So what did I miss? I hate to see this place slowly losing activity. Maybe we should all come up with another way we can still keep in contact just in case?

Despite how some of the others may feel, I do still miss everyone on here. It was a lot of fun, but it just feels it is hard to keep in contact with everything going on. stancry2.gif

So how is everyone else feeling?

Eh heh, well, I kinda got sucked into FB interacting with all kinds of eccentric characters. Also spent some time not writing a book stansweating2.gif

You can always send me an email: PStarIV@hotmail.com
I check this one everyday.

ccacomics.com is where I contribute stuff like comics and I'm going to start putting up reviews there as well with a little more professionalism.

If you are the king of all that is umbral and phantasmic I would think I should be a noble (Earl Xorte, Lord Bloodlust, Margrave Scarlet? stanlove.gif ) for my continuation of your efforts and follower status. stantounge.gif

I remember when I was scouring the yahoo groups to drum up interest in the forum. I even sent emails direct to members of the various groups. I think part of it is thinking up new stuff to talk about, even if we end up getting way off topic stantounge.gif

I miss the day when I could post on here and it not lag on me! Sorry for such a late reply. I have issues getting this site to work sometimes. Not sure what is wrong with it.

That and just trying to find time lately is an issue. I had to work like crazy again due to store problems.

I know exactly what you mean, Yami. Once you have something resembling a real life, time becomes a very precious commoditty.

I don't want a life anymore though. I want to be boring again!

Hahaha! I know that feeling. But I don't think I can go back to just sitting around playing videogames while I know that the money I saved is dwindling. Besides, it's hard to convince a nice girl to stick with me for the long term if I act like an irresponsible dunce.

I know the feeling. I am finally having some time off but now I'm paranoid about my financial situation. But my work is too exhausting to work longer than 4 days for only minimum wage. *headdesk* Maybe I should look into factory work?

How long have you been working there? I put in a couple years where I am before they gave me a raise, but even before then I was still making more than minumum wage. If the factory job can get you advancement opportunitties, go for it. If it's just better pay, do it anyway but keep an eye out for something better. One summer I worked for a carpet cleaning business and it was HARD work. I would be dying and totally hating the job and unable to stand it... until I got my paycheck. A really hard job that pays well is better than a sucky job that pays crap.

It will be one year in August. The way Dollar General works is it doesn't pay you more for working harder. It just moves you up the ladder. THEN you get paid more and abused more. None of it is even worth it.

I keep getting told by a lot of people how terrible the factory jobs are. Especially since most of them run off of 12 hour shifts and mandatory overtime. The pay is good but you will lose your mind very quickly. We had one guy become a store manager at Dollar General after he quit being full time at Amazon. I still don't know why he would do such a thing, but he said the work slowly drives you crazy.

Well, if it'll help you pay off a lot of debt quick or build large savings, then maybe a little madness won't be so bad. You've been in some rough finances, no? Whether you move up the ladder at Dollar General or work long and hard at the factory, you're gonna have a tough time making enough for a comfortable living. Which would you rather made you miserable: working a hellish job to support yourself, or relying on the money of a dingbat old woman? It's gonna be a long time before this economy improves and you get more mobility and freedom, so you're gonna be making hard choices no matter what.

It's bizarre, coming back here, finding the place dying. Nothing lasts forever, I suppose.
I told myself to not come back here, yet I did. I don't know why. I just hate that I keep coming back, and I get you guys thinking that I'm here to stay, and then I leave again. I feel bad about it.
But, given the state of this forum, I felt the need to put in at least one more post.

It's good to see that everyone is well. I did actually wonder what happened to some people, which tempted me to come back a few times, but I refrained for reasons stated above.

I'm sorry to hear that your work is troubling you, Yami. I'm unfamiliar with your situation, but my instinct is to stay put. Not that I have any experience in those sorts of things. I still haven't gotten a job, even though I've been looking...
Boogie put it best. There really aren't many jobs and there's little hope for relief to come soon. Who knows when you'll be able to get a better job? Are there even many factory jobs available in your area?
But, I really don't know your current situation. Either way, you tough choices to make. I wish you best of luck.

I miss Suz, too. She hasn't been around for ages. Last I talked to her was about a year ago for a comission. Haven't heard much from Yami, I'm guessing she's still suffering in grinding poverty and from sucky relatives.

So how has life been treating you, Rosalyne? Any interesting developments?
