The Daily Dane The Daily Dane was founded in 1801 and is known for its serious and in-depth articles. In 1952, journalism-legend Burt Caffrey published the first article ever revealing the secret society, Sons of Silence. Since then the Daily Dane has been highly respected and its credibility is rarely doubted.

Dane Quad Surrounded by the dormitory buildings, the quad is many students' favorite place on campus. Covered in lush grass and spotted with trees and benches, the quad is the perfect place to sit outside and study, throw around a football, build a snowman, or in the summer months, lay outside in a bikini to tan.

Bennett Library The Main Library, home of more than 5 million books and many carefully preserved first editions. In one end of the library there are chairs and tables for study groups and late night paper-writing. Downstairs, there are private study rooms if you're lucky enough to find a free room. There a few computers throughout for research and printing. But the main attraction is usually the stacks ;)

Computer Labs Over 200 computers, divided in half by Macs and PCs, the computer lab is home to the few students without their own personal computers. Many of the computers have special programs required for classes, but the main attraction is the printers. With a $30 printing allotment every semester, this is where every one prints out their thousand of reading assignments. There are also a few classrooms for computer science and Excel related business classes.

Infirmary You'll wait for at least an hour, but with the local hospital 15 minutes away in D.C., sometimes the infirmary is all you've got. They give a lot of flu shots, but they're also known for their discretion with the most common ailments: STDs...
You can also get pretty much anything in the little pharmacy inside.

Lyon Mall Home to all of the classroom and lab buildings. Whether it's a 400 person lecture or a 12 person seminar, there are hundreds of classrooms keeping Dane running. The buildings surround the Lyon Mall, a large grassy area with a statue in the middle of John Francis Dane. Many people tap his foot for luck before they take a test, but many others pee on it when they're drunk so the choice is yours...

The Randall Performing Arts Center A safe haven for the many drama, dance, and music majors. The Performing Arts center has classrooms, practice space, and of course, performance space for shows. Space may be rented out to student organizations for concerts or shows. This is also where the Westcott Theater group performs their big musical every semester.

The Book Store No Student can avoid it. The book store has all of the books you'll need for any Dane class. There are separate, smaller ones around campus for specific subjects, but this is really the one stop shop. You'll pay a lot less if you order the books used on Amazon, but if you're worried about having them on time then this is where you get them. Just make sure you really want to take Psych before you shell out $150 on the text book.

Off Campus Housing In a lower class section of the residential part of Lyon Park, many students rent attached houses from some of the more unsavory landlords. Only a ten minute walk from campus, gives you the feel of independence from the dorm without the cost or the distance of living in Washington D.C.

The Insane Dane Built in 1961, the Insane Dane has long been the local bar and hangout for those students old enough to drink... or for the students who slip by the door unnoticed. It's the place to go to avoid studying or homework, but definitely not to avoid anyone from campus. You get a free T-shirt on your 21st birthday, but it's not the classiest bar in the world...
