Grandpa stretched his arms above his head and waved once more as the car pulled out of the driveway. Danni had come to pick up Kiana from her weekly visit, his wife was out visiting Chester and his youngest, and Grandpa was now alone in the house. It was boring to say the least. He would have gone with his wife but he'd said he would wait around for Danni to show up and then head over there. He had a few things to do and met up with each member of his family at least once a week. With a family his size it was amazing that he kept track, but they wandered in and out of the farmhouse like it was a halfway house so he saw them in rotation without even trying. The only people he couldn't see were those overseas or out of town. The crunching of gravel under foot outside made him tug the curtains aside to see who was out there, his eyes falling on the slender form of one of his granddaughters. "Bo-Bo" he called out, grinning a little as he let the curtain fall and moved to the door, opening his arms for a hug. "What brings you here?" there was always a reason.

Brody had been on her way to her boyfriends when she'd decided to detour and go visit her grandpa instead. Nicky could wait an hour or so, it wasn't like they really had anything planned seeing as he couldn't afford to do anything as he was a good for nothing that refused to give up on his childish dreams of making it with his band. Actually, the more she thought about it, the more she was satisfied with the idea that he could wait all day for all she cared.

"Hey" she replied as she got out her car and walked down the driveway. Her grandparent's house was like a second home, it always had been and she absolutely loved it there. "Can't a girl just want to come and see her grandpa?" she smiled as she hugged the man. It'd felt like forever since she'd seen him despite the fact it'd probably only been about a week. "I just wanted to drop in and make sure everything was good and see what you'd heard on the old Sullivan grapevine" Bo grinned, winking at him. If there was anything going on in the family she hadn't heard about grandpa Vincent was the man to ask.

Grandpa wrapped his arms around his granddaughter and hugged her tight. He missed his family more than anything, that was for sure. "Of course she can but sometimes I wonder just what you're all doing here at times". He opened the door a little more and let her enter the house just as she began to ask about what he'd heard on the Sullivan grapevine. Of course, Grandpa knew just what it was that she wanted now. She wanted to know what was going on in the family. He'd never understood why Brody was the only one of Chet's kids who hadn't worked in the store, he'd never asked her, but of course Jake didn't either unless he was needed."I've heard a lot of things, but the way you ask makes me think that you already know something and want confirmation on the matter. Sit, child, spill the beans" he lead the way into the kitchen, finishing his tea and making a cup for Brody, handing it to her before heading into the living room. He took a seat on the couch and patted the spot next to him.

"There's always a hug at the door and a cup of tea on offer, who can deny that hm? she smiled, shrugging a little. If she ever became a grandparent she hoped her house would be like her grandpa's was to her. She knew she had it lucky with her family, most people weren't as lucky to have such a close knit family and so it was something she'd be keen to preserve.

Brody took the cup of tea from him and sat down on the sofa, getting herself comfy for their chat. "Nope I honestly haven't heard anything, I was just checking everybody was still alive and stuff" she said, sipping on her tea. "I don't see everybody as much as you, they work, I work, I don't think our schedules work out great" Bo said, scrunching her face up a little bit. Not working with everybody did make seeing everybody a little bit harder but she'd dealt with it so far and it was alright for the most part.

"You're a suck up Bo-Bo" he said, one arm wrapped around his granddaughter as he brought her into the house and gave her some tea. They set down on the sofa together and Grandpa realised that this was the thing he missed about having children in the house. When his kids were young, they'd sit with him at various times of the night and spend time with him, even when he'd had his first few grandkids. Now he missed them all, missed the family being around. It was time for a reunion, he realised, that was for sure."Well there has been drama, but I think you should speak to your father first, or your sister" he said, nodding a little bit, a cheeky grin on his face. The family worked in their own little circles mostly, but they had time for each other when they could. "You should make time to see your Aunt Dixie. She's back in town again" he said, grinning a little bit.

"I don't see it was being a suck up per se but more as being gifted with infinite charm" she smirked, raising her eyebrows before laughing a little. One of her eyebrows peaked as he mentioned there had been drama. From her experience the word drama never really lent itself to anything good. "Should I be worried? she asked, bringing the cup to her lips for another sip. Brody tended to be one of the last to know about anything that happened in the family. She had a steady (for the most part) boyfriend and a full time job away from the family business so she didn't see everybody as much as they saw each other.

"Oh really? Ah that's awesome" she grinned at the news of her Aunt Dixie being in town. That was definitely a nice thing to hear. Brody kicked off her shoes before folding her legs on the sofa, getting into her optimal comfort spot. "Is she staying long or just on vacation?"

Grandpa shrugged his shoulders a little bit "I don't know how long for, you'll have to ask her" he said, gruffly. His children came and went like trains out of a station, his grandchildren were the same, there really wasn't much else to say on the matter. They spoke to each other, they spoke to him, there was nothing much that got past him in the end. He found out anything and everything and he still knew nothing at all. "Your Uncle Kim is back too" he added, remembering that his brother had flown in a few weeks ago.Kim was definitely the immature member of Grandpa's generation but he loved his brother, he just never related to him all that well.

"Did you organize a secret family reunion or something? Everybody's turning up" she laughed, before looking down into her tea. It was nice, she was glad people were visiting. She loved them all, every single one of the gigantic family. "I'll make sure I give them a call and meet up with them" she smiled, nodding at her grandpa. "Oh and I don't think they've ever really met Nicky either, seems like a good time whilst they're around"

Brody gulped down the rest of her tea before putting the cup down on the floor. "I'm pregnant" she blurted out. She looked down at the ground for a second, quite shocked she'd actually just said admitted it before looking up at her grandpa for his reaction.

"They all just want a piece of your old Granddad" he said, grinning a little bit and smirking. It was a complete joke, that was for sure, but he loved it when his family came in to visit, that was for sure.Brody said that she was pregnant and, for a moment, Grandpa thought that she was joking. He was silent for a moment but then the look that she gave him seemed to say something else. He raised his eyebrow a little, waiting for her to either burst out laughing or to continue speaking. She was in her twenties, there was no doubting it that she was a Sullivan, but if she was, he was going to have a few words to say to her baby daddy, that was for sure.

“Aha yeaaaah, I’m not kidding” she sighed, covering her awkwardness with a laugh. Well she couldn’t have possibly denied it or kept it a secret for long anyway, a Sullivan saying no to a drink? Her secret would have been outted in five seconds flat at any family gathering and they were all quite close so it wasn’t as if she could avoid them all for nine months. It was actually quite a relief to know that somebody else other than her and Nicky knew what was going on. They were both near useless together and on their own so god only knew how they were going to cope being parents. Plus it was her grandpa she’d spilled the beans to so surely he’d know what to say to make the whole thing feel better, right? He’d experienced kids and grandkids so he was probably an expert in the whole thing or something like that anyway. “If you had anything warm and Grandpa-y to say this would probably be the ideal time...” she muttered, patting her stomach.

"Bo-Bo. Please go and get the shotgun off the wall then leave the man's address on my table" he said, carefully and clearly. Grandpa hated the fact that he was going to be a great grandfather again. Jake already had a daughter and, he had to admit, that it was a little bit uncomfortable. He sighed a little bit, though he knew that there was nothing that he could do. "I don't say things warm and grandpa-y" he said, sitting straight and sipping at his tea for a moment. "You're going to have to tell your father" he said, looking at the young girl for a moment "and you better hope this kid shows his ass at the next family get together so we can have words". The way he spoke made it clear that he definitely wasn't joking about that fact either.

Brody laughed and shook her head. She took it as if she was joking but she really wasn't a hundred per cent sure. She knew it'd probably become a much more realistic scenario if she revealed he actually lived in a trailer park and listed his career and playing in a band. He was a complete disaster and the whole situation really wasn't much better but it was too late now, they were having a baby and that was that. "Now that was what I was expecting" she smiled, still chuckling a little. "To be honest I'm kinda glad, I much preferred the shotgun thing" she grinned, shrugging a little. If he had actually come out with something warm and grandpa-y it probably would have made her feel even worse. "I will tell him... just not yet" she muttered, dreading that conversation already. That would probably wait until she was near to popping. "So you can all eat him alive?" she laughed again, trying to defuse the little bit of tension there was building. "I will introduce you properly soon, he's just a little uh, confused and messed up at the moment after hearing the news himself... but I will bring him round, promise"

"Yeah I didn't think you were" she muttered, rubbing her forehead slightly. She was getting a stress headache just over the idea of Nicky meeting the family. He'd met a few of them, him and Brody had been on and off for a long time but she'd always avoided bringing him to any big Sullivan social event, she knew it'd be a catastrophe. However now she really wished she'd introduced him as just the boyfriend at an early stage rather than now having to introduce him as her baby daddy. Bo was sure the awkwardness would never go away. "I promise I'll bring him grandpa but you have to promise to go easy on him, alright?" she said, sitting up a little in the chair. "Everybody has to because he's here to stay and I don't want the aggro... I can't deal with the aggro" she said, patting her stomach.
