Title: A Broken Man (Anyone Can Join)
Death - October 10, 2005 02:21 PM (GMT)
Farian walked into the church several hours after he buried his sister Dame. He kept his head down, for he hadn't lifted it since the burial. He kept walking down the aisles with slow paced strides. His feet did not echo for he walked to gentle. His hair stood in place and as he finished his walk to the altar he bent down onto his knees.
He slowly placed his hands on his hood and pulled it off to reveal his face. Both dryed tears and new tears were on his face and his hair was still wet from the great storm over the prism ruins. Farian kept his face as solid as possible but did crack from the pain he just endured. He looked up to the figure infront of him, he just stared into its eyes.
"Great one. I see no reason why you had to kill my sister, I only met her and you bestow me the pain of losing all my family now! You are truly no protecter of this world seeing as you bring more pain onto an already broken soul. This world is truly cruel to those who save it, repaying the great heroes with death. I cannot move from one place to another without seeing death. Why.... why must I endure so much pain, I lose my parents and everything I ever knew when I was too young to understand. I fought for you and save the world from Methos' devilish reign. I watched many of my fellow heroes die for the rest of the world... Now I had to hold off Waugriff and Marius to halt their march to the surface world, so you grant my other voice supremecy over my body. I see no god infront of me, you are truly a failure. Now I watched my sister die right infront of my eyes while I couldn't do anything" Farian stopped to regroup himself from the pain he just talked about.
"Now I see you have bestowed us with another burden. Couldn't you give us a break. I haven't known of a decent sleep for almost three months, if I promise you this one thing... If I destroy it you will grant Dark Forest the neccesary time to rebuild what I know will be destroyed, now I will leave you and your miserable image to yourself but think about my offer. I will not offer it again and if I die... I will surely come for your head in the spirit realm" Farian assured the stature then slowly picked himself up.
He walked over to a stall and layed down on it. He closed his eyes to see the face of Dame smiling at him. Farian let out a single tear and the seeming face began to sing for him. It was beautiful. It was so harmonic the restless Farian had succumb to its magic. He slowly dropped from reality to a sleep. Just for that night he would sleep over his burdens.. That one night and he knew tommorow will only bring more death some where and he would be called to Duty... he knew he would. Farian would go to the large frouping tommorow he saw outside when he came out. They were ranting about the collosus but none knew what he would do... Not even Farian.
Belthore - October 10, 2005 03:26 PM (GMT)
Belthore manuevered himself arounf cobblestone streets and wooden buildings. "stupid humans" Belthore muttered. Belthore could smell the colosses it was coming soon he had been trying to track the colosses for days now and was disappointed with his nose. Belthore stepped on a human on accident " Why can't you live in solitude" again muttered Belthore
Belthore saw a white quartze path large enough for him to walk on without him killing anyone or recking property in the process. "So these are the dragon stables"
said Belthore to himself he walked up the quartz path and noticed pretty red flowers the color of his eyes.. the color of blood there were many park benches and tables where people were eating at turkey and lots of other human foods. " Food is wated on such a populas race We are the true children of the gods" said Belthore again. A Medium sized building loomed in the distance and there were statues of gods..
Belthore saw the Chaos and Dark gods and felt their warmth on him He came to the building and tryed his best to peer inside. Belthore outgoingly said "is anyone in here?" He looked around it was getting close to evening and his eye sight was dimming again Belthore called " Is anyone in here??" Belthore could smell someone in there and was wondering who it was.. " I called loud enough" thought Belthore. "Must be avoiding me I suppose" thought Belthore. Belthore decided to wait outside the entrance for anyone who would possibly come out and see who was calling out to them.
occ- Look how hard I tried :P

The allyway Conundrum just happened to be in was the churches! Gaulmar stood up as did Conundrum. They walked into the church, exhaustion engulfing them. Gaulmar sat down on a bench, tilting it severly. Conundrum looked around, looking for a priest, he saw a man and just figured he was the priest.
"Priest, can you heal my ogre friend over there? He is in a near death state and I dont have the right type of magic. I would explain longer but it would take a few hours! Please help him!"
Conundrum knew deep in his heart that no holy priest would heal an ogre. When the collossus came though, they would need to be as strong as possible... Flames burned in Conundrum's heart, flames of anger. His fellow gnome friends, killed in a big flame. All the fear he had shoved back over one hundred years struck his heart.
Death - October 11, 2005 12:40 AM (GMT)
There was a voice echoing in his head beckoning him to wake up. He tried ot ignore it but another came into the picture. The harmonic sleep was cut short by what seemed to be a gnome. He rubbed his eyes and shook his hair to allow it retake its original position. He stared at the gnome with some frustration in his eyes but then cooled down. "You wish me ot take care of an ogre. Well thats absurd weren't your race slaughtered by these creatures" Farian asked but then stared into the gnome eyes and saw affection.... something Farian would never have again. He stood up and began muttering words of an healing spell that was directed towards the giant monster. As he finished he pushed his arms forward to unleash his spell onto the beast. A green aura came onto the Ogre and began mending the wounds back together. As it finished he looked at him "take care of him, next time it may not that be easy to heal him. What is your name small one I'm quite curious" Farian asked putting his hood over his face once again. "Oh and I am no priest I would never put faith into this weak god that shows no affections for mortals" Farian continued
Mercury - October 11, 2005 01:23 AM (GMT)
Mercury walked past the church on that day. He had seen little of the town since he had arrived. A smile graced his face as he walked the cobblestone streets, touched by the beauty of the town. He wandered the streets aimlessly, for no other than to... well... simply for no particular reason at all. He passed by the chapel and stopped in front of it gazing at the defic monument, large, glorious, though as he saw, completely unnecessary.
He looked on at the conversation that two men were having. A clergyman and peasant? Most likely not. Probably just a kind man helping a passerby. The clergymen were hardly that holy anyway. Just figureheads who got their jobs through influence and coercion. It was not often that a man of faith was truly faithful towards what he was supposed to believe.
Mercury fluttered up to them, raising no more than an inch or two above the cobblestone walk. As he approached, Mercury tried to get their attention, hoping for a look or glance. He landed near them and walked quickly with a long gait towards them. "excuse me, excuse me sirs." he said in a quiet, soft tone, "please excuse the inturruption but could you kindly direct me to the nearest inn? I'm looking for a place to stay to the night..."
Aenarion - October 11, 2005 01:34 AM (GMT)
Conundrum was thankful, but he was still restless... His death lay ahead of him against the collosus. He needed, stiil, more help..
"Are you going to run from the beast that will soon be on its way here? Or will you stay and fight? Surely you will abandon mortals as this god did. You will fight along side them and help us bring the beast down with what strength is left in mortals?"
Conundrum sighed, he said the wrong things. But they were the truth. He walked up to the altar and picked up a single pen and ink. He tore a peice of parchment and signed the near rotting paper. Nothing more was written on it beside his name. He held it out to the man, this was no game. It was a blood pact, a pact to help each-other out as long as they stood. Should he not sign, that would be the most clear thing to him. Although the man may be confused, the gnome had a stern and earnest face.
"A pact is what I ask of you mage. A pact that would be made in other ways of the gnomish custom. But I believe your more accustomed to paper. Write your name, nothing more, and you are indeed bound to a purpose. The purpose is to help one another, not in brother-hood, but in fellowship..."
Ezekiel - October 11, 2005 07:04 AM (GMT)
The doors of the Cathedral opened slowly, a huge man entered slowly his body covered in black robes similar to a priests except no priest at the church was as tall as this man. Ezekiel moved through the pews of the church slowly, his appearance was hidden. Only those who could sense his power would spot him and Ezekiel had been carefully. The Gnome was weak, a fairy hovered lightly above the ground. A dull Orge, Ezekiel could take care of all of these without stopping to feast, but the man near the dead body was a problem. Farian, but something was missing from Farian. His power was some what less then waht it was, Ezekiel returned the knife he held in his hands back to it's sheath and entered the Confessional from the Priest side careful to send a message to Farian. A word with you Farian
Death - October 11, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
Farian thought about it and just smiled "I will have to decline for I haven't found what I must do for this world just yet. As soon as I have found my place and what this world wants from me I will return. Seeing as it keeps bringing burdens upon my shoulder but I must know why. I know I am a gaurdian of this world but why must it keep bringing on burdens to my already heavy shoulders. I am sorry gnome but I am counting on you to make the decisions that will help mankind" Farian was stopped by a message into his mind. He knew who it was immediatly but instead of fury beggining to boil he calmly walked into the confession booth where the undead had took place.
"Ezekiel you wish to see me... What would you like, I must know for I cannot stay much longer. I must find my way through the world... This colussus troubles my mind... I must think about how it may fall or what it is... I must... Protect..." Farian stuttered his sisters death still present in his mind.
Aenarion - October 11, 2005 09:22 PM (GMT)
Conundrum was shocked, not from the decline, but that he was being appointed Guardian? His mouth was gaping, in all his life, he had never heard of a single story of a valiant gnome...
"Me? I am too small, I cannot possibly do it..."
Conundrum sat down pondering this, so utterly confused. This was so sudden... He had no clue what way to take it, it didn't even seem to be his choice! How could he do something he was never supposed to do! His life-task was to forge the ballance between good and evil, not guard the world! He was indeed however, going to guard this town, but it will cause him certain death. The dark-collossus will finish him and his task will be complete...
Ezekiel - October 12, 2005 05:22 AM (GMT)
Ezekiel looked at his ally and enemy carefully, he was a broken man now. All hope had been estinguished from his soul. Ezekiel sighed and pulled a handkerchief from his robes. "Here" he said softly handing it to Farian from underneath the barrier. "I know you have little time and so do I, it seems the demon has left you. No more fire, no more hate. Well you best retrieve that power Farian if your going to get revenge. But that is not why I am here." said Ezekiel pushing a piece of paper towards Farian.
Ezekiel looked grim as he remembered the names on the long list of the family of Greveck "I found this in Claudes Temple, the information is accurate enough, but a name jumps out if you've heard of the Mage who poored his soul into a city." said Ezekiel tapping the paper carefully. It age was enough to prove Ezekiel's hunch could be on the right track. "If I'm right then we're all in trouble. We can't have people charging off to destroy this thing. What's more something keeps pushing at my control of the undead and I think it might be your demon friend."
Death - October 12, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
As Ezekiel pointed onto the name that he was told when he was a child. Lien Graveck the legend that had been told many times to many people across Dark Forest. "That is my ancestor Lien. I was told of what he did for this planet but why are you showing me this?" Farian asked looking up to Ezekiel. A question arose, Ezekiel could be playing with Farian to bring him close to suicide but there was another. To trust an undead or not?
"I have no quarrel with you though my former other side did, Ranick always talked about ruling and killing anything in his way. I do not have the power or spirit to go out for him but as I have heard that the Collusus moves across the ocean destroying everything in its passage. I see no reason either to send men to their death. Ezekiel Ranick is a strong enemy he has the power of manipulation. He can twist souls to his bidding with his gaze. Be careful but more importantly watch yourself for the Dark Collusus I can feel him approaching." Farian explained. He could feel the Dark collusus. And sometimes he could see its path... Why?
Belthore - October 12, 2005 10:30 PM (GMT)
Belthore was growing VERY impatient and began to roar just to get some attension if anyone was in there he knew there was for he could hear the chantings of the healing spell there was obviously a mage in the room he also heard voices many voices a deep voice and a swueaky pitched voice of a gnome *sigh* " There are obviously people in there" Belthore mumbleded to him self as he kicked up some flowers and watched the wither away at his touch. Belthore began digging at the soft brownish groung and watched seeds from flowers enter the hole and decided to make what he had destroyed beautiful again "Its the least I can do" thought Belthore to himself.
Ezekiel - October 13, 2005 10:42 PM (GMT)
"Lein Greveck is Dark Colosuss Farian, You are the son of that thing. Your power is linked to it. Whether you like it or not your family has caused this. I found several books in Necronus about Lein. It seemed many of the liches honoured him, but what makes things worse is his knowledge of transfering his soul could mean he could place it in anything he likes Farian." said Ezekiel pointing his finger at Farian before falling silent.
Ezekiel watched Farian carefully, Ranick wasn't a problem for Ezekiel but he was right Colosuss was a huge problem, this would require alot of work to stop. "If Dark Colosuss is one it's way I suggest that we find Destiny and Ryant. We'll need all the help we can get, at the present neither of us two could ever dream of going near Colosuss." whispered Ezekiel, careful to keep his voice low. He could feel the power of Lein getting closer and closer.
Death - October 14, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
"As you wish Ezekiel. I knew there was something that was linking me to him... But being a descendent to such a man... Dear god help us all...." Farian muttered. "Ezekiel I will put you responsible of finding my old mentor for me, tell him that Farian needs to speak with him. I shall search for Ryant my apprentice. I feel like he has confronted it and it wounded. Ezekiel I am trusting you.... Do not betray again or I shall have your head" Farian assured him
He stood up and looked at the man one last time "Don't fail me." Farian then left the box and walked towards the gnome. "Go to the man who is outside and rally as many men as you can. I must push away my emotions for now... Please do it for me I am counting on you like soo many others." He walked past to see a fairie looking at him. "I haven't met you and I do not know what you are like but I am trusting you Please go with this gnome and rally the men of this city to arms" As he finished he walked to the entrance to see another outside. The other voice he heard while he was sleeping he guessed. "As I said to the others. I wish you to fly out into the country and move the men into the city. A demon approaches this continent and I need resistanst here and Galam. IF we fall then this world is gone. Please now I must go" Farian asked the stranger... He had to trust them all to do this or the world as they knew it would crumble.
Farian looked into the sky and let out a unique whistle. He hadn't seen her for the longest time but Irian knew her master called for her. A streak of white flowed through the air and quickly flew back. It landed shortly after. It was the same the magnificent eagle still held its strength and all but now would be the time to prove it. "Irian ride my precious... Find my dear friend Ryant" Farian whispered into her ear. The eagle screeched in agreement and flapped it's strong wings. As soon as it lifted 5 metres off the ground Farian and Irian were gone. Towards Ryant... For the help he would need. Both emotionally and Physically. Ryant... the man he had learned to love as his own son.
Aenarion - October 14, 2005 01:28 AM (GMT)
Conundrum left the church building, ignoring all else... None would listen to a slightly retarded gnome. But wait... only one other race would, and they were angry! The gnomes! Conundrum left the entire city, searching for his gnome allies!
Ezekiel - October 14, 2005 05:59 AM (GMT)
Ezekiel nodded and stood up placing the papers back into his robes. "Betrayal is not on the top of my lists." said Ezekiel softly, finding Destiny would be hard and somewhat dangerous for Ezekiel. Destiny didn't trust him, not after Marius agreed to let Ezekiel do anything to Destiny once Marius had finished with him. Shaking his head Ezekiel raised his hood and moved back through the Church and towards the city. Ezekiel stopped to listen to the world as it went by, nothing no word of Destiny nor Dracon. Neither had come back from the Cliffs, Ezekiel's search had just begun.
Belthore - October 14, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
Yes, Yes the country side I will go and rally them men Belthore raised his wings into an up-downward arc and began he long acent into the skies he felt the winf beat at his powerful nightblue Wings. " For my help here my wings better shine some golden" mumbled Belthore to himself As he passed over stone and wooden buildings and the packed Bazars " Fool humans Do they not know what is coming and is going to befall this city of many cultures?" Belthore said alloud to himself .
