one love James tapped her fingers on her rounded tummy. Her bottom lip sat under her row of teeth as she saw in the waiting room. She didn't know why she was nervous, she really didn't have a reason to be. It was just the fact that she was four months along with her boyfriend's baby and here, waiting to see the doctor and to find out what they were having. She looked around, seeing other pregnant women or women with children. It was a bit of an eye opener, that she was now or going to be in their situation soon. She didn't even know that her knee was bouncing until she felt his hand against it. She stopped, taking a deep breath before breathing out. "Sorry," she muttered softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She reached down, grabbing his hand in hers. She was happy that the two of them were back on the same page again. The tension between the two of them since that night at her parents pulled them away from each other. Yeah, they were so close, but yet so far. She wanted him to have his space. She didn't want to become that clingy girlfriend. That wasn't her. She couldn't do that to him. She loves him, but she didn't want to suffocate him. So once again, they were a happy couple. She bit down on her lip, her fingers still drumming against her belly, smiling slightly. "I shouldn't be nervous." She looked up at him. The place that Jayden most dreaded going to was where he finally found himself. These past free weeks were rough and he questioned a lot of things. He still wasn't coming to terms to what was happy but he was at peace. The two finally got back on good terms and finally the kid was able to sleep peacefully. He ran his tongue across his teeth and he sucked them looking at James sensing her nervousness.

Finding out the sex of the baby was a huge deal and in a way, he didn't want to know. He liked the whole being excited thing but it would be easier to know when it came down to decorating the nursery. "You're right. You shouldn't. There are people in worse positions." he reminded her grazing his thumb against her hand. Everything was slowly sinking in and rested his head against the wall feeling impatient due to how long they were taking. Things were moving in such slow motion that he pulled his grey beanie down further over his eyes letting out a grunt.

Jay leaned his head against her shoulder feeling like centuries passed until they were finally heard her name being called so they could go back. He stood up pulling his t-shirt down and took her other hand pulling her up following the nurse to a room. His eyes looked around the room and he wasn't sure rather to stand or sit at a moment like this. "Nervous Natalie and I want to find out the sex of our b-baby." he confirmed giving a small shy smile just in time for the doctor to waltz in getting everything set up. Biting the corner of his lip and giving her hand a gentle squeeze, he stood next to the examining time feeling overwhelmed with a emotions and nothing even happened yet.

one love She gave a small smile, nodding, feeling his thumb running against her knuckles. The wait was becoming dreadful. It just felt like this entire day was going slow. Sighing softly, she felt his head resting against her shoulder. She rested hers against his, waiting in silence. If this didn't happen a bit faster, she would just up and leave and do it another day. But they were there now, so it was now or never. She blinked, finally hearing her name and getting up from her seat with him next to her. They made their way into the room, sitting her purse down before sitting herself down. She sighed, her hand resting in his, watching the door close after the doctor came in, setting everything up. "I'm Dr. Matthews, nice to meet you guys. Just need you to remove the jacket, laid back, raise your shirt a bit and lower your leggings a bit and we'll get started." She pulled her hand away from his and doing what she was told. Laying back, she lifted her shirt, lowered her leggings a bit. She chewed on her lip, looking up at the ceiling before turning her direction to him. She gave him a small smile, reaching for his hand again. Once again, she wasn't expecting this to happen so fast, but it did. She couldn't change the past, but if she had that chance, she would want to do a few things over again. But they were here now and it was still settling in. She squirmed a bit, feeling the cold gel against her stomach. He listened as Dr. Matthews introduced herself then instructed James on what to do. Her nervous nature seriously wasn't helping him at this point. In his opinion, there was nothing to be nervous about because it's not like they were just finding out they were expecting a child. Jayden had to remember the advice that Devin gave him and attempt at staying calm. It was easier said then done which could be very frustrating.

The doctor began to move the transducer along her stomach and he focused on the screen. Most of it was dark so he wasn't even sure what the hell he was even looking at it. He tilted his head hearing the doctor explain certain things but most of it went through one ear and out the other. He heard that tissue and bones were the light areas and the dark areas were the fluids. His head nodded letting her know that he heard everything being said to him finally.

He leaned down giving a soft kiss to her forehead quickly and looked back at the screen. "It looks like you may be having a boy here." she pointed at different areas with her index finger. All he heard was boy and his face light up like a Christmas tree. "And you tried to deny me of it being true." he glared down at her squinting his eyes. "Aw, look at his little undeveloped penis...weird. I probably shouldn't have said that but let me be happy." he gushed mumbling the rest.

one love James took a deep breath, sighing, just letting herself relax. She shouldn't be nervous at all with this appointment. She was happy to be honest. Happy to find out what the sex was of their baby. Even though she wanted to be surprised, she just wanted to know anyways. She rested her hand against the back of her head as the other held onto Jayden's. She chewed on her lip, her eyes on the screen, watching intently. She was listening to everything that she was telling them, just taking all of it in. Her eyes flickered, feeling his lips against her forehead, making her smile. Sighing once more, just keeping herself relaxed. Her smile grew bigger across her lips, hearing the doctor tell them they were having a boy. She looked over at Jayden, watching his face light up. "Well forgive me, you're getting your boy." She brought his hand to her lips, giving it a kiss before her attention back to the screen. She laughed lightly, listening to him gush. "Congratulations you two." James looked over at the doctor, smiling. "Thank you." They were gonna be parents to a baby boy. She was thrilled and couldn't wait to tell her family. Even though, she still wasn't talking to her dad, he still had a right to know. The doctor took the pictures of the ultrasound before cleaning up the gel on James' tummy. "All right, you can sit up and I'll be back with the photos." She nodded, the smile still across her lips. She sat up, pulling her leggings and placing her shirt down. Her fingers raked through her hair, looking over at him. "C'mere," she grabbed his hand, pulling him to her. Wrapping her arms around his waist, she pressed her lips against his. A million and one thoughts rushed through his mind. He didn't even see the doctor leave the room and until he heard the door close. Jayden was lost in his own world coming to terms that he was expecting a son. It was all becoming very real and it made him nervous all over again. He focused on the floor trying to gather his thoughts and mask his emotions.

He really wasn't doing a good job at keeping his train of thought. Every time he thought about it, a smile would form and it made him extremely giddy with happiness. Something he felt but he knew this time it would be extremely different then any other happiness then any other happiness that he previously felt. He looked up getting pulled towards James with her issuing her congratulations. "Congratulations to you too mama." he spoke kissing her again.

The door opened and closed again with the doctor returning with two copies of the sonograms. Jayden took one and handed the other to James allowing his eyes to focus on the photo by holding it up to the light. "Yup, reality is slowly hitting." he whispered biting the corner of his lip. Handing over his copy to her, he grabbed a hold of her free hand helping her down from the table leading the way out of the medical building into the driveway. "Welp, that was extremely surreal. Maybe it'll finally hit dumb and dumber." jayden commented twisting the key to start the ignition hoping she knew exactly the reference was for.

one love She smiled against his lips, her arms still wrapped around him. Pulling away a bit as the doctor came back in with the pictures. She took hers from his, looking at it. It was starting to sink in that this was her baby…their baby. It was still surreal that this was actually happening. The corner of her lips curled up, a smile coming across them. She took his hand, stepping down from the table before grabbing her jacket. Walking out for the building and heading for the car, she climbed in, closing her door behind her before buckling herself in. She sighed softly, her eyes going back to the picture again. It was still blowing her mind that this was still happening. Raking her fingers through her hair, her eyes looked out the window before looking over at him, hearing his comment. She knew who he was talking about. It was quite obvious. She shook her head, sighing softly. "I really don't want to worry about it. It's me and you anyways." She gave him a smile before looking out the window, reaching over for his hand. "We're having a boy." He didn't quite understand why she was trying to put on this tough girl act for him. This whole bonnie and clyde thing was cute but it wasn't going to last. She could sit in the passenger seat and try to convince herself that they were fine without her parents but she knew it was a lie. While he didn't care about it too much, he figured it would be nice for them to know. "One thing you may not know is I don't hold grudges. Therefore despite all that happened, we're telling them and that's final." he looked over at her briefly pulling out of the parking lot and onto the street.

They might not be okay with everything but they deserved the right to know. Jayden had a huge problem with distant family members and their unborn son deserved their grandparents on both sides. "I don't want them to miss out as much as I may not like them, I don't want that." he sighed pulling up to a red light. He wanted to make sure she understood what he meant and didn't get offended. "I get it, he disowned you but babe... this may change his opinion. He has a new baby to spoil." Jayden smiled keeping focused on the road.

He sighed heavily snatching his beanie off running his hands though his hair. Jayden knew that this was going to be more complicated then what it is. He was way too forgiving but then again, they weren't his parents and they weren't going to be his parents in a law for a long time. Instead of heading straight back to their house, he went towards her parents house. Jayden could easily explain this to his father later on.

He sang along to the radio stopping at stop signs and red lights ever so often until he finally pulled up into the Acosta driveway. "You can hate me over this, I really don't care because you'll get over it. Let's go." he turned off the ignition get out going over to her side handing over his hand to help her. Jayden licked his lips and knocked on the door harder than usual. He stuffed his hands in his pockets rocking back and fourth. "I love you..." he cooed trying to soften the blow.

one love Sighing softly, he had a point. She really didn't care for her father right now. She did want to tell her mother that she was going to give her a grandson, not really caring what her father would think, but she knew that she would have to do this sooner or later. She just hated that he was making her do this now. They just found out, couldn't they at least wait…a day? She kept her eyes out the window, noticing that they weren't going home. They were heading to her parents' place. She pouted, but once again, he was right. She really didn't want to tell him that he was…Not yet at least. She would tell him…eventually. She looked over at him, giving him a nod and a smile. She understood everything that he was saying. It just sucked that his mother gave him up and now, she was missing all of this. "I hope it does." This trip over to her parents wasn't going to be easy. The last time they were there, they left on a sour note, and it only made things worse for them, but it was starting to get better. She chewed on her lip, seeing the house up ahead. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath, just praying that everything goes smoothly without any problems, especially now. She opened them, feeling the car stop. Looking up at the house, she looked over to her right, hearing the door opening. She unhooked her seatbelt and took his hand. She smiled, climbing out of the car and closed the door behind her. She was already starting to feel that nervousness hit her again. Now, she had that reason to be so. She looked over at him, giving him a smile. "I love you too." Leaning over, she pressed her lips against his cheek. She looked up, hearing the door open. She smiled, seeing that it was her mother and not her father. "James sweetheart, hi." She smiled, looking over at Jayden. 'Hey, come in." She moved out of the way, letting them in before closing the door behind them. Wrapping her arms around her daughter, James did the same. She sighed softly, happy to be in her mom's arms again. "It's good to see you." It's been four months since she's saw her parents, even Jonathan. She definitely felt like a shitty sister. Her mother pulled away, staring down at her daughter's growing tummy. "You're glowing. You look so pretty." James smiled shyly, looking down. "Mom…" She chuckled, looking up, seeing her mom getting misty eyed. "Mom stop it." She shook her head, waving her hands. "I'm sorry. This is my first grandchild, let me enjoy this." She smiled, before her mom resting her hands against her tummy. James looked over at Jayden, smiling. Jayden wasn't sure if his little plan was going to work or not. He was actually quite nervous while they waited for the door to open. He wasn't sure who was going to answer the door. It kind of scared him that there was the possibility that they were going to get the door slammed in their faces. He sighed in relief seeing her mother open the door giving a proper greeting.

She was smiling and he took that as a good sign. "Hi." he returned the greeting walking in after James. Jayden stood off to the side watching the two interact. The words they exchanged was kind of cute but the cuteness wasn't bound to last at all. He was quite surprised hearing her mother even say the word grand child.

It showed that she was finally accepting it although she didn't act a fool like a husband, it seemed like she finally was. He rubbed the back of his neck and cautiously looked around the place. "Uh, we just wanted you to know that we're having a..." he stopped in the middle of his sentence hearing the door close and her father enter. He wasn't sure what to expect from him but he diverted his attention back to James and her mother. "Um, like I was saying. We're having a boy and I don't know, just thought you'd like to know or whatever." he shrugged lightly.

Jayden was glad it was finally out in the open. He gave the duo a small nervous smile. The silence was completely awkward that he was glad to hear her little brother sprint down the stair case engulfing his father into a hug followed by him next which shocked him. "Sup buddy. Long time no see." he chuckled lightly letting him go. His eyes made eye contact with Mr. Acosta and he ran his tongue across his teeth drawing a blank on speaking to him.

one love James turned, looking at her mother, her hands resting against her tummy. Her hands rested there as well. "Can't get over how beautiful you are." James laughed lightly, smiling. "Thanks." She looked away, hearing Jayden speak up. She bit down on her lip, happy that he was doing this, but the happiness that she was feeling with her mother was gone as the door opened with her father coming into the house. Fuck me, the instant thought that went through her mind. She wasn't even ready to face her father. She could have waited a few minutes, maybe a few hours or another day for this awkward situation. It was definitely awkward. She listened to Jayden finish his sentence, her eyes on him before going over to her father. She looked away, hearing her little brother running down the steps. She smiled, finally seeing him. "Jay!" She chuckled softly, watching him run over to him, giving him a hug after their dad. It was a bit of surprise, but she was happy that he did it. "Hey! No hug for me?" Jonathan ran over to his sister but stopped. "Sissy, you're getting fat." She rolled her eyes, smiling. "Real funny, c'mere." He walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her. She leaned down, kissing his forehead. She pulled away, looking over at her mother. "Congrats baby." Her mother smiled, leaning over, giving her a kiss on the cheek. She smiled before looking over at her father. "Dad…" Getting his attention on her, she gave him a small smile. "I know you still have a problem with this, but you're gonna have a grandson, and I want you to be a part of his life. He's gonna need you." She pulled away from her mother and little brother and making her way over to him. She watched as his eyes moved down to her growing tummy and standing there. Her hands rested against the round ball hiding under her shirt, standing in front of him. "No estoy enojado con usted nunca más. Todavía te amo, incluso si usted está loco. She watched him, his eyes looking over at Jayden before looking back at her. He took a step towards her, bringing his hand against her stomach. He shook his head, sighing softly. "Todavía te amo cariño. Eso nunca va a cambiar." (I still love you sweetheart. That'll never change.) She smiled, before feeling his arms around her. Sighing softly, she returned the hug. "I'm sorry…For the way I acted," he pulled away before turning his attention to Jayden. "To the both of you…I just want what's best for you, and I see that you got it in him." He smiled at his daughter. "I'm happy for you mija. For the both of you. Congratulations." "Thanks dad." She smiled, feeling his lips against her forehead. She looked over at Jayden, pulling herself away from her dad. She stood in front of him, pressing her lips against his, kissing him. She pulled away, wrapping her arms around him. "Thank you." She muttered softly. He was a bit wary of everything escaping this man's lips. He really didn't see the point of him having to speak to her in spanish. Jayden didn't understand a lick of it. He didn't exactly take his apology as being a genuine one. It shouldn't take this long to apologize.

Jayden for one wasn't sorry for what he did to her dad. Without her acknowledgement, he still didn't care for the man. His whole idea for coming over here was really stupid because they'll probably never see eye to eye. Jayden just didn't see them bonding like that. He nodded giving off the fakest smile he can muster to the both of them.

He was cool with being civil with Mr. Acosta. There was no need for any extra titles because he wouldn't dare look to him as a father figure. Since telling his own, he saw his dad a few times. "Welcome." he mumbled. His hands stuffed in his pockets fishing for his keys.

His attention span was shot and he still managed to feel out of place. "Spend the night with them and I'll back tomorrow afternoon." he instructed twirling his key around his finger. Jayden knew she wanted this opportunity seeing how long it has been that she's been without them. He had her best interest at heart and as usual, this was one of those moments. "And nothing is wrong with me." he assured with a straight face.

What he said was a bold face lie but he didn't care. He still had that jealous streak when it came to seeing peers with both parents. He kissed her cheek and moved around her quickly leaving the residence literally running towards his car. Jayden backed out of the driveway with clouded eyes blurring his vision doing his best to suck them up as he made his way to his father. He was more then ready to go back to being his little boy and get his cry in with the end result being a game of hockey to cheer him up.

one love James really didn't know if Jayden was going to accept her father's apology. If he wanted to, then that was his choice. She wasn't going to make him try to get along with her father or try to talk to him or whatever. It was up to him. She wouldn't blame him if he never spoke to her father again. Her father was very disrespectful to the both of them. She was going to forgive him, but she wasn't going to forget. He wanted her to stay. As much as she didn't and wanted to be in her own space, maybe this was needed. She was away from her family for four months, she needed to stay. She looked at him, wanting to know if he was okay, but he beat her to the punch. He was all right. She nodded, giving him small smile. "I love you." She felt his lips against her cheek before he moved around her. She watched him, making his way out of the house. She chewed on her lip, running her fingers through her hair. "Everything okay?" She looked over at her mother, giving her a smile. "Yeah," she looked away, not believing anything that she just said. She was going to give him his space, not wanting to smother him.
