Uhm... yea, I would love to ask these question since I've been in the RPing business for some time now...

Is the 'One place at a time' policy implied here or does anyone can post where ever they want and stuff. I just have to ask this since I'm used in such strict RPing about one place at a time, and I'm just wondering if this is applied here too...

Thanks!

-Midori

It sort of depends on where you plan on posting and what is going on with all other roleplayers. For example, with the dance, people are up and about, hospital wing, common rooms, the great hall, and hall ways, those make sense though. However, if you are to go and post in a classroom right now...not so much. Also, certain places are open at certain times, such as hogsmaede. So...it really just depends on what time we say it is in the roleplay. If its during class, we prefer to have people there rather than eating breaskfast, but sometimes it happens.

So that mean I can post where ever the place is available, just as long as I follow the rules? I still don't get it.... O-o

All of the threads are open for posting. but it has to be at the general timeline of the forum.

at this moment it is about 11 o'clock on a friday night. Everything needs to be based around this time. it encouraged people to read around and get socially involved with other character instead of focusing on their own story. This is a social forum, not a story forum.

all of this is explained in the announcements board.

Uh, but what if we live in a different timezone?

And I still don't understand, I asked if the 'One place at a time' post in RPing is applied. ^^''

okay, to risk using a Doctor Who term. Time is Relative on this forum. For me at this exact moment its March, about 430 on a friday. This has nothing to do with time on the forum.

Your character can only be active in a thread at one place at one time. YOu cannot be eating breakfast in the great hall and studying in the library at the same time.

At this exact moment, your character is in the great hall. I'm not sure why, as the ball is broken up and everyone is returning to their common rooms.

I will, soon, anounce a New day. meaning that most activity on the forum is dying down. and then everyon1 will revert to their common rooms and start over.

Everything is running similtaneously in one time frame.

Sorry if thats a lot of text. But i'm in the middle of writing a 2000 word film study essay.

cool ^^ i didnt want to intrude on events.

time zones are fun but with the adding of daylight savings and the unending march of time and the lose and gain im sure it is made up somewhere down the line or with in the year.

Yeah thats the one positive about Queensland. Were smart enough not to have a policy that forces us to get up an hour earlier than usual.

I think the policy is starting to grow on me. Thats why they've instituted a three year trial. by the time they bring it round for vote we'll all be used to it.

On an Admin note. This is a suggestions and questions thread. General discussions need to be in the general board. Sorry Guys.

You also mentioned time zones....I think myself and one other person are the only people in this board that live in the states. All others are in Austraila, and you, I think in the UK. We've been making it work over the past two years, nearing its third, so time zones aren't a big issue.

Finally, you answered my question, all I was asking if that rule is applied or not, I guess that took a while. Thanks! happy.gif
