Finding out about his real father, Corey needed to spend some time with him and work on their bonding. He needed someone to vent to about his recent problems with Leilani. He missed her and the kid like crazy. Just when he thought things wouldn’t get worse between him and her, it did. And Corey didn’t know what to do anymore. He felt lost, with no real kind of guidance to get back on track. Arriving to his penthouse, he knocked on the door and slipped his hands into his pockets, looking down at the sneakers on his feet while he waited for his dad to answer.

Sal was doing something he never did - taking a night off from his day job, and turning off his phone from the DA's office. He kept his private business line on, of course - that job never gave him time off - but he could spend a night away from the law.
He heard a knock on his door, and his brow furrowed. Not many people knew where he lived, and not many would come uninvited. He stood up, placing his coffee mug down, and went to the door. He was a little nervous answering his door, but was confident that his doorman wouldn't let a rival in - Sal paid him not to do so.
Instead... it was Corey. "Hey, Corey." He said, opening the door.

The small thought of Leilani and Zeke crossed his mind, making him feel even more like shit. So, this must be how it felt to really be lonely and have nobody in your corner anymore. It seems like the only reliable person was his biological father—that is, if the guy ever answers the door.
He looked up from his sneakers when he saw the door being pulled open with Salv standing on the other side. ”Hey, Pops.” He greeted softly, trying to mask out the sadness in his voice. ”Can I come in, or are you busy?”

"Not busy. Come in." He stepped aside, lips pursed, curious as to what Corey could need. And sort of hoping that it wasn't anything too major, or dangerous. But he tried to keep his face impassive until he was able to figure out what was going on.

”Okay,” Corey moved into the home with a hand moving through his hair. He took a look around the place before directing his eyes back onto Salv, waiting for him to take lead. Corey was known to explore a home and end up somewhere he doesn’t belong. ”How’s things at work?” He asked, deciding to start off with a light conversation and work their way up into the more serious issues at hand.

"Can't complain." He said, with respect to work. "Sit down." He offered, grabbing his coffee mug from where he'd deserted it in the coffee table. "Can I get you a water, or coffee, or something?"

Taking a seat, Corey rested his hands between his thighs, taking a quick glance around the home and back onto his pops. ”Umm, no thanks, I’m fine. Thanks for the offer.” Corey replied, sighing. "Sorry it's taking forever to get around to the things you needed me to do. I've just been dealing with personal stuff that's slowing me down."

Once Corey said he was fine, Sal sat heavily, exhaling. He'd had a long day himself. He sipped the coffee as Corey apologized, and thought for a few moments. "Well... what sort of personal things?" He asked.

Corey dropped his head towards the ground as the flashes of that night came rushing back into his mind, like it only happened yesterday. He took a deep breath before he replied, ”… I messed up. My family left me.” He looked over at his dad. He was still young and had a lot to learn about life. So, to him, when Leilani left the house with Zeke, he figured that was the end of his family and he wouldn’t be able to see neither of them again.

He pursed his lips. "What happened exactly?" He hoped it was more of a he said-she said fight, and less of a serious legal issue, now that he'd told Corey he'd help.

Corey sighed. ”Things between me and Leilani were already rocky when she found out I cheated on her in the past. So…” He paused, running his hand along the side of his face before continuing, ”A friend of mines came over while I was drunk. I don’t remember too much, but I know we got caught and I was doing everything in my power to make her stay… I guess you can figure out the rest from there.”

Like father like son, he supposed. He hadn't been faithful to a single woman in... well, for as long as he could remember. "I understand. Things escalated, right?" He leaned back against the couch back. "So did Leilani leave?"

Corey nodded before adding, "Escalated real bad.” He knew things could’ve gotten worse than that. Thankfully, it didn’t lead to anything physical or someone getting hurt. ”Mhm, and she took Zeke with her. It’s just me in that house all by myself now.”

”No,” Corey responded quickly. That girl wasn’t crazy to put her hands on him. ”Probably. This is the second time I cheated on her. I cheated on her earlier in the relationship.” He let out a depressing sigh. ”Fuck.. Maybe I’m not made for this relationship shit.”
