anxious, nervous, excited, relieved. was how ayden was feeling tonight. she was finally going to see cameron after, how many months now? she lost count. but, she was going to see him TONIGHT and she couldn't be anymore happier. she missed him. missed him dearly. he was her best friend, despite how long they haven't got in touch. he was her bestie and, she loved him dearly. that could never fade away in her mind. sighing as she paced back and forth in her bedroom, ayden raked her fingers through her hair and inhaled deeply, going over her attire for the hundredth time now. nibbling down on the corner of her upper lip, she nodded her head in approval and inhaled. finally, girl. damn.
grabbing all her items, ayden closed her bedroom door behind her and ran down stairs, cellphone in hand, texting cameron that she will be there shortly. ugh, just the name alone caused her lips to form into wide grin and cheeks to flush. if you couldn't tell by now, she still had that little girl crush on him, but.. that's her little secret and there's no telling when she will admit that to him.. or herself even. she still couldn't believe that he was gone for a while. he wasn't here.. when she needed him the most. but, that didn't matter to her anymore. he was back home, back in her life, everything was going to be okay again.
strapping herself, ayden licked across her lips, making sure she had everything that she needed, mostly her sketch books and her art supplies. can't go ANYWHERE without them. anywhere. nodding, a soft smile graced her lips and she took off, driving her way to their usual location, the warehouse. it's going to be weird heading over there, knowing that cam will be there. for a few months while she was in town, she was always there. alone, just her and her thoughts, her painting. not anymore.
approaching the destination, she parked her car, getting out of it and walked over to the passenger's side and grabbing her things, along with a jacket, just in case it gets chilly later on in the night. nibbling on her upper lip, ayden closed the door with her hip and slowly made her way to the warehouse, cautiously looking around the premises, making sure there was nothing out of the ordinary there. opening the door, she stopped for a quick second and took a deep breath, eyes slowly closing and inhaled. this was it. the face to face moment with the one and only cameron metz. here we go. walking in, she glanced around and kinked an eyebrow, nerves rapidly kicking in now. cameron?
The old abandoned warehouse. It'd been Cameron's secret hideout of sorts throughout much of his adolescence and teenage years. He'd grown up there, loving how much privacy it had withheld whenever he needed a place to crash and burn. It was always his place of choice whenever he needed time to himself to just maintain his peace of mind. Throughout the years, many different people had found themselves occupying their time with him, but no person had spent as much time side by side with him than his best friend Ayden. She had been the one person who no matter what had stood beside him. Even when he was a wild ass kid who would destroy little to everything out of anger, she was there for him and he owed a great amount of gratitude for her friendship. She put up with him when no one else would.
Sitting in a ragged chair that he could recall bringing up with friends forever ago, Cammy stared at the time on his phone to count down the minutes when he'd be faced to face with the love of his life yet again. Ayden had always known it, yet never really reacted on his feelings toward her. She was focused on making something with herself and though at times it pissed him off that she wasn't willing to just give him a chance, he knew and respected her decision to remain single. He didn't really take the time out to spruce himself up for her, she knew the deal and how he looked so he didn't personally do anything to look better for her. It was just great that after so many months apart, that they were finally able to come together to see each other. Cam had been sent away to rehab for a couple of months to get his life in check. He'd been off several sets of pills he'd used to take for hyperactivity, upon many other of his problems, but overall his aggression still came out at times he didn't want it too. It was all a work in progress, but he was happy to be able to finally show her that he was making better decisions with his life for once.
"When the hell is she gonna show?" he spoke to himself, looking at the clock once more before realizing that the door was opening across the room. he paused to himself before taking a deep breath. Standing up out of the chair, he walked forward a few paces and stopped to himself as he laid eyes on her for the first time in what seemed like an eternity. "... Hi. How are you?"

here she was, standing in front of this opening door, inside of the warehouse, nervous as ever. ayden slowly closed her eyes again, counting backwards from ten and inhaled, her nerves slowly decreasing now and opened her eyes when she felt another presence in the room. one step. two steps. three steps. stop. she inhaled again and looked ahead, chest suddenly beating rapidly when her eyes came across this male figure. this handsome one at that. oh my god, there he was. ayden pressed her lips together and softly inhaled, keeping her gaze at his as her lips slowly formed into a warm smile. she wanted to say hello, but, her mouth wouldn't dare to say a single word right now. but, ayden wasn't complaining. she really didn't wanted to talk yet. she wanted to take a minute. one swift minute to glance at the guy in front of her. at the guy , who since day one had a hold on her, and remember exactly why he did. but, hearing his voice, made that minute disappear. as always.
...hi. she softly said, smile still gracing her lips as she took a few steps towards him. how.. how are you? she gently whispered, taking baby steps now until she was finally face to face with her. ayden looked at him, her eyes catching his as her smile widened, chest racing and inhaled, her left arm slowly pointing at the ground, feeling the bag with her supplies and jacket slid off and touched the ground. ... hi. she said once again with a small chuckle as she stepped closer to him, both arms wrapping gently around him, pulling him in for a hug. i've missed you so much. she whispered, hiding her face against the crook of his neck, secretly trying to hold back tears.
just seeing him, being this close to him right now.. felt surreal to her. ayden still couldn't believe that cameron was back in her life.. again.
Nothing meant more to him than being able to stand there in the moment the two of them were having right now. Not even speaking words to each other, their connection was more solid than ever. There was something about her aura, so serene and pure, but he could see that overtime she'd began to taint. He most certainly didn't know anything about what she'd been through while he were away and frankly, he didn't give a fuck. She was there for him through whatever and he was going to do the same if she ever needed him. Her eyes displayed quite enough amount of pain between the both of them, but even still there was a great amount of excitement there as well. As he looked at her with a coy smile on her face, he couldn't help but smile back as well. forever beautiful, he thought to himself with a simple thought, taking a step forward to close the gap between the two of them. He needed to be near her, to capture as much of her warmth as he could.
Words couldn't explain how he felt in the seconds he finally heard her voice. There was a sense of relief that came over him, he was no longer as stiff as before she had walked into the room. She eased his tension by just saying hello. "I'm uh.. I'm," he paused, still examining her as she inched in closer to stand before him face to face. "I'm good." Ayden pulled in over to her into an embrace, causing him to wrap his own arms around her as well. It felt good to be able to touch her again, even if it'd been a simple hug. He could recall how much he'd ask for a hug when they were younger just to be able to surround himself in her positive energy. She had the ability to make everything seem right. "I've been waiting for this moment for a long, long time. I was scared I'd never be able to see your face again."
He leaned just a tad bit from out of the hug, his arms still grasping at her waist, looking her in the eyes. Removing just one of his hands from her, he moved a could of strands of her hair from out of her face. ".. sorry, I just- you're- i missed you too," he couldn't exactly admit to her how beautiful she was out of fear alone, but she had to have known by now just how smitten with her he was. No distance between them could sever that. He loved her, it was just gaining the courage to be able to finally say it.

just the look in cameron's eyes, the way he looked at her felt so surreal to her. ayden still couldn't believe that this moment was actually happening again. still couldn't believe that she was face to face with her best friend, the guy whom she secretly was head over heels for. her eyes instantly went from his to the small gap that was between them and took it upon herself to close the gap and looked back up at him and smiled, hearing him stutter a bit, well to her, it seems like he did. she found it cute though. first time for everything, right? that's good to hear she softly said and inhaled, feeling his touch around her as he returned her hug and closed her eyes, feeling several chills lingering down her spine while cherishing this moment. the first hug in ages, so she had to remember it. it was the right thing to do. never know when they would hug again, right?
pressing her lips together, ayden slowly opened her eyes and closed them again, fingers lightly caressing through his scalp as he spoke and smiled to herself. she slowly pulled back to look at him and shook her head. i was too. she whispered, lips forming into a soft smile as her fingers gently caressed the side of his face. look at us now. face to face.. like old times. she added, chuckling lightly, eyes gazing at him, taking in every feature that her eyes can possibly reach. ayden watched as cameron pulled back a bit and closed her eyes, smiling lowly when he pushed several strands of her hair behind her ear and opened her eyes again, smile increasing slowly. she watched as he stuttered again and shook her head. cameron, breathe. she whispered to him and chuckled, her hand resting atop his on her waist and inhaled. it's just me. you could say anything and everything to me. you know that, right? she assured him and tilted her head to the side, bringing her lips to side of his face and gently pecked his cheek. no need to feel nervous. she whispered against his skin and pulled away, bringing her eyes to his and locking them there.
There was no secret that Cameron had been nervous. Here he stood alongside the girl he adored, having been away from her for months on end without any real clue when the two would be reunited. It was a surreal moment for him. As he held on to her, he shook profusely out of mere habit of not knowing just how long the time spent between them would be for. The last thing he needed was to finally get the chance to see her again only for her to leave. The thought had crossed his mind almost instantly with seeing her again, knowing that if he fucked up he could lose her again, but after she had instructed him to breathe he couldn't help but to relax some. She certainly had that effect on him. Ayden was able to both speed his pulse and calm it on command. He looked her hard in the eyes as he smiled. He wasn't generally much of a person who smiled, opting to allow his frowning and negativity to cloud how great of a smile he actually had. Whenever he'd get around the girl in front of him though, he was liable to let out a couple.. again, the girl just seemed to have that effect on him. He was normally a reckless asshole who didn't seem to want to grow up, but when she came into the picture he was calmer, more in control of his attitude, and overall a respectful man.
"I'm sorry, I'm not thinking clearly.. or speaking clearly, obviously." he spoke slowly, feeling her hands glide on top of his as he rested them on her hips. "I can't help but feel nervous though. You're here, looking extremely gorgeous and-" Cameron paused to catch his breath. "It's hard to gather the words to explain my feelings for you. I mean, you know how I feel about you, but I just can never say the right thing. I'm just really happy you came, AJ. It means more to me than you'd ever know.."
The two locked eyes for a moment, not saying anything to each other as the seconds raced by. Cam made the first move, kissing Ayden on her forehead before the two finally pulled away and she asked what exactly they were going to be doing tonight. He was unsure. There wasn't really much of a plan as to what the two were gonna do on his part. He'd been so surprised that she'd agreed to come in the first place to actually plan something significant for the two to do. "Well I didn't actually think you'd show, so I kind of didn't get anything together.. but," he glanced over toward his work station with his supplies all set up like they always were before then noticing her own bag on the floor. "We could always work on something, like old times?"

ayden couldn't help but to chuckle softly at him, stumbling a bit with his words. wasn't in a bad way though. more in an adorable way. she never saw cameron like this. ever. so this was new to her, seeing him like this. all nervous, yet adorable all at once with the words that kept coming out of his mouth. smiling warmly at him, she gently slid her fingers through his slick hair and kept it there, gently pressing her forehead against his and inhaled. cameron, stop, okay. don't talk. just stay quiet and enjoy this moment that we're having together. okay? no nervousness, no nothing. just us. you and i... enjoying each other company as if we're the only ones left in this messed up world. alright? she softly mumbled and inhaled, her lips grazing the side of his face and gave him another peck to his cheek, before moving her lips to his lips and whispered against it. just you and me. ayden gave his earlobe a light peck and leaned back so that her eyes was now on his and smiled, letting him know that it's just the two of them here now. like always.
the silence between them now, was like heaven. so peaceful, serene to ayden. she always enjoyed moments like this, especially with him. kept her mind, thoughts at ease and she hadn't felt that in such a long time. so, to finally get that feeling again, was priceless for the nineteen year old. she didn't want to lose this feeling. not just yet. all her thoughts faded when her eyes fluttered at the touch of cameron's lips against her forehead, causing a light smile to grace her lips. ayden slowly opened her eyes and looked at him, taking in every feature that her eyes can possibly reach and inhaled. what he said next, made ayden shake her head. of course i would've showed, cam. why wouldn't i? she chuckled softly and looked over towards his direction and smiled, his supplies in sight and looked at him when he spoke again. a soft smile graced her lips, once again as she nodded her head. i would love that.. she told him, running her hand down his forearm until she reached his hand and gently laced her fingers in with his and smiled, her free hand grabbing her own bag.
with cameron and both of them doing something that they loved deeply, the night was going to be perfect. as always.
This was everything Cameron could have wanted and then some. Being able to see the love of his life once again meant the world to him of course, but finally being able to confess his entire collection of feelings to her took quite a toll on him. He was never truly someone to get nervous. He was a confident asshole who didn't have trouble speaking his mind. In fact, his mouth had gotten him in trouble more times than he was able to count and it was always Ayden who was there to give him a hand before he made even more of a fool of himself. Thankfully right now, she was doing her best to get him to calm down before he had a nervous breakdown. As he calmed his jitters, AJ had begged him to stop talking altogether and to enjoy the moment for what it was. She was so good with words. He definitely had no issue with imaging them as the last two fucked up beings on the world. They already were on the brink of ruining their own lives without really needing to acknowledge it, but together it was the two of them against the damned world. Without her, he was nothing. Cameron was ready to take not only their friendship to the next level, but their overall relationship together as well. He knew he had what it took to care for her, to be her rock when she needed him to be. Of course he'd been about wanting to get in her pants at an early time they'd known each other, but that wasn't even a priority, he just wanted to be with her. He'd give anything to be with her.
This is.. real. Fucking real. He thought to himself, breathing normally now as the two of them stood in silence with each other face to face. I can't do anything, but revel in the moment because I don't know if we'll get more.. I want more, but I can only wait on her. I'll always wait for her. And that was the truth, Cameron had given Ayden his heart. He couldn't even look at another girl with the intentions of wanting to romance them. Sure he could admit when another girl was beautiful, that she had a banging body, and everything yet there would never be anything to actually go further than that. He was too attached to the woman in front of him to ever want to give himself to another. She'll be mine, His mind processed as he'd kissed her on the forehead. He would've taken it further by kissing her on the lips, but he wanted to take things a bit more slowly than he could have. One day.. I've waited all my life and I can keep waiting.
Cameron pursed his lips together before biting his lower one on instinct. "Honestly," he started, looking away from her and then shifting his eyes back. He wanted to be truthful with her. He didn't think she'd show and he had to tell her way. "There was a moment where we drifted apart and I was afraid I had already lost you before I had the chance to prove that we belong together. I've fucked up so many times in my life, AJ.." his bit his lip once more. "And more than enough, you've been there to stand firmly beside me.. the one moment you needed me though, I was gone- And.. I feared that you wouldn't want shit to do with me anymore." he felt his heart flutter once more just staring in her eyes. She had that affect on him and then some.
"I've got some paint over there.. if you wanna set something up, I mean.."
