Deadly deception

Hanna I know school must be killer it being sophmore/freshman year, but we need more of this story. I'm not going mad from anxiety, I am not going mad. hahahahahahahahahahahahahaheheeheeeheeeehehehehehe

Kari awoke with a start. For a brief second she didn't know exactly where she was. Then it all came back to her. She was in a suite in the president's mansion. She took in the large room and all the ornate furnishings, how can people live like this? Kari thought to herself. To her it seemed in poor taste to live with such extravagance's when so many people around were living in squalor. Throwing back the covers Kari stood up and started getting dressed. She was just finishing when she heard a knock on the door. "I'm coming Master!" Kari went and threw open the door. Instead of Ryse standing there as she had expected is was Lars Bendi who greeted her.
"Good morning Kari. Your Master had breakfast early this morning and decided to have a look around the city. He told me to tell you when you awoke that he will be back shortly and for you to go ahead and eat."
Kari found this very hard to believe. Ryse never went anywhere without at least telling her beforehand, but she really had no reason to believe that Lars Bendi was lying to her. Closing the door behind her, Kari followed Lars as he led her down the hallway to the dining room. She saw President Horth sitting there enjoying his meal.
"Kari my dear, please have a seat." President Horth said, motioning for Kari to take a seat beside him.
As she sat down, Kari took in the large variety of food; the meats' and breads' and different kinds of pastries'. Kari knew that this was not and unusual meal for the leader of a planet, but she did find it odd considering that this planet was going through an extreme famine. Kari said none of this however. Turning to President Horth she asked, "I was wondering if it would be possible for me to take a look around the estate until Ryse gets back."
"Of course," President Horth said amiably. "If you like I could have someone show you around."
Kari took an immediate dislike to this idea. It would be much easier to look around on her own. "Thank you sir, but I wouldn't want to take anyone away from their work. Besides, Ryse will be back shortly and then I'm sure he will have something that we need to do."
Lars Bendi, who had missed none of the exchange between President Horth and the Jedi now interjected, "Well if I were you I would be very carefull where you wander young one. I would hate for something to happen to you."
Kari felt a slight chill. Was that a threat? Covering up her discomfort she asked with a smile, "What could possibly happen to me with so much security around?"
The smile that Lars returned was as cold as ice. Leaning over toward Kari he said in a low voice, "When you keep turning up rock's looking for snakes', eventually your going to get bitten."
