Ken Grossman would easily be my choice. For those of you that don't know who he is or what he did, he is the founder of Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. He took a hobby and turned it into the first micro brewery. From there Sierra Nevada then broke out of the mirco brewery classification (less than 25,000 bbls/year) in 1990 to producing over 780,000 barrels in 2010. I'd want to chat about how he went from a man just enjoying his hobby in his own kitchen to making his passion a household name in the beer community. Of couse, we'd have to have a pair of glasses on the table one filled with the second most popular craft beer, Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale, and Hoptimum in my own. After introductions, we'd get up and start touring the brewery. We would be discussing his favorite choice of hops and yeast in creating the finest ales and lagers out of California. Myself, I'd be trying to convince him to join me in using some kiln-roasted caramelized malt and making our own collaboration nut brown ale. Maybe even stepping up a notch and creating an imperial stout that was pleasing to anyone's palate. The next stop would be what's known as “The Big Room,” one of the nicest music venues any brewery has to offer. Any local band would be good, but if anything were possible a reenactment of The Last Waltz would be taking place.
