The Crier
The university student-run newspaper, The Crier's headlines are a depressing read: half of it is bad, sensationalized news, and the other half is taken up by missing and 'have you seen me?' ads.

Flashbacks
Take a stroll down Memory Lane. Air out the skeletons in your closet. Look back to the good old days. Just kidding. It's Arkham; there were none.

Orne Library
The University's crowning glory, the library is a repository for some 400,000 handpicked books, including the famed Necronomicon. Although the marble halls are cold and drafty, the Gothic stricture is well lit by tall, arched windows that allow some light to seep into the otherwise dreary room.

Campus Residences
Where you rest your head is pretty telling of your place on the university ladder. Unless you can brave the oddballs of Arkham's shady apartments, lowerclassmen are usually shuffled off to the hellish end of the dorms.

College Green
The central hub of the university, every building is but a ten-minute walk from here. Staff often check to see if the students sprawled on the grass are loitering, or dead. It's usually a coin toss.

Locksley Auditorium
A graceful red-brick Georgian structure built in 1779, it's the oldest building on campus. Ideal for student assemblies, theater productions, and mob lynchings. Apart from the main hall's 250-seat interior, Locksley Auditorium also contains conference rooms for smaller meetings.

Carter Memorial Hall
Home to the Liberal Arts programs, this four-story building was constructed in 1861, funded generously by the affluent Carter family to honor Edmund Carter. It also provides a practice venue for Miskatonic's unenthusiastic string quartet and glee club.

Atwood Science Hall
Housing advanced laboratories, the hall's fully-stocked shelves and state-of-the-art equipment are perfect for after-hours experimentation. An auxiliary powerhouse within the annex provides the large electrical loads called for by more... outlandish projects.

University Exhibit Museum
Open to the public, among the displays are a large natural history section including a mounted "brontosaur" skeleton and many other, smaller fossils. A series of halls contain geological samples, stuffed animals, and dramatic dioramas concerning primitive man.

The Witch-House
A boarding house just on the outskirts of Arkham, over 300 years old and said to be cursed. If you look up its history, most of its boarders suffer a premature, if not painful, death. But hey, rent's cheap, so it hasn't stopped students and faculty alike to take residence here.

St. Mary's Hospital
Set in uptown Arkham, St. Mary's is a familiar site for the unfortunate victims of the beasties and shady figures roaming the town. Most of its living patients can be found in its Psychiatric ward.

Orne's Gangway
A seedy, low-rent district in Arkham mostly peopled by the poorest townspeople or visitors on their way out of town. The place is teeming with shady characters: Nobody knows what goes on behind its closed doors, and nobody asks. Crime is at its highest here; people go missing down its alleys all the time.

The Nameless Island
Ground on which witches once danced, the island is supposedly deserted and strictly off-limits to students. But everyone knows the hooded necromancers and cultists of Arkham still haunt its dense woods at night.

Christchurch Cemetery
Arkham's own cozy boneyard. During an outbreak of typhoid in 1905, the cemetery was described as brimming with the unembalmed bodies of the dead.

The Blasted Heath
Just west of Arkham, it's a fitting name for the five acres of desolate, dead land in the middle of the Massachusetts countryside. A meteorite had crashed nearby years ago, poisoning the surrounding area and rendering it a wasteland.

Saltonstall Street
The high street where the Arkham's most affluent and rich take residence. But even then, these folk are not immune to the darkness looming over the town.

Miskatonic River
This New England river, the university's namesake, runs through town and all across Massachusetts. Native American lore tells of the Great Spirit Miskatonic, who could drive whole tribes into madness and turn them into cannibals. Once in a while a swimmer will be dragged under, which the locals will credit to something more sinister than a strong current.

Innsmouth
Over the years, the once-prosperous town of Innsmouth has fallen into a horrendous state of decay, with many of the buildings rotting and on the verge of collapse. Its people are mostly fishermen and shipbuilders, many of whom haror a terrible secret about their not-quite-human heritage.

Dunwich
Dunwich is stated to be one the oldest settlements in the country. The region has many hills, several of which bear large stone columns of unknown origins. Most of Dunwich has fallen to ruin and its populace suffer a reputation for being inbred, uneducated, and very superstitious.

Kingsport
This coastal town is Arkham's nearest neighbor, located just a morning's stroll away. Draped in mist, its soothing atmosphere and beautiful setting beckons to vacationers, but there are unspeakable things crawling beneath its burrows and lurking in the fog, waiting to terrorize residents and tourists alike.
