Bellatrix took her place at the table. A hush had fallen over Hogwarts the result of last nights’ events. She’d listened to the explanation provided by the teachers and then compared it to what the Guard intelligence reports had said. She had, however, yet to see Augustus. Bella believed that his report would be the most entertaining and enlightening by what it said, and what it didn’t say.
The Syltherin table was also quiet, they’d lost one of their own to an outside factor, even after the events of yesterday, there was no logical enemy to target, no one to blame. Except Killerman.
Bellatrix sipped her drink. Yes, ‘Gus’s report would be the interesting one. However, she doubted it would tell the truth, somehow the event lay too close to reflecting the true character of Augustus Rookwood. Nobody knew the real Gus, and Bella believed he’d kill to defend that fact.
This hush wouldn’t last for long. When united the Slytherin house was an unrivaled force, yet, a unharmonious Slytherin was a force would cause a greater fear. Internal struggling, rivalry and conflict would present as a problem.
She finished her tea. The Guard needed a public demonstration of its power, despite the consequences, otherwise much would be lost.
