Aiden was once again in the gym. He was pissed, at everything he seemed. The month was coming to an end and he still didn’t have the money to pay for his sister’s medication. As much as he wanted to kick Moore ass he needed that man to provide him the money to pay for her medication. And so here he was, fists taped up as he went to town on the punching bag, music blasting in the room. He wasn’t drunk, but he was buzzed and that made the need for him to work out grow stronger. He focused on the rhythm of his fists slamming into the punching bag. He focused on his blocks, his dodges, and his punches. Anything to drown out that voice that kept telling him he needed to fight soon or else he was going to sell his tv to a pawn shop. Hell, he was the highest grossing gladiator at the moment. How hard was it to get a fight going?
No. Focus. One…Two…Three…Dodge…Right hook…Uppercut…Duck…Belly hit… He took a deep breath when the song changed, pulling him back out into the world. Aiden had a lot to do and only a small amount of time to do it. It didn’t help the specimen he was observing in lab had up and died on him. It didn’t help that he now had to write an entire paper on those dead pieces of cells. He had a Sachems’ Circle meeting to attend. He had some kids to keep an eye on. And he needed to check in with his sister, not to mention buy his dog some more food. Thank god he went with a dachshund rather than the great dane he had originally intended to get. There was no way he could have afford both the dog food for the larger dog and the medication for his sister if he had chosen that path. Instead he had gone with the smaller, but more entertaining it seems, Protozoa. Proto kept him busy and was a much needed comfort when he got home. It didn’t seem right to give him up when he had other positions he could pawn to bring in the quick cash.
Angrily, Aiden turned back to the bag, adding some roundhouse kicks to his routine. He was going to fight soon, that much was clear. He made that piece of crap Moore enough money that not fighting wasn’t an option. He wasn’t going to deny that a part of him was beginning to look forward to the fights. He was beginning to enjoy the thrill, the adrenalin rush that flooded his system, the roar of the crowds as he took on his opponent. He enjoyed the satisfaction that he was highest grossing fighter right now. Almost as much as he enjoyed cellular biology which was saying something. He shook his head trying to dismiss the thoughts. He couldn’t let anyone else know what he was thinking. Liya would kill him. Thinking of his sister Aiden lowered his arms and moved to turn off the music. He still felt guilt over letting her get hurt. For letting someone else take Oliver out. That should have been him. And now here he was, acting like Moore’s freakin lap dog. He needed to visit his sister. Liya always made him calmer. Only her and Jasmine had the ability of turning a bad day around the moment he laid eyes on them.
Smiling, Aiden grabbed his towel to wipe off the bag before heading to the showers. He needed to find a time to take them out. They both deserved to enjoy an evening of fun while being doted on by Aiden. Of course for his sister it would just be a way for him to get her to have more fun. As for Jasmine, well, his woman deserved to be treated like a queen and he would make sure he was. Aiden stripped down, grinning as his thoughts turned to his girlfriend while he showered. He was miles away already, which he’d like to use as an excuse for why he never heard someone else enter the room. Aiden left the shower and dried off. It wasn’t until he had already dressed himself halfway and reached for his shirt that he noticed someone else was in the room.
Bentley bid goodbye to his friends as the group of men parted ways. He had met up with some friends on campus and the group of men had sat around a table drinking coffee and telling lies. That was what he and his friends were good at…telling lies and keeping secrets. Ben himself was also good at gathering information about people and using it to blackmail them later on. He began his long, quiet walk back to his apartment. Ben slipped his hand into his khaki pants to retrieve his cell phone. He pulled the device out to check for any missed calls or texts. He sighed when he saw that he had a missed call from his father and that he man had left a voicemail. Bentley typed his voicemail passcode and continued to walk while listening to the man’s message. Mr. Jones had left yet another voicemail telling his son to come home and see his mother and like all the other messages that were left by his father, Ben deleted. The man didn’t want to go to Evanston. He had not seen his father in months and he had liked it that way. His elder brother, Brad, had gone home to see their folks and every time Brad went, Bentley declined to go with. Their mother had visited them on numerous occasions but their father wanted them to drop everything and come visit him. Ben refused. He was no longer going to drop everything for his father nor was he going to let the man dictate his life…those days were over.
The man slipped his cell back into his pocket as he walked past the buildings on campus. It was a nice day to be out and about and he passed several people hanging out on campus. Ben waved to those he knew as walked and stopped to make conversation with a girl he had taken a class with. From the corner of his eye he had spotted him walking. He kept his cool as he watched the man walk into the sports complex. Follow him, he thought as the guy disappeared into the building. Bentley bid his classmate a farewell before slightly jogging into the sports complex. Upon entering he looked around for the man but he didn’t spot him. He walked further into building heading towards the gym where he had assumed the man had disappeared. His assumptions were right. Bentley took a seat outside the gym as he watched the man. Aiden Kelly, he thought to himself as he narrowed his eyes at the man. Bentley had all of Aiden’s on paper information, like where he born, birthday, siblings, parents, major/minor, and such. Those were easy to come by because he had the right connections, but Ben was more concerned with his off paper information. What he knew for sure was that Aiden was one of seven Sachems’ Circle members which meant he was Kaos. Which also meant Ben couldn’t stand the guy. He also knew Aiden’s younger sister, Liya, was sick. The whole university knew thanks to Oliver. Liya Kelly was fighting HIV and her brother Aiden was fighting for the gladiators to pay for her medicine.
Ben watched as Aiden turned his music off and headed to the showers. The man waited several minutes before getting up to follow Aiden into the locker room. He scanned the locker room as he entered and saw no sign of Aiden which meant the guy was in the shower. Bentley took a seat on one of the benches and once again waited for Aiden. He sat and stared at the lockers ahead of him while waiting on Aiden to exit the shower. Ben thought about what he was going to say to the guy. He in some sorts needed Kelly’s help but Bentley was not going to openly admit that him. instead he had a better idea. He stayed still as Kelly came from out the showers. Ben continued staring as the lockers as he waited from Kelly to notice him. he finally got his wish when Aiden finally realized he was there. “Hello Aiden,” he said turning his head to face Aiden with a smirk on his face. Ben slowly got up from the bench and fixed his clothing before speaking again. “I’m not here for trouble…I have a proposition for you. And before you say no you might want to hear me out.”

It's just us against the world
You got one eye watching you And one eye what to do So be careful who is it you're talking to You got one eye watching you And one eye what to do So be careful what it is you're trying to do And be careful who it is And be careful when you're walking into view.Ooh oooh oooh Got one eye on the road and one on you Don't be be don't believe a word It's just us against the world And we just gotta turn to be heard I hear those crocodiles ticking.
The work out had been what he needed. It kept him pumped and it helped him to release the pent up frustrations he had. The shower helped calm him down, allowing him to go back to normal. He was eventually planning on meeting up with friends which meant he couldn’t be in a crappy mood then. Aiden was good at holding in his temper. Years of personal training had kept him from just blowing up whenever someone pissed him off. Instead he could try to keep things in, at least until he was pass the whole wanting to kill the man phase.
Aiden looked over at Bently before slowly pulling his shirt over his head, not yet talking. He was pissed to see the man in front of him. Ben was not only a SOS member, that much Aiden knew, but he was also Oliver’s friend. In his eyes that made Bently lower than low. Since Lebevon had leaked Liya’s secret to the world, Aiden had wanted his blood. Now that the man was dead, Aiden was sorry he wasn’t the one who did it. Aiden was sorry he didn’t get to beat the living daylights out of the man who had humiliated his sister. Aiden was not in the mood to deal with the dirt bag’s best bud; getting more frustrated as time went on. Aiden had no intention of even staying to talk with Bently. He wasn’t in the mood and there was no guarantee that if he stayed they both wouldn’t be walking out of here with a few black eyes. God, that smirk. Aiden wanted to wipe it off that smug little face. He could. In his opinion Bently wasn’t much competition. Hell, Aiden was one of Moore’s top gladiators! Who said he couldn’t kick Jones’ ass enough to make the man wary to come near him again? At least that’s what Aiden wanted right now. “Hello Bently.” He made sure to keep his voice even despite the fact that he was surprised to see the man standing in front of him and frustrated with the fact that he hadn’t heard anyone enter. He straightened up before he crossed his arms over his chest. “Peeping Tom doesn’t seem to be your style, but hey everyone’s got to have a hobby right?” Well, Aiden wasn’t exactly planning on being completely civil. Maybe he’ll get around to it later.
Not here for trouble? Aiden nearly laughed out loud. Yeah, because he’s supposed to trust the guy who was best friends with that slime ball Lebevon and hung around a bunch of SOS dicks. “And I’m supposed to believe that bull? You’re always causing trouble Jones and you expect me to believe I want to hear anything that comes from you?” Aiden wanted nothing of this. He wanted to pack up his stuff and leave the other man standing there. Aiden shook his head as he stuffed everything into his gym bag, attempting to ignore the fact that Jones was still there.
Aiden slowed down, the fact Bently was still here was weird. Why would Jones come here? Obviously it wasn’t for trouble or there would have been a fight already. He didn’t think Jones was one to waste time just to throw a few punches. Aiden turned back to Bently, putting his gym bag back on the bench. He took a deep breath before speaking again. “Alright, I’m listening. What did you want Jones? And more importantly, why didn’t you take your proposition to one of your brothers? Why come to me?” He had a point. Aiden didn’t understand why Bently would come to him over the other SOS. He sure as hell would go to Sachems’ Circle before he planned on fraternizing with a SOS member. Except Ciatti, but Aiden didn’t truly consider that man SOS. He was more Kaos material and he was starting to hate the idea of sending his best friend over the enemy.
Bentley released a slight laugh after Aiden had made a comment about peeping toms. Ben simply nodded before sticking his hands back in his pockets. He was fully aware that he was the last person that Aiden wanted to see and that Aiden was probably annoyed and pissed that Bentley was here. Despite all that Ben was not going to leave until the man in front of him heard him out. “Well yeah…but I prefer to spy on better looking specimens,” he said allowing his cocky smirk to slide across his face before continuing. “Ya know…like Jasmine.” Bentley was aware that provoking the man was not a good especially since he wanted to compromise with the gentlemen, but Ben couldn’t help himself. He had to take the opportunity to get under Aiden’s skin which was more than likely a bad idea because Aiden could very well beat him down and no one would come to Ben’s rescue.
Ben frowned at Aiden’s laughter. He didn’t find anything funny about what he had said. Ben was serious about not wanting any trouble though his previous comment would have said otherwise. An offended look crossed Bentley’s face after Aiden had said that he always caused trouble. How dare he say that Ben always caused trouble? If anybody was starting trouble it was those no good Koas members. The man refrained from speaking what was running through his mind because that would surely end in an altercation and nothing would be solved. Bentley sighed before starting to speak. “You want to hear what I have to say.” Ben understood why Aiden was being bitter and it wasn’t just because Bentley was president of SOS. The bitterness radiating from Aiden spawned from the fact that Oliver had broadcasted Liya’s most intimate secret. Ben was hated by association…plain and simple.
He tilted his head at Aiden’s question. His brothers could not help him in the matter that he had wanted accomplished. Only Aiden could help him…because he had a bit of leverage over Aiden. He thought about how to word what he was going to say to Aiden. The wording had to be right or Aiden would probably turn down the offer. Bentley rubbed his face before making a face at Aiden. “My brothers don’t have the right intel to help me…but you,” he said pointing to Aiden. “Do…and I have leverage over you.” Ben began to circle Aiden with his hands in his pockets. Liya was sick and Bentley knew Aiden needed money to pay for the girl’s meds. It was simple…Bentley would supply the med money and Aiden would supply the information on Travis. It would be a clean trade…if Aiden agreed.
"Do you like Mr Moore," Bentley asked Aiden. There were very few people that would actually say yes to the question and most would simply say he frightened them. Ben had asked the question to see what side Aiden was on. He was hoping that Aiden would say he disliked the man with a passion that way when he proposed spying on Travis it wouldn’t that big of a deal. If he said no…Bentley would have to resort to blackmailing him into doing it…either way Bentley had it in his mind that Aiden was going to help him. “If you were given the opt out of being a gladiator…would you?”

He didn’t like being taken off guard. Aiden liked having some control of his life. Lately that control had been slipping away from him bit by bit. Everything that was left he desperately clung to. Knowing someone had been able to sneak up on him had left a bad taste in his mouth. The man wanted nothing more than to just beat the crap out of Bently for the mere reason it would make him feel better about slipping up. Knowing he could kick some ass was a good way to ignore the fact that he hadn’t realized someone was in the room. The man’s slight laugh, however, caused Aiden to lift an eyebrow. The words that soon followed only continued to aggravate him as he let out his breath slowly. He was not going to lose control of his anger. What happened to him being the calm one of the Sachems’? At the moment that did not even seem to be an option. Especially considering the fact that another man dared to even joke about watching his girl. Aiden wasn’t the most rational man when it came down to the two girls of his life: Liya and Jas. “Fuck off Jones.” His jaw was locked shut as he nearly growled out the words, not trusting himself to speak anything else, let alone attempt to move anywhere. Not when he was seconds away from punching Bently in the jaw.
He had the gym bag slung over his shoulder, every intention of walking out that door and not looking back. He couldn’t argue with the fact that a part of him did want to hear what the SOS president had to say. How could he not be curious? Bently was coming to one of the Sachems’. These sorts of things didn’t happen everyday. He frowned at the other man but he wasn’t walking out of there. Not yet. He could give the man a chance to speak right? It wasn’t like he would actually agree with Jones about anything. He hadn’t in the past. The man’s choice of friends was a good enough reason for Aiden to disbelieve anything from the other man’s mouth. He put the bag down and crossed his arms over his chest. He now just had to wait for his questions to be answered and he could be out of here. There was nothing Bently could offer that he would want.
His eyes narrowed as he watched the other man carefully. He didn’t trust him. The fact that the man didn’t speak right away unnerved him. As Bently spoke, his own mouth began to deepen in a frown. What sort of intel? If the bastard was daring to ask him to give him Kaos secrets, Aiden would knock him flat on the floor before he left. His body tensed at the notion of leverage. He didn’t like the sound of that one bit. In fact, that idea made him want to demand to know what he had on him. The idea of Liya being used against him would never come to mind. At least not so long as he was making money at Moore’s. “What leverage are you talking about?” He followed the other man’s movements around him, becoming even more comfortable as time went on.
The question had him scoffing, a smile coming to his lips. “He’s almost as big a dick as Lebevon was. So no, I don’t like him.” Sure, he was smart enough not to push the man but that didn’t mean he had to like him. Moore was his boss merely for the fact that he needed the money. He’d continue working for the man until he had found another position that would supply him with as much money as he could earn from a couple nights a week. That wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. The cost of his sister’s medication was draining but he wasn’t about to just leave her to fend for herself. At the next question his arms dropped down to his side, for once completely interested in what the other man was saying. He hesitated before he spoke, his mind torn on the answer. He wanted out. He didn’t want to be controlled by Moore anymore. But he needed the money. He couldn’t afford the medication on his own. Not without selling his dog, all his possessions, and giving up his apartment. Then there was the fact that he was slowly becoming addicted to the adrenaline rush. He didn’t want to admit it but the fact was still there. “Yes, I would. But that would put Liya in danger. I can’t make that kind of money anywhere else.”
