he had done, quicker than a flash was gotten behind Isk, delivered an equally as quick double punch combo and even included a special attack for his second punch.
Cavada - June 18, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
Isk saw his copied blast pass through the after image before hearing the voice, but instantly he knew he was in trouble. His opponent was moving to fast and Isk didn't like that one bit, his first move realizing this was to layer on another of the anti-magic techniques on the most powerful of the haste spells Ken had used, thus slowing the punch that was on it's way at that time.
This slowing however was a little too late, still striking Isk before he could even begin to turn, and sending him a few feet forward, but he was able to react to the second punch. By the second punch he managed to turn quick enough to get a good sight of it then did a nice and fancy dodgeball style retreating side leap. This demon was stubbornly resisting death.
At this moment though he realized his daggers were on their way, right at him, and his opponent was still rather ground quick. Being now a few steps away, Isk bent at the knees and took off into the air with accent, (he wasn't to happy about having to use accent though) while taking off the daggers he seized with evo and sent them flying into their usual hands.
Isk was in the air now he expected, and he did everything in his power to get cleanly above the jumping distance, and it didn't require anything other than accent, but that was quite a bit to worry about. He had no idea if his opponent could fly or not, but Isk was prepared for both occurances with possibly the best plan of the fight for him so far.
(OoC: Anyways, Isk is in the air now, he didn't attack that round though, just got above attacking height, his attack will be next time. If you would've hit Isk before he took off fully I would guess this means he used a blinking ring instead to get to that height or used some wind alchemy to boost take off speed.)
Hand of Fate - June 18, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
Strange felt the first punch connect, but it the second one barely missed. He had to hand it to this Isk, he was pretty nimble to avoid that one. Strange had to change his preconceptions about Trolls, or at least Trollkin.
His opponent took flight, yet another fancy ability. Strange wondered to himself how much more of tricks could Isk use before tiring out. He himself had lost a lot of blood. It was moving so fast before it could not be seen, but by now the steady stream of blood that he left behind during his high speed maneuvers became visible. It was like an almost perfect line that outlined his path. It hung in the air for just a split instant before dropping to the ground with an irritating splat. He gripped hold of the spear inside of his wound.
Beyond the loss of blood, his body was beginning to tire as well, even if he wanted to try and jump after his opponent, he didn't have the will to anymore. Could he exert himself further and claw his way up the alley walls to lunge at his floating opponent? Yes, he could. Would he? No... no, this was getting to be a war of attrition.
He noticed his opponent didn't attack as well, on the defensive. He took the momentary laps in fighting to catch his breath and call out.
"Always running away... I thought you wanted to kill me... not the other way around," Strange taunted again.
"Hey, hey, tell me Isky, why do you hunt demons?" He continued after a slight pause.
Cavada - June 18, 2008 11:24 PM (GMT)
So the demon wanted to talk now? Strange, Isk was getting to that point too, he was wearing and this annoying headache was getting to him, though admittedly he hadn't lost nearly as much blood as Strange had. He had to keep images though, "Oh no worry..." Isk realizing just how tired he was took this opportunity for a few breaths, "I kill you in a second, easier hit demons when closer to Storm Bull."
Isk gave him another of his don't do that, but whatever looks as the demon called him Isky. How ignorant of this demon not knowing why he hunted demons, what kind of place was he in where Storm Bull wasn't well know as the supreme god of chaos killing. The catchphrase of the cult was the only good chaos is dead chaos and it had been that way forever.
Isk decided to respond, being not quite ready to finish the fight just yet, "I tell you. Demons be highest form, chaos. Storm Bull command kill all chaos. Kygor Litor command kill all chaos. If gods of law not defeat chaos, world die. Chaos always come kill people in troll cities, and human cities. Isk not like that... put lightly." His words may not have been articulate in Tradetalk, but the big thoughts were there, and Isk's more regal side had begun coming out, the side that involved more thought, and reason. However he was still waiting on the edge of tapping back into his psychic powers again and ending this fight at last.
Raku - June 18, 2008 11:31 PM (GMT)
Nero was walking along through the city when he heard talking. So Nero followed the sound quietly as he could. He found 2 people sitting there with blood coming out of injuries they had recieved just alittle while ago. He hid in a close by alleyway and moved it around so he could peek through it. What're they doing?, Nero thought to himself. Nero started to think this two were about to start up again so he got ready to run in.
Better be careful...., thinking to himself quietly. He put up his hood and got ready to jump into the quarrel in front of him. Grabbing his staff he got ready to cast any spell he could at the right moment.
Hand of Fate - June 18, 2008 11:44 PM (GMT)
This person had no intentions of not stopping the fight until Strange was dead. Strange knew he probably wouldn't have the power to completely kill this opponent, but if he could wear him down further he might convince him to a temporary cease fire.
It was an odd question to ask from the start. He himself had hunted demons for little reason before all of this, now as Strange asked Isk the question, he also felt like he was asking himself.
Strange's body needed more time to rest, but his magic was barely used... only once had he used a pure magic skill, the other times were just to amplifying his physical ability. He also noticed that his opponent was in the air...
"God told you to, huh? Well, you can't very much say no to that," Strange said with a nod.
"What? Your not, going to ask me why I'm a Demon?" It was an even stranger question, that he was sure Isk wouldn't understand, but in truth Strange had once been human and was forced into the Demon fold. That didn't matter though. Even as he prepared his next attack, he couldn't help but wonder if any of the 'evil' creatures he had killed in the past had chosen or were forced into evil.
Strange could let his body rest for awhile longer, while at the same time give his opponent something to fret about.
"Well, instead of that... I'll tell you this... I'm going to stop holding back now... If I had used my claws instead of my knuckles, you would be a corpse right now...." Strange called out again in a darker tone.
As he did he held up his right hand showing his sharp claws to his opponent. This 'showing' his claws was a faint, in reality he was waving his fingers to help ease the casting of a spell.
It was White Wind, a spell that creates focused blades of light energy that can be cast like a vorpal wind away from the caster. He cast the spell in the form of two small angel wings, behind Isk. He was calling on his 'Angelic Powers' from his father, so it might be confusing to the Chaos hunter. The spell formed quickly, because Strange wasn't looking for power, but instead a quick attack. The wings didn't even form completely as he usually would have them before the wings of light broke apart into what looked like tiny feathers, not that Isk would see, them being behind him.
The feathers then flew towards Isk. They now looked like many tiny blades of light. They were aimed in a wide spray all around Isk's body, with a heavy amount aimed towards his open wound.
All the while, Strange never broke his eye contact from his opponent. "Angel's Feathers!" Strange called out in his normal voice after he had cast it.
Raku - June 19, 2008 12:06 AM (GMT)
Here's my chance to stop them! Nero thought to himself. Nero screamed out Reflect! as he ran out of the alley, hoping to end the attack and the fight.
Nero thought to himself, This might end badly.....,but its still worth a try!. As he ran to stop the attack he said out loud, This might hurt.....a lot......
Cavada - June 19, 2008 12:11 AM (GMT)
(OoC: Ach was posting when you did Raku)
"Demon simple minded." Isk commented dryly as Ken accused him of just doing it because of his gods. Isk had chosen those gods, they had not been forced on him. The demons and their chaos followers were always trying to kill him, kill his people, kill the only person he trusted Grey Cloud, kill him again. Isk did not particularily like the trivializing of his explaination either.
The statement requesting to know about how he came to be a demon initially was about to be hositly rejected as Isk caught the grammar. It was just oddly asked, and hinted at him not always being that way. Everything Isk knew told him that demons and chaos were only born. (Actually he did know of a way to become chaotic, but not demonic, and it required consent.)
While Isk was pondering this for a second his opponent broke out in a threat, making Isk stop caring whether his opponent was unlucky or a demon and in a way reconfirmed that he was a demon. The demon attacked before he could though. The oddity of the attack didn't bother him that much, he was too busy being annoyed by all the light it let off. Boy it was a powerful attack though. As Isk hung several feet in the air, he took control of the air around him, trying to gather the only defense he could.
Isk gathered the air that was around him into a sort of shield all around him, a very light shield that blew attacks slightly to the outside. Unfortunately the velocity of the feathers was a little too fast and as such the wind shield really only managed to move the attack away from the very center of his body and out to hit him all over on the arms, legs, side, and such. The main grouping was also redirected, but it didn't change much of anything, Isk was hit with a thousand stabs of light and cringed backwards. He ground his teeth, but using the energy he had left came back into his normal stance, trying to fight through it.
"You done hold back? Fine I done too." With that Isk released his daggers, he had chosen the move to give all his focus, evocation, but he hadn't chosen just one object, he had chosen many smaller ones. The daggers converged, various objects from around the area also converged, such as wooden chairs and signs and a nice heavy rock that was laying nearby. These objects began to swirl around Ken, trying to keep him in, and not running like he had earlier. With this zone set rather quickly Isk sent in his daggers, both headed straight for Ken's stomach, meanwhile he also snuck in his shield to the wall of swirling objects.
(OoC: I think I have another idea on how to get out of this now, still we can just try and see how it works out.
EDIT: Um... probably want to put some in character in there Raku, Zeke gets testy when you do that. Anywho, I've gotta be somewhere, I'll be offline probably for the night guys. Good session.)

Hand of Fate - June 19, 2008 12:41 AM (GMT)
((Raku, please no all OCC posts. If you have something to say in occ tag it onto an RP post or send a PM. Also, to avoid posting confusion I suggest we take turns posting, I'm going now [duh :P ] next can be Raku the Cavada, since Cavada's was the last post in Rp before this one. After that I'll go again, and then Raku and then Cavada, in that order. I thought of a way to end the fighting. I'm going to use NPCs.))
Strange had began charging magic for a follow up attack as soon as he saw his attack had landed. He got distracted though, and turned his attention away from his main opponent.
Strange was surprised to see a reflect spell be cast, apparently it came out too slow to stop his attack though. The Angel's Feathers attack was one that was cast right behind his opponent, so it was hard to stop really. What was most confusing was what came after. A third person to the fight came running in. He didn't look particularly strong to Strange, but he seemed confident enough to announce his presence.
Then the main opponent began his own counter attack. It was a swirl of psychic energy and seemingly random debris. No running from this one, for Strange, either. He noticed the daggers beginning to float and then be sent towards him.
He materialized the power he had been gathering in the form of the spell White Wind in the form of wings, this time behind him. Deciding this would be the end of things now he wouldn't let the towns people that were gathering around distract him, not even that one who tried to use magic.
He pointed his claws at the daggers which were flying at him. He plotted out the path of his spell then prepared to fire it, calling out the name of his technique again. He would have the blades of light attack and stop the daggers as well as go on to pepper Isk. The wings broke off into many feathers again.
"Angel's Fea-" he stopped calling out his spell just as his feathers began to fly forward. "Shit!" He cursed instead, as he diverted the feather's off his previously planned course.
On the building's roof, behind where Isk was floating, two children had come to peek over the top of the roof to see what was happening. If Strange let his feathers attack Isk, the children would be in harms way. This normally wouldn't stop Strange, but the two children were a boy and a girl and looked like they could be related. The girl reminded him of Estel, and that was enough to stop Strange dead in his tracks.
He quickly moved his claws to the side, to desperately try and change the course of his spell, before it was launched. The feathers flew forward toward the daggers, but slightly off course. At the last second they avoided the daggers, Isk, and the children. Most got caught up hitting the flying debris. The others just missed out right.
The daggers, uninterrupted had all but completed their journey towards Strange, he had little time to react. He gripped the spear, that was stabbed into him, twisted his body and used it's staff to deflect the daggers as best he could. Unfortunately this wasn't good enough to stop the attack, and the dagger's cut open his side as they past him. The force of hitting the daggers with the spear also opened his first wound more. The pain forced him onto his knees.
He screamed out in pain, but managed to find the strength to look up again. He wasn't looking towards Isk, but instead to the children. He couldn't see them anymore... did he? No... the two of them, unharmed peeked out from the top of the roof again. They had taken cover when they saw the attack, but now curiosity had gotten them again. They were safe at least.
Raku - June 19, 2008 12:53 AM (GMT)
Nero noticed what Strange was doing so he started to set off his reflect spell. Then Nero noticed that Strange was starting to avert his spell. Nero took notice of this and looked around for the reason. Nero saw 2 children sitting on a rooftop. Nero thought of of plenty of reasons as to why Strange would do this. But he never could figure it out. I need to protect myself...
Nero then crouched and set up reflect around himself and decided to wait this fight out until it calmed down. Whoever you are, you must stop this before innocent peopel are hurt!, screamed Nero. Getting ready to throw his staff at Strange, he thought about it, What would happen if I left this world now...? What would happen if he killed me...?, Nero then started having second thoughts of throwing his staff. I do want to help people, but I can't do that when I'm dead...
Nero then started backing off from the fight towards the alleyway he had emerged from. I really hope he doesn't pull off a warp to right behind me kind of thing...., thoguht Nero. u..um...I hope I didn't do anythign to offend you..., said Nero, while still backing off.
Edit: I hope thats better.
