The Basics
Name? "Cormac Donleavy"
Age? "Thirty-three."
Height and stature? "I'm six foot five, and I guess kind of skinny? Lanky? But I've got some muscle."
Hair colour? "Brown."
Eye colour? "Brown."
Skin tone? "Generally run from a milky white to a pasty white."
Do they speak with an accent? "Yeah, actually. I've got a bit of an irish brogue. I'm told that it gets stronger when I've been drinking, or something."
Where are you from? "Originally? Limerick, Ireland. But I also lived in Boston, Massachusetts for awhile, so there is that as well."
Where are you now? "Ashwick Valley."
the backstory
Who are your parents? Biologically and socially. "My parents have always been my parents. Dave and Mary Donleavy. I don't get what you mean by 'socially', but those are my biological parents."
What is your earliest memory? "Our first apartment in Limerick. It was kind of small and kind of mildewy, but it was ours."
What did you want to be when you grew up? "Oh, I don't know. I guess a professional rugby player or something like that. I didn't think too much about that stuff when I was a young gun."
What did your parents want you to be? "My parents always just wanted us kids to be happy, and be the best at whatever we decided to be. They're pretty accepting parents, when you really get down to it."
Do you have siblings? Older or younger? Brothers or sisters? "I have eight siblings. Seamus is my only older. I've got seven youngers. We range in age from 35 to 18."
Do you have or have you ever had children? How many? "No kids, nope."
Do you have or have ever had a significant other? Are you still with them? Why? Why not? "I was engaged once. Shit didn't exactly work out with that - kind of caught her cheating on me, that kind of puts and damper on the relationship, you know? Since then - not really. Tried dating a few times, really can't settle down though. Not for more than a few hours, anyway, until I meet this girl Lottie. We got together, things were great. She passed away a few years back. Haven't really dated since then. Before her, I was pretty much a manwhore. Am I going to get back on my game? Maybe."
What were you doing right before this moment? "I don't know. Tv?"
Up until now, what's the most noteworthy thing you've done? To you? To the people around you? "I got married? I guess we went over that."
What was your education like? "I did the parochial schools back in Ireland for the equivalent of what's a K through 12 here. Kind of barely graduated sort of thing. Since then, I did some trade classes to get my license to become a commercial plumber. But I ended up leaving that field, so those classes were kind of a bust, weren't they?"
the tastes
What's your favourite colour? "Olive green."
Do you choose to wear a scent? What is it? "I usually just kind of let Speed Stick be my scent. I don't really wear cologne."
Do you care about what things look like? All things, or only some? "Not really? I guess I like the things around me to mostly be functional things. I'm a pretty practical guy - I don't like things that are too pretty or are too expensive, but that really don't serve a practical purpose."
What's your favourite ice cream flavour? "Cookie dough."
Are you a tea, or coffee drinker? Or soft drinks, or do you drink a lot of alcohol? What kind? "I'm a coffee man, but I won't turn down some breakfast tea. I guess I drink a fair amount of sodas. I drink... copiously. Maybe too much. People tell me I'm an alcoholic, I don't know. I'm a whiskey man."
What kind of books do you read? What TV shows and movies do you watch? "I really don't read books. They kind of put me to sleep. As far as TV, I watch mostly sports - all the Boston teams. And for movies, I like the darker comedies, the raunchy comedies, and like... action movies, mob movies. That sort of thing."
What kind of music do you like? "Mostly rock, classic rock, punk rock, and a lot of that outlaw country sort of thing. Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and all them."
If you were about to die, what would you have as your last meal? "McDonalds. The entire menu. Just walk in and be like, 'Gimmie dat'."
Are you hedonistic? In all cases? Or does practicality sometimes/always/often win out? "What's hedonistic mean? Like pleasure? I really, really like to feel good - almost to a fault. There's not much I won't do to feel good. But as far as like lavish stuff, expensive stuff? That's a no, generally, unless there's a good reason to buy the expensive thing over the cheaper item."
Do they have any philias or phobias? "I'm afraid of being left. That's my biggest fear. I have some serious trust and abandonment issues, and I'm always terrified that women will cheat on me. And that isn't really a reflection on them, either. That's mostly me. There's some stuff I just can't get over from the past, and it kind of keeps imprinting itself in my daily life. I'm working on it."
The Randoms
What did you have for breakfast this morning? "Oh, god, I don't really remember? Probably eggs and toast, or something."
What ridiculous belief/s did you have as a child? "I thought that radios were full of small people, having a talk. Funny that I work for a radio station now."
Do you like marshmallows? "Oh, sure. Delicious."
Do you sleep on your side, front, or back? "Stomach, and side, mostly. I really can't fall asleep on my back."
Do you work better with sound or silence? "Sound. I kind of like a dull roar happening around me."
Do you have a strange obsession with something minor? "I don't know?"
Do you like art? "I don't know much about art, but I like looking at cool stuff?"
How fast can you run? "Pretty fast, but I'm not really agile. Too big to have that."
