((feel free to make this short I'm just using an old post I made a while back to start because my brain is fried and I want something started)).Andria needed a break, or at least that's what people were constantly telling her. She needed to sit down, relax and take her mind off all things school for just five minutes. She'd been back in Shadow Valley for nearly four years and she was still working as if she were trying to forget the reason she'd returned. Today had been another one of those days. The ones where everything that can go wrong will go wrong a multitude of times. Right now the young teacher was ready to go home, drop into bed and just forget about anything and everything that happened in the past week. Truth was, everything had been fine until second period. The students were engaged but the senior class were far from enjoyable, picking holes in the texts and generally causing mischief. By the time the class had ended she'd issued most of them a detention for various times that week and it was getting tiresome. Following that she'd been behind on grading papers, because of said detentions, which resulted in her being at work until around five thirty. As she'd finally made her way to the parking lot things continued to get worse. She was dropping things, her car wouldn't start. It had been an all around terrible day. Now, however, it was over and she could relax for the time being. The little diner she'd sat down at was open until around seven so she'd dropped casually into a chair, her bag resting on the table, and just aimed to forget the travesty of a day. Her father had always told her to remember 'tomorrow is a new day' and Andria tried to keep that approach in mind. Truth was, things were already looking up. She loved this café, it was a quiet place with the most lovely food that one could possibly imagine, the one place that she knew she could relax without the hassle of the school day. She took a breath and looked around the room, taking in the variety of patrons that the little family-run café attracted. There were families and couples, some people sitting alone and others enjoying time with friends. Anyone and everyone had floated in here at some point and it wasn't surprising. The staff were friendly, the small water feature up the back added an almost peaceful feel to the place and the food was perfect, it was everyone one wanted rolled into a small place. A small woman, probably in her forties, hurried over to the table, apologising profusely for making her wait, and Andria brushed it off. She was a patient woman, who happened to be enjoying a bit of time to relax, so she wasn't too bothered. Placing her usual order of peppermint tea and almond cookies she watched as the woman bustled off again. The poor woman looked to be run off her feet and the problems Andria had been dealing with all day seemed to be a little mediocre in comparison, especially when a gentleman started causing trouble, resulting in the manager being caused.Reaching into her bag, Andria took out the assignments she still hadn't finished marking, figuring she may as well get some of the work done so she would be caught up. She chewed on the edge of the pen every so often, her eyes falling to the window before back to the page she was grading. A voice echoed behind her and, for a moment, she wasn't sure she'd heard it. Turning around a small smile fell onto her lips at the prospect of company and a more than welcome distraction.

He would recognize the back of her head anywhere. They'd known each other half their lives, after all. Besides the fact that he loved her, besides the fact that she was his sister in law, besides all of that, they'd known each other so long that he'd recognize her anywhere. So instead of passing the cafe by when he passed her in the window, marking papers as always, Liam went inside, grinning. "How's my favourite girl?" He'd asked, hoping he'd get a smile in return as she turned around. He was glad that he did because her smile was worth a lot to the charming man who she was sending it to. "Looking for company?"

((sorry for the delay))A familiar voice echoed in her ears and Alix had to smile as her eyes fell onto her brother-in-law, or at least former brother-in-law. She'd known Liam since they were in high school and she still regarded him as family, there was no doubting that. She wasn't sure how Leland was going to accept her late husband's family still being in her life, almost as if she couldn't let him go, but they'd been close long before she'd married Samael, that was for sure. "There's a free spot here, I'm sure" she said, tucking her paperwork away so as not to seem rude.

He smiled, leaning down to kiss the top of her head in greeting before sliding in to the booth across from her. "Dinner, or just work?" He asked, because he knew she was liable to do the latter. He was hungry. "How're they doing?" He asked, nodding towards the papers. Not his thing, but she had always been smarter than Liam.

Alix felt the pressure of his lips on her head and she smiled a little as he sat down across from her. Liam was, in a sense, the only brother she actively spent time with aside from her eldest brother. She missed Tony a lot but Liam provided that comfort. It wasn't like her younger brother did much. "Work, unfortunately. They're doing nothing but copying and pasting information rather than thinking of their own answers and delivering them in their own words" she said, sighing a little bit as she shuffled the papers on top of each other.

Liam frowned at her assessment for a few reasons, but one shone particularly bright. "I used to be that kid" Except with books not the internet, of course. But none the less, he had been the kid who had done it. He was just never smart enough to think of the right answer, and he'd have rather been on the field anyway, if he could help it.

Alix laughed a little at the man "Liam, you were the student who incorrectly answered each assignment and still managed to achieve a passable grade. If I had to choose someone who was fornicating with the staff, my guess would have landed on one of you gentlemen." She smiled a little bit of a smile. She was teasing, in the strange way that Alix teased people, but she loved her brothers, Liam included, cared about them and wanted to spend time with them.

His eyebrows raised in incredulity, "Me?" He asked, as though the information was shocking. "There were no good looking teachers back then," He reminded her, "Not as though there were beautiful ones like you."

Alix shook her head a little bit and laughed. "Come now, Liam, you cannot tell me that you weren't fornicating with at least one of the teachers". She was definitely teasing, and trying to avoid the comment of beauty on her part. Mostly because it made her feel a little uncomfortable accepting a compliment. It was just who she was.

"Not regularly," Liam supplied with a wolfish grin. "Never more than once, actually." It wasn't true, but she was goading him, "tell me, is that something you learn in teachers college; how to be lousy in bed?" He was only teasing, of course, but it was funny because it was Alix.

Alix looked at her brother for a moment and raised her eyebrow. "Come now, Liam, your brother was extremely satisfied by our love making" she knew that it might have been a little inappropriate to tease the man that way and she was definitely laughing as much as possible in front of her own mind.

"I've always been the most difficult Caffrey to please, you know" Liam answered, because he didn't know how else to. He'd always be in his brother's shadow with her, even though he had wanted her first, known her first. It wasn't fair and in his own head he was a petulant child about it.

"Perhaps you shouldn't be so difficult then you might have acquired some... How do the children phrase it these days? Ass?" She wasn't sure if she was even saying it right, Alix was so lost in the past that she hardly lived in the present, unless it was with Leland because he constantly brought her back to the current time.

"Acquired some ass?" Liam asked, eyebrows raised in amusement. "I don't think it's something you acquire" He laughed. "And besides that, I get plenty of ass" Even if it wasn't necessarily the ass he wanted.

((she is so tiring to write sometimes lol... the funny thing is, my brain thinks like this normally))Alix looked at him a little strangely "well I have no inclination of what phrases children utilise these days" she said, shaking her head a little bit. "I do not need to be informed of your conquests anymore than you desired to learn of my love life where your brother was concerned" she said, shaking her head a little bit.
