madison paisley ! 23. TOURIST. CINTIA DICKER. WHAT MOM SAYS: “Madi was the easiest pregnancy I’ve ever had. My first born, Lilith, was like growing a dragon and pushing out a boulder. But not Madi. All she ever gave me were cravings. Sweets. That’s all I wanted. I went through two party bags of Skittles in under an hour once. Can’t imagine it was healthy, but I couldn’t stop myself. She was born a freckly little butterball. She was so chubby and all smiles! I’ve never seen a happier baby in all my life. On top of that, she was so calm. You could hand her to anyone and she’d snuggle right up and fall fast asleep. She was cute, too! Oh lord was she cute! Fire red hair and just covered in freckles; I got stopped all the time so people could take a look at her and coo over her. My little strawberry shortcake. To this day she hates it when I call her that, but one look at those baby pictures and you’ll know why. In one of my novels, I’m an author you see; I added a redheaded character in honor of my little Madison.”WHAT DAD SAYS: “From the moment she said dad for the first time, I knew I was in love. My eldest daughter, Cameron, was always a handful. She was my princess, but she wasn’t, isn’t, very affectionate by nature. Madison though, was the sort of little girl everyone fell in love with. She was smart and just loved asking questions; giving her own whimsical explanations for things. She’d draw pictures for everyone in the house and would sign them with a big heart, never forgetting to tell us she loved us when she handed us her artwork. Inquisitive and curious, she caught on quickly and was the sort of little girl who only needed to be told things once. Madi doesn’t have a selfish bone in her body, and would acquiesce to anything anyone told her. If truth be told, she had a hard time sticking up for herself when she was little. If she was playing in the sandbox and someone kicked sand in her face and took her toy, she’d cry softly in her spot and wait for someone to help. Of course, I never let any snot nosed little shit hurt my little Madi, but I won’t be around forever. She’s got a gentle heart and worry ‘bout her.”WHAT HER MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL SAYS: “Madison Paisley was an exceptional student. Very few girls that age have a good head on their shoulders, and she was definitely one of them. Incredibly studious and always willing to learn, she became a teacher’s aide and office aide, and became invaluable to both positions. She was active as well, if I remember correctly, playing tennis for the school team. She had her hand in everything and even did some singing for the school chorus. All in all, Madison was just a pleasure to have at the school. She never caused any real trouble, except for a blowup or two: once in the lunchroom and another at the office. On a couple of occasions she did have to see the school psychologist, but those things are under patient/doctor privilege. I think it had to do with her bottling up her emotions, and then having a negative release for them… But I can’t be sure.”WHAT AN EX SAYS: “Madi was a great girlfriend. She was sweet and she was hot. I can’t say I have actual complaints about her. She always thought of me and was there for me when I needed her. She was a little complicated though. Madi is the type of girl who will be your best friend all day, but one wrong move and she’ll snap at you, then cry about being sorry… but then explain to you why she’s isn’t really sorry. She’s a bit of a mission to get your head around. When I first met her I thought she was one of those perfect good-two-shoes types, but boy was I wrong. Just because someone is nice, doesn’t mean they are soft. I swear to god, I saw her spit in a girl’s face once. It was gnarly. I think she just can’t manage her emotions. You can always tell what she’s thinking looking into those beautiful eyes of hers. That’s another thing, she may come off Queen Prude, but if you’re able to get your eyes underneath her jeans and t-shirts you’ll be pleasantly surprised… extremely. The reason why we didn’t work out is simple: Madison will always be a friend more than girlfriend. ”WHAT MADISON SAYS: “I like being called Madi, though my older sister says it’s a dog’s name. What does she know, anyway, right? I love being outside in the fresh air. I can’t say I’m any good if stranded on a desert island, but I’ve watched enough Discovery channel to have a good grasp of what we should do… I’m sure I can’t do any of the labor though. Like most women I like animals, the cute kind mostly. Umm, I am currently working on my masters in art history… though I’m not sure what good it will do me. My thesis isn’t even fully formulated, so I’m just taking a break from it for now. I was born and raised in Chicago, but after a car accident of mine, I just felt like I needed to get away from it all. This is just temporary though. I can’t imagine being away from everyone I know for so long. I know my friends need me. I mean, people can need other people right? Ugh, I always get off track. I guess some facts about me are that I’ve always wanted a koi pond, my favorite food is Greek, I am named after Madison from ‘Splash’, I love Disney movies, and I picked my nose as a kid. Gross, I know.” ELLIE. EASTERN. PM.
