Jenna treated him the way she saw him, and he was an amazing person. Ty was the very best friend she could ask for. He was the person she was supposed to spend forever with, even if it wasn't ever romantic. She would always like him more than she liked anyone else, she would always think he was better than anyone else. He was simply amazing to her. The way they worked together wasn't going to happen with anyone else. Jenna was a difficult person, just in general. She knew that about herself, and it wouldn't make her a very good girlfriend, but she didn't think Ty would ever see her like that, just as a difficult person, because he was the most patient person she knew. He always had at least a little bit of patience to deal with her ,and she absolutely loved him for it. She loved him for everything that he was with her. Turing that into a relationship wasn't going to be difficult, not for them. It could really work. "You always want to steal my food," she complained lightly, grinning at him still. "Why don't you just order something more interesting for a change?" He always stole her food. Always. It was annoying, but he was the only person who'd get away with it. No one else was touching her food.

Not many people thought Ty was as great as he thought he was, portrayed himself to be. Jenna did. He had built up a persona of being much cooler than he was, as cool as he wanted to be, and he wasn't really like that with Jenna. He was actually comfortable with her, she didn't overwhelm him and make him nervous and he barely blushed with her, because he was so comfortable with her. He never felt like he had to impress her because she knew him, it was easy and he loved it. She liked him how he was, she liked the person he was for real. He liked that. Girls had an image of Ty and who he was and it was kind of right but Jenna knew him completely, they had known each other forever and he couldn't pretend to be different around her, he didn't know her because she liked him how he was, loved him how he was. And he loved her how she was. She could be more social and easier to deal with and less demanding but then she wouldn't really be his Jenna. He grinned and shrugged, "No." he said simply with a small shake of his head. "What's the fun in that?" she didn't share easy, she kind of shared with him. He wouldn't just grab at her food because that was rude but he'd always eat some of it, she'd give it to him because he was her Ty.

She never thought he needed to be anything different than who he was. She wouldn't want him any other way. He was cool enough for her. He'd always been better with people than she had and way more confident in himself. She hadn't had that in high school at all. She'd figured it out, she'd learned, and most of that credit she gave to him, but she still thought of him as way cooler than she was. That was never going to change. Ty was the cool one, and she was awkward and weird, she just owned that now, and it made it a lot better. She saw her flaws pretty easily, but she wasn't exactly trying to change, she was pretty content being stubborn and difficult and picky. And she had Ty to put up with her, so she didn't need the need to change at all. He loved her how she was, and that was enough for her. "The fun is getting to try new things. It's boring just getting the same thing over and over again." She didn't like to share, that wasn't one of Jenna's strong suits, but she reluctantly shared with Ty. She tried, at least. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, but she did try. And he was nice about it, so she usually didn't have too much of a problem with it.

Jenna knew who he was more than anyone else. He was extremely confident in himself and outgoing but people still made him nervous and certain girls made him uncomfortable and high school hadn't exactly been a piece of cake. Jenna knew these things, she knew him past his cool facade he put on, and she liked him, she loved him. She wouldn't try to make him more comfortable or just take his almost bullshit. She liked him. She liked his rambling and awkwardness and humor and he loved her for it. He felt like anyone else would tire of his mouth, he couldn't really stop once he started talking. She liked him how he was. And he liked how she was. It'd be nice if she wasn't as difficult but at this point he knew how to handle her pretty much perfectly. He had so much patience for her, he didn't mind how stubborn and pushy she was because the rest of the time she was great. "Oooor, I could get the same thing all the time and you could be adventurous. I'd be so mad if I ordered something and it was gross." He asked nicely and he didn't grab at her food and didn't bug her if she said no, which she normally didn't. He asked and she gave him a bite, that was love as far as he was concerned. He was almost positive she wouldn't share with her sisters but she shared with him.

She knew exactly who Ty was. And she loved who he was. He was perfect for her, he had the kind of personality that complimented her own. She was stubborn and difficult and still way too shy for her own good, and he was patient and flexible and way more outgoing than she even wanted to be. They were supposed to be in each other's lives, that much they never even questioned. They'd gotten each other through middle school and high school, and survived. Nothing was going to ruin their relationship after going through all of that. They weren't the kids who'd had it easy because they definitely hadn't fit in. Life was better now, though. They were much better off now than they had been. And still loser to each other than to anyone else in the world. She hadn't gotten tired of hearing him talk in twenty years, she really doubted that would start anytime soon. "I don't think anything here would actually be gross. This is the kind of place that's worth taking a risk at." She'd learned to share with him. And he was the only one, too. She didn't share food with people. Once it was on her plate, she was planning on eating it, or she wouldn't have taken it. She didn't share with her sisters, she just didn't. Ty was the only one she ended up letting share her food.

He didn't mind her personality. He never really had. He was patient with everyone, anyone with her personality would have gotten the same treatment from him. But he had known her forever. They had made very quick friends when they met and then she came over one day and they watched a marathon of his favorite and from then she had been his favorite person. She was difficult to deal with and almost twenty years later he had to convince her to do things with him but she took him as he was. She took his nonsense and just enjoyed him. Ty loved this girl. She was his favorite. They were good together, they got along great, she was the best person for him. He always felt a little uncomfortable around everyone else but he never had that problem with her. She was his favorite and he was great for her. "But what if it was? What if the one time I was adventurous my food was gross? I would be so upset." Sharing food with friends was just something you did and she did with him. She gave him a little. Unless they agreed before to split a plate she only gave him a little bit and that was enough. She shared, with him. She shared all kinds of things with him that she never wanted to share with anyone because she didn't do that well. But she did with him, he understood the big deal.

There were so many things about Ty that she just loved. He was funny and creative and smart. He liked what she liked and they could just hang out and do nothing together. There wasn't anyone else in the world that she could be completely herself around. He was the only person she consistently spoke her mind to. Most people wouldn't know just how difficult she was, because even if it was important, she probably wouldn't say anything to them. But Ty always did. They got to argue about things and it was good for her. He was good for her. All of those things that made him her best friend were starting to take on a new light. There was something different about the things she loved about him. She could honestly see herself being in love with him, if that's where they took this, and she was actually ok with the change. Most changes she would resist so hard, but this one seemed like a really good one. "Then you'd know you didn't like it, I guess," she shrugged. "But if you never try anything new, then you never know how good it could be." Ty knew why it was a big deal if she gave him a little bit of anything. She just didn't share well. If it was hers, she wanted to keep it. If she was done with it, she'd give it up fine, but she didn't like to share when she was working with something. Or eating something. It especially applied to food. Unless they were ordering something that they planned to share, she didn't want to share her food with anyone. And she did with him, most of the time.

They had a blast together. More than anything he just liked being with her, he liked spending time with her, he liked hanging out. They liked pretty much all the same games and tv shows and movies. They got in fun arguments about stuff and they got in yelling matches but he was never like that with anyone else. Jenna did sometimes rub him the wrong way but that was rare. She was pushy and selfish and annoying when she got stressed out and they got in arguments and he didn't argue with anyone else, not really because he was so patient, but he didn't mind. Because she was his Jenna and he had known he would spend his life with her for a very long. Not even romantically but just in general, he'd be with this girl forever. They would always be best friends and always talk everyday and build their lives around each other. He knew that, he always knew that. But he also always knew that most likely they'd end up together for real because he thought like that, he would fall in love with Jenna one day and never let her go. "But you order interesting stuff so then I do know." he pointed out with a grin. "Why should I be adventurous while you are? I get something basic that will always be delicious and you get something that could be gross." She shared, with him. He knew that was a big deal. He was never pushy about it and he took what little she gave him but he got it. That was a big deal. Jenna didn't share. But Jenna shared with him.

They had a great time together, always. They had grown up to like the same things. They usually got into them together. That was where their friendship had started, liking the same cartoons and comic books. And it had evolved from there. To video games and Buffy and Doctor Who and everything else they watched now. And to writing together. Everything fit perfectly, and they were really good together. They fought like a couple, and they got over it pretty quick every time. It wasn't hard to be friends with him, to talk to him, to hang out and fall asleep with him. And she doubted it would be hard to be his girlfriend, either. She might get a little more difficult because they were more involved, but that came with her being who she was with him. A little more difficult and demanding and stubborn than she might be with most people. She knew, though, that she would never want to be without him if they started to date. She would be so in love with him, so fast and it would be so hard to imagine how she hadn't been with him sooner. "I might switch with you, though, if you got something you didn't like and I got something you did like. I can be nice like that sometimes." That was the best thing about Ty, he took what he could get with her and he didn't demand more. He got her, he got how much she hated to share, and he didn't demand more from her. She loved him for that.

All that nerdy pop culture stuff that was such a major part of his personality she liked too. They had different opinions and they could argue about characters and plots and ships but they liked the same things. He didn't have to try to talk her into watching anything, she just did. She would read all the comics and books he suggested so they could talk about them, play all the same games. He'd like her as his girlfriend and he knew that. It'd be easy. There would be a very small adjustment period and he felt like most of that would be cutting it off with all the kids he talked to know and learning to spend his time with her slightly different. They would have to keep emotions out of their work fights. But it wouldn't be that bad or that difficult because they were Jenna and Ty and it was easy for them to be best friends and partners and it would be easy for them to be a couple. Some things would have to change but not a whole lot. "Well that problem will never happen because I always get things I like. i've never ordered something and not liked it." He pushed her about things that mattered but for the most part he took what he could get with her and he was happy with it. It wasn't a lot usually but he took what he could get, sharing food and everything else she had to offer.

They were incredibly nerdy, well read, watched all sorts of movies and tv shows together. There was a lot of things that they were alike on. They had different opinions on certain aspects of their interests, but that was what made things interesting. They weren't the same people. That would be boring. Having the same opinions on everything and agreeing all the time would be boring. They had debates on different characters and ships and plot lines. They were interesting. To each other, at least. And that was what really mattered. That was the kind of person you wanted to settle down with, really. The kind of person who shared your interests, but was different enough to make things interesting. He made her life interesting. It would be different to be his girlfriend. There would be definite adjustments to what they considered their normal relationship, but it wouldn't be hard. It wouldn't change so much that they felt like it was work. It would be nice. Having that relationship with your best friend would be nice. "You mean like how I never have to learn to be more social because I don't go anywhere anyways?" she asked him, grinning. He pushed her all the time, but she wasn't so good at pushing back. And she never pushed about important things. It was little things, like him ordering more interesting food at a restaurant. Nothing important. He pushed about some important things, and he did it the right way. He made it actually seem possible.

They had the same interests and that was major. That was really important to him. His whole life was video games and tv shows and cartoons and comics and movies. That's what he did, that's what he lived for. He likes sports and going out but he loved those other things more. It would be hard for him to be best friends with someone who wasn't like him, who didn't like those same things and could have real discussions about them, intense discussions and arguments about his fandoms. He had with Jenna, it was easy to be best friends with her when they shared all the same interests. And being her boyfriend would be easy too. He knew how she functioned and what made her happy and all he had to figure out was how to date her and that wouldn't be hard. Because he had known her forever. It would be easier than dating anyone else, it would feel more right, because they were Jenna and Ty. He smiled, "No, not the same at all." Right then the waitress came over to ask what they wanted to drink and he ordered the wine and all of their food also. He waited until she walked away to look back at Jenna. "I will always push you to be more social, beautiful."

They were always going to have those basic similarities. They liked the same things and spent time the same way. They played games and watched television and generally did things that most people thought were a waste of time. That wasn't going to work in a different relationship. It would work perfectly with them, though. It was so easy and so comfortable in the best ways around him. She was herself, and she was happy with herself and how she was. He didn't mind who she was. She wasn't too nerdy for him or too quiet or too shy. She was just Jenna, and she felt like a much more normal person around him. Because she was starting to think about it, it almost seemed like the next natural step for them. Being together seemed like it would just happen so easy. She wouldn't resist it at all if it happened, she'd welcome it, but she didn't really completely know if that was where this was going yet. She was just a little unsure about what this date was going to be, in the end. She let him order, just sitting back and waiting. "And I'll always think I'm social enough." He balanced her out, socially. He made her go out sometimes, have a good time. He didn't let her become a hermit. And that was good. Because if he didn't force her out, there was every possibility that she would be just that.

It was the easiest thing to spend time with her. If he had a girlfriend who wasn't into the things he was into they would have a problem, one major reason he never really had a girlfriend. It was easier to have girls who he fucked then have a girl who would want to spend time with him but most likely not want to do the same things he did. He fully intended to work in the video game and cartoon field, that was his plan and he needed someone who would understand that he was always going to spend a lot of his time doing that. Jenna got it. Because she wanted to do the same kind of thing, she had the same interests, it was easy to hang out with her. Them dating would just add physical stuff to all the things they normally did. They spent a lot of time playing video games and watching cartoons and tv shows and reading while not working on the comic, them dating would just add fucking and making out to that mix. That would be great. That's what he wanted. Someone who would play video games with him naked. "Not even kinda close to being social enough. Until I don't have to talk you into going to a bar with me, you just come, when we're home, I'll always think you could be more social." She liked to stay home. He liked it too, he liked being on his couch or her couch. But he liked to get out and see people and meet people and be around noise. It was nice.

They didn't have to change much to be a real couple. And this was everything you could want in a relationship. They already wanted to spend all their time together, they did spend all their time together, really, and either of them actually dating someone else would take away from it. Parts of their relationship would take on new meanings, little things would change, but their relationship really wouldn't change that much. It would still mostly be hanging out and playing games and watching television. Only they'd be making out and having sex and hanging out naked and spending the night much more often. She knew she couldn't do better than him for a real relationship, for the relationship that lasted forever. "You know that's never going to happen, right? I like staying in. It's more fun for me." He liked people much more than she did. She had people she hung out with, and that was enough. She'd do social things with people she already knew. He liked to be out there and talking to people, and he was good at it, but she wasn't.
