ok... I just finished this one again (can't wait for book 4 <33) and does anyone else thing the ending really sucks?

i mean, you have this big climactic faceoff with the anti-Keedrow conspirators, and thennn BAM it's all over, and there's a really crappy scene at the citadel. wtf?

i dunno. i just hope book 4 makes up for it tongue.gif

book 4 will totally make up for it. i mean, pearl-sama is the most awesome writer i've ever read, totally kakkoi~!

i think that a lot of people are just overlooking the symbolism in the citadel scene. like...a lot of the little background details kind of echo back to that 1 scene in the 1st book...i almost didn't notice until i read the scenes side by side, and then i was all like WOW. and then it's almost the same, but then some details are different...i think we're supposed to see that and think about if things were different, what would have happened...wow, i'm rambling here. i'm such a baka. tongue.gif

i finished walkign the razors edge only like a week ago, i dont know how i missed that.
now i need to read them side by side. i wonder what would happen if those things were changed in the bginning? it seems kinda strange thoguh. do you think the 4th book will deal with it more, or was this just something to think about the one time...I hope that they tells us more about this, i didnt like the scene at all at 1st, but now its more interesting...
i have to go read it again now, though.

I finished Razor a week or so ago. Thing is, I haven't read Spring Swing - searched everywhere for it and couldn't get hold of a copy. Got it on order finally, but I couldn't wait for Razor when I had the book and everything. I looked up brief spoilers for SS so I could understand Razor, which I normally hate doing, but oh well.

Rambling, sorry. dry.gif

Anyway, my opinion on the ending - I liked the parallel with the opening scene in Unforgiven. Pearl's obviously leaving it wide open, which would have been risky with a first book but is permissible in the third of a series.

I did think that the ending was a little weak when I first read it, but then I saw Syln's post and just had to read it and the Unforgiven scene again.

...You see, this is why I love Pearl so much. Her writing can be so brilliantly subtle.

The odd thing, though, is that having the parallels with the first book there makes it seem as if Razor's Edge is the last book in the series... even though we know that Blood and Thunder is going to come out. Now I'm really curious about how she's going to write the fourth book.

The ending isn't too bad, really.

And I agree, the parallel with the beginning of Unforgiven is great. Am I one of the only ones who thought, "Hey, this sounds familiar" right away when reading the ending?
