It was crazy how the day before was beautiful and sunny and the next, it's a downpour. It definitely fit the mood the nineteen year old was in. Her lips curled into a small smile as she grabbed her order of coffee and stepped to the side. Yawning slightly, not really getting any kind of sleep since Gabriel kept her up for most of the nights. She hasn't seen her pillow since the night before. Luckily, her bundle of joy was knocked out sleep in his bed as her aunt watched over him until she got back home.
Happy that her family was in town, but hating that they would be leaving soon. It wasn't often that she got to see her mother's side of the family. They were the wild bunch. Once they were gone, she was on her own once again. Her house would no longer be full of voices, except for the baby's cries and her pup roaming around the house. She didn't know why she was still there. There were memories everywhere, and she hated it. His car still sat in the garage. Once in awhile, she would drive it around town. Still, it wasn't the same.
Shaking her head, James just wanted to forget, but she wouldn't allow herself. She took a deep breath, exhaling before picking up her cup while stirring the small stick. Turning on her heels, she made her way through the small crowd, only to for herself to step out into the rain. She wanted to walk, take her sweet time to get herself home, but that would be dumb of her to do so. Taking a drink, her body collided with something...well someone. She took a step back, happy that she didn't spill the hot concoction all over herself. "I'm so sorry. I should have been paying...attention." Her words trailed off, seeing who the person was in front of her. This shouldn't be awkward at all. "Hello Aidan..."

♥ The rain wasn't going to stop the dark haired man from venturing outside his beach house. He needed some fresh air again and some new ideas. Ashwick residents were interesting in their own way and they all had their own story to tell. He knew he was positive to find something to spark his mind in order to write something worth reading amount. The thought on what even to write about was so far that he was growing tired of just thinking period. Most of his nights were spent writing until the wee hours of the morning and it was really starting to affect his attitude with people these days.
He was so in deep thought that he jumped feeling his body hit another. His eyes glanced up seeing what idiot wasn't paying just as much attention as he was and he saw the last person he expected to see. James Acosta of all people. He cursed silently under his breath looking at the coffee cup that hit the ground by luck missing them both. This was going to be very awkward and weird considering their first conversation in years some month or two ago. She had spoken first.
Aidan just stared at her at a lost for words. He will admit that she did look beautiful but his mouth was completely draw. His eyes went from her face all the way down to her shoes until he looked out onto the street clearing his throat. "Uh, hey." he brought his hand up rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. What else was his suppose to say? "Nice job at missing getting spilled coffee on me. Guess I was caught up in my thoughts." the man shrugged stuffing his hands in the pockets of his denim jeans.

Her eyes wondered, giving him an once over. He looked great, a lot older. He was handsome. She bit down on her bottom lip, giving a slight smile, hearing his hello. She didn't want this to turn into a disaster. The last time the two of them spoke, it really wasn't the best of times. But now, they were face to face and hopefully, things would be a little bit different this time around. That's what she was praying for.
She was pissed that her coffee had slipped out of her hands and crashed to the floor. She looked at him, shaking her head. "I'm sorry…" She muttered, kneeling down to pick up her cup and seeing that was barely anything left to it. Now, she would have to spend another few dollars for a coffee because she didn't want to leave empty handed. "You and me both," she stood to her feet, another closed smile against her lips. She looked around before turning her attention back to him. "…You look good." He actually did compared to her. She had to look rough, hair pulled up in a ponytail, no make up, hoodie, sweats and sneaks. She was close to being dead to the world, but at least showing some enthusiasm in actually seeing him in front of her again.
She hoped that she could carry a conversation with him. As of lately, she wasn't doing such of a good job with holding onto a conversation before it blew up in her face. The two of them definitely had history and something that she felt was never finished between the two of them. Maybe this time around, the two of them could start over.

♥ A closed smile. That was something well new. He was totally expecting her to storm off and rant at him for all the things he said to her over their instant messenger conversation a few weeks prior. He wasn't sure if he meant any of that stuff but he wanted her to hurt. Aidan didn't actually want to see her cry but he was angry. He was angry that he was practically abandoned him just because she couldn't get her life together. He returned the small smile at her compliment. He really didn't think much of his appearance sometimes. His jeans had holes in the knees and his hair was absolute mess. Let's not even discuss the grey and white plaid shirt adoring his upper half with just a wifebeater underneath it and a jacket on top of both. However to each its own. He nodded as a way of thanking her unsure of where this conversation could go.
Standing out in the rain staring at each other in disbelief wasn't going to help them at all. Aidan shivered feeling a bit of cold air hit his face and he blow out air. He figured since he was going into the coffee shop that he minus well buy them both coffee. It was the right thing to do right? the manly thing? ...nice even? Ha! That was hilarious. Aidan and nice didn't pair up exactly but her drink was long gone anyway. He stepped forward throwing an arm loosely oer her shoulder turning her back in the direction of the shop. "Come on, I'll buy us coffee. My treat." he insisted.
He really didn't care too much if she said no. Aidan was being cordial and he didn't do cordial with too many people. He held open the door hearing the sound of the bell at the top. He was glad to be in some kind of "warmth" so to speak. "So...what did you have in that cup exactly?" he glanced over at her. Aidan dug in his pocket pulling out his wallet. He opened it and pulled out a fresh twenty looking to see he never removed his arm from her shoulder. Uh sorry...looks like we got a line though." he frowned.

It was crazy how she was just standing there and actually letting herself talk to him…well try to. It was almost as if she completely forgot the way he acted towards her when they talked via messenger. She had to admit, in a way, she deserved it, but some of things he said was pretty fucked up in her eyes. It hurt her feelings. She was definitely getting that a lot lately. It was like she was a damn hurt magnet. Her fingers tapped against the empty cup before tossing into a near by trash can before her attention went back to him.
Before she could even say another word, maybe try and walk away but that didn't happen. She felt her body being turned back around and into the cafe. He was going to buy her another. It wasn't as if she was going to say no. She did need it so she wasn't half dead when it came to taking care of Gabriel. "Thanks," she looked up at him, smiling softly. So far, so good. For some reason, she felt relaxed. So relaxed that she didn't even notice his arm wrapped around her shoulders.
She sighed softly, catching him out the corner of her eye. It was definitely something to look at. She couldn't get over it. She looked away, really not wanting to be a creeper staring at him. Her eyes flickered in his direction. "Half and half, cream and sugar. It's the same, never changed really." She smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "It's fine." Shaking her head, her tongue ran over her lips. "Don't mind waiting again." She really didn't. She didn't want to leave just quite yet. It didn't hurt to try and catch, even if it's for a little bit.

♥ This was real life but yet he was surprised. He didn't even think they would ever have a calm conversation. He glanced at her saying she didn't mind waiting again. Well least one of them had patience. He bit down on his bottom lip figuring out what he even wanted. He probably wouldn't even go for coffee but that seemed really good right about now. The line moved and he smiled at the cashier that was behind the counter. Young for him but cute enough to spark his interest the same way James did years ago. "I'll take a coffee with half and half and a french vanilla one both medium sizes please." he gave a small smile addressing his order.
The girl repeated back his order and he nodded giving her the reassurance that his order was correct. Aidan handed over the twenty dollar bill that rested in his hand and watched her gather his change. "Thank you." he stuffed the bills in his wallet and stuck the coins in the jar going to children's cancer. His hand rested on the small of James's back guiding her over having to wait again. "There's a table over there." he nodded spotting the table meant for two.
He wasn't sure how this conversation would go exactly. He was actually nervous that they would end up in a public yelling match. As he took his seat across from her, he clenched his cup and ran his hand through his messy hair. "Um...so how's everything?" he asked cautiously. He brought his drink up to his lips lightly blowing on the top before taking a small sip grateful this was calming experience so far.

How was everything so calm between the two of them? It was as if it was just a normal day for them as if this is what they do. She really was anticipating for her second cup of coffee before she ended up falling asleep standing up. She had a little bit of patience lingering. She looked around, listening to him giving the cashier their order and then her repeating back to make sure she had it right. She yawned into the sleeve of her hoodie, blinking twice just to keep herself alert.
She moved off to the side, feeling his hand against he small of her back. Just that touch sent a soft jolt through her spine. Her eyes flitted before turning in the direction he was pointing at. "All right," she nodded, trying to say a few words, instead of standing around as if she was mute. She waned this to just go smoothly. It was so far, but something could always happen and it would end up going down from there. She didn't want that today. She just wanted it to go as if nothing ever happened between the two of them, but that was a bit hard to get past. but it was in the past, right?
She held onto her cup, bringing it slowly to her lips. Taking the first thing, her insides fluttered, finally getting coffee into her system. Taking a seat at the table, she rested back in her chair before her eyes flickered up as he sat down. "Not so great, but I'm getting use to it." She gave him a small smile, taking a drink from her cup. Licking her lips, she looked out the window, the rain running against the glass. "What about you?" Turning her attention back to him, she brought the cup back to her lips for another sip.

♥ The answer that she given to his question sparked his interest. He was now curious as to why she seemed very off and sad. Everything from her dry answer to her appearance just made her seem very dead to the world. Aidan wasn't the one to pry on anybody's life. In fact, he didn't care about knowing most things that people told him. He usually forgot about it within a five minute frame anyway. However when it came to James, he still well cared. It's a big shocker considering how cruel he's been to her especially when she just wanted to hold a simple conversation with him. At the time, he wasn't up for it but maybe now this was a refresh start.
He actually liked the idea of them starting over. A clean slate was good for everybody and the pair definitely needed to start over. "Care to elaborate?" he asked softly. He really hated the short answer and it was obvious something was bothering her. Aidan would much rather appreciate her explaining what was going on especially when she could easily annoy him with her sour puss attitude. "Did something happen since we last held a conversation?" he questioned again.
Aidan was going to play 21 questions until he got the answer he was looking for. He was a good listener when he wanted to be and with the rain, it was the perfect opportunity to do just that. "This is one of those cuddle up and talk about our feelings conversations huh?" he smirked a bit. As much as he wanted to offer her to chance to go back to his place and do that, it was far too soon. "We're not about to discuss me. We're going to discuss you. Now." Aidan probably came off really harsh but he genuinely cared and didn't want to just drop the subject at hand.

her eyes flickered over in his direction. he wanted to know what was going on with her. this was a surprise. she really didn't want to explain it all to him, but why not. she really haven't had a chance to talk to anyone about this, not even her best friend knew that the relationship was over. it seems like the two of them were on totally different pages. the only one person she really had to talk to was her mother and sometimes, that wasn't enough.
she gave him a nod, hearing his other question. "a lot has happened since we've talked." she nodded, taking another drink from her coffee. once again, she didn't want to rendered herself into tears. she was done with the crying. he got a smile out of her, hearing his last comment. "you can say that yeah." she joked a bit. even though, she knew that moment wasn't going to happen. it was too soon for them to be even going down the road again, but this was a new start though. it was something she was looking forward to.
he wasn't going to stop until he got it out of her. james sighed, running her tongue over her lips. "all right," she muttered softly. "me and jayden aren't together…" she stopped for a moment, looking out the window. "he fell out of love with me and ended it before telling me he cheated." she chuckled slightly. "i really thought we were happy, but…" shaking her head, "it was what i wanted to believe." she smiled faintly, looking over at him. "and then, i made an ass out of myself," her fingers ran over her hair. "we saw each other on the beach, he apologized twice, but i did't want to hear it. i said something i didn't mean to say, pissing him off to the point that he said i was dead to him." she looked down, blinking tears away before looking up at him. "it's karma." she stated, before smiling a bit. "but besides, i want him to be happy even if it's not with me."

♥ Aidan rested his chin in the palm of his hand ready to hear the story of her sadness. he felt like a little kid back in first grade gathering around with his classmates eager for story time. He listened as much as he could to hear explaining the situation. His tongue went across his lips and he nodded every so often more so to assure himself that he was even paying attention. Aidan couldn't offer her advice what so ever. James and relationships just didn't seem to click very well. In his honest opinions, she was a lot to handle even for him and there was too much that came with her.
She was the hopeless romantic type least she seemed that way. James wanted to be he princess and meet her prince just like how Disney portrayed in their animated movies. Disney was a bunch of bullshit and falling in love so easily was just going to backfire no matter what. He found himself laughing tossing his hand back. It wasn't his exact intention but he quickly calmed down. "You're like 12 James. You got your whole fucking life ahead of you to fall in love. Why take it so seriously? You guys weren't married. People break up all the time and you can't just go around thinking everything is picture perfect. Wake up James. You aren't a princess. This is real life." he swiped up his cup taking a major gulp from it.
He swallowed placing it back down on the table. Aidan glanced out the window and looked back over at her sighing. "Everything is not what it seems you know? You can't control every situation and every relationship that comes your way. Not everybody is going to be happy ever waking moment. You can be annoying as hell and I'm sure you know that. So he cheated, it's not the end of the world. He's young and you just be happy he told you." he shrugged. Asshole. His commentary was every bit of asshole but he was Aidan Jensen. Nothing he said came out as sunshine and fucking rainbows. He was a writer after all, he lived for the drama.
"Okay so maybe I'm being too harsh and not sensitive enough but think of it as my own way of caring. You need to watch your mouth. One little thing can set somebody off and they're out of your life forever." he started off. Aidan was trying to remain as respectful to the situation as possible. He was trying to be civil but James light that fire in him. She always managed to irritate a nerve that he truly did not have. "Come on now... he stuck it out a good while because most guys your age don't. So he said you were dead to him. He was pissed off, I've thrown darts at pictures of you plenty of nights when you pissed me off. Just give him some to cool off." Aidan gave her a helpful smile. "Come on..smile." he opened his mouth giving off a mega watt smile. "Fucking mood killer." he glared finishing off his coffee.

maybe she had her hopes up. she wanted a lot out of this relationship she had with jayden. to her, it was her start to love all over again, but it blew up in her face. she was only nineteen, but she was happy, but then again, she kept hearing that same thought in her head that she wasn't. she brought her cup to her lips, waiting to see what he had to say. it was aidan, he had a lot to say.
and then he went off. she was waiting for this. him being harsh, she was used to it. it wasn't anything new. when the two of them together, he was the same way. it was just the older he got, the harsher he became. she chewed on her lip, her fingers gripping her cup, listening to him speak. maybe this what she needed to hear to make her wake up. her eyes stayed on him, not removing her gaze. he had her attention.
maybe that was her problem. she wanted to control everything. she didn't want anything to be out of her control. if she had control of everything, nothing would go wrong, but it does every time. she had to let go and just let whatever to happen. if it's suppose to work, then it will work. god, he was being an asshole, but this was him. if he wasn't an asshole, then she would have thought something was wrong with him. taking a drink of coffee, she looked away for a moment before turning her eyes back to him.
now, he wanted her to smile. after all of that, he was expecting her to give him that. chuckling slightly, she shook her head, looking back at the rain. "you are fuckin' something else…" she finally spoke up. biting down on her bottom lip, her eyes coming back at him. "…thank you." a small smile came across her lips. "i mean that…"

♥ Aidan wasn't exactly the kind of person to ever really give advice. He knew that his kind of advice was never really the right kind. Sometimes, he didn't even know what the hell he was saying and it usually came out rude. Just like it just did but he just figured if she hated, she would've been left. He was actually waiting for it. He picked up his cup and took a few more sips. The warm coffee hit his tongue and he grazed out of the window. He wasn't exactly sure how she would react but finally he got his answer. He shrugged lightly at her stating the obvious and drew his cup away from his face.
His advice was the kind you either took and rolled with or simply ignored. Either way, he didn't care but in some weird way he cared for James. That didn't mean too much or maybe it did considering not a lot of people got his time or attention. He didn't find himself caring about too much but he was surprised when she actually thanked him. "Yeah...yeah. Welcome." he brought his hand to to back of his neck rubbing it awkwardly. He wasn't even sure if she was serious and was just waiting for her to walk off in anger but when she meant it, he actually had a small smile on his face. "You don't have to take it, just really consider it." he nodded.
He really wanted her to actually take it and re think a lot of things. "So other than heartbreak, anything else new?" Aidan asked. He wanted to talk about something lighter and not so depressing. He remembered that she did just have a child so he figured that he could ask about that even if it was a bit of a touchy subject. "And the kid...he's good and all huh?" he added. Aidan didn't know why he even bothered asking about her son. For some reason, he actually hated that her first child was with another man. However, he would never on his life tell her that no matter how bad it hurts his soul.

she didn't know if he would believe her when she said thank you. but she really did though. she was actually happy that he did try and talk some sense into her. she really didn't have an excuse to be moping around since her relationship went down the damn train. she had her newborn son and a career to worry about. and still young. her life was still a lot more years to come. so she needed to be happy about that. it was nice to see that aidan still cared for her. she never thought he would, but that's what she gets for over thinking it all.
she smiled a bit, her eyes glancing down at her cup before taking a drink from it. licking her lips, her eyes watched rain drops hit along the window. her eyes went back to him, nodding. "i'll consider it." that was at least she could do. he didn't even have to go off the way he did towards her, but she deserved it. she would admit to that, well to herself, not to him. she was surprised that she kept his attention this long without him getting up and walking away.
finally something else that wasn't sad and depressing. she shrugged. "nothing really. i haven't been doing anything really, wellll." she smiled a bit. "my grandmother and my uncles and aunt and cousins came from england for my birthday. so that was fun." it was nice to actually have her family around her. she needed them, especially for that day for her. "and he's really good. only a few months old. " she nodded. "i never thought i would be a mom this young, but i love it and i love him." she smiled, sighing softly. "now…what about you? enough about me. your turn."

♥ Aidan wasn't the least bit shocked to hear that the girl in front of him wasn't up to much. He wasn't expecting her to jump feet first back into her career so soon. She had a responsibility now that was much more bigger than that. He thought it was kind of interesting to see how she was going to be able to balance both a baby and a career. How she frowned about the teen mothers that flaunted across MTV every weekly night. They had the baby topic once before and that didn't even so well back then. Her birthday? He forgot all about her birthday. He wasn't the best when it came to remembering small things such as a birthday. He usually remembered the day or even a week later.
"Happy belated." he issued with a smile. He wanted to say he had a gift and everything but he knew that he probably would've got her absolutely nothing. Least not anything that was worth much value or had any real meaning. "Ah the good ol' Englanders. Glad to know you enjoyed theirvisit" he expressed. His chin rested in the palm of his hand and he remembered that one brief conversation with her grandmother. It was nothing major and she didn't seem to like him very much either but he was still as cordial as one could be to an elderly.
"Sometimes, everything just comes naturally." he chuckled softly. Now it was his turn to bore himself about what he had been up too. Aidan was never the kind of person that liked to hear himself talk. He actually hated it but he decided that he had enough of James talking and decided he could fill her in. "I've been working on my next book. I am not really sure if I want it to be romantic or really tragic where a murderer falls in love with their victim then it just turns into this bonnie and clyde kind of vibe." he started waving his hands all over the place. "It's a work in progress. I have a beach house here and just getting used to things. It's a lot more quiet than LA. Some auditions here and there but just keeping a low profile really." Aidan added picking up his coffee to finish the entire thing off. "Who knows maybe I'll find the inspiration I need while I'm here." he shrugged leaning back in his seat.

"thanks." she smiled, hearing him watching her a belated birthday. she knew that he wasn't so great on birthdays. even when the two of them were together, he didn't remember hers unless she had to remind him. she was used to it, but she would always remember his. she was good at remember things…sometimes. she nodded, 'i did. it was nice." she stated. and it was. it really was something she needed to lift her spirits up. she could always remember her grandmother not really liking him. she always had that feeling because he was older than her, but to james, it really didn't matter.
she really wanted to know what he had been up to since the last saw each other. it wasn't the one who was always about me, me, me, when they were together, it was always her and that was something that she would definitely change about herself, if she wanted to keep people around. she gave him all of her attention to him as he talked about working on a new novel and having auditions and whatever else that was going on. "i like the sound of it already. love to read before published, i mean…if you let me." she smiled. " and we're neighbors. i'm on the beach too."
it was actually nice to know that he was near by, even though she didn't know if he was up for wanting to hang out or whatever with her, but it didn't hurt to give it a try since they were starting over again. "maybe we can hang out sometimes or whatever, when you're not busy." she took the last drink of her coffee and placing the cup on the table. "i don't know what we would do, but y'know, keep each other company." she shrugged, already having a bit of an idea on what she wanted to do, but that would come down the line later if he felt that way about her at all.
