You Can't Take the Sky From Me
Firefly/Texan crew
So, I had this idea of make the equivalent to the Firefly television show. I made Agnes with the idea in mind, and thought it would be really cool to kinda have a little something put together that would make a lot of funny moments, as well as some of their serious ones. With that said, I welcome you aboard Serenity, and into the Texan crew! ^^
Just a little background before we get started, so you aren't completely clueless as to what's the deal with these nine bamfs and what their story is. So, as to how they all met, I'll shine a little light on their story. All these awesome folks originated back in Austin, Texas, where most of them come from. Of course, these badasses didn't all meet at once, no sir. Aggie here met a few of the members of the group, who welcomed her with open arms, and this was back in Austin, Texas. At age twenty-five she is the youngest of the group and gets plenty of attention. She introduced her big brother to the group because he needed more fun in his life. Their little group may have it's odd bits and pieces, like the Catholic man who drinks alcohol and preaches to the others every now and then but doesn't take any major actions to leave or prevent anything from further happening. Of course, they're all one big happy family, with the ups and downs, but they take care of each other.
For the requests, I'm going to go from left to right according to the picture above (the woman on the far left is Agnes, just so you're aware). I'll put a little info on the characters in the request, just so you know the basics of each character. As for membergroup, these guys would probably be locals or tourists, and maybe a returnee or two. Back to the individual requests, anything that isn't specific or mentioned means that it's up to you and whoever else it may concern. Whether one of them has a child, or whether one of them has been married before, or whatever else comes to mind.
The Characters (From left to right):
River Tam(Summer Glau): Taken by Tigersong
Shepard Book (Ron Glass): Open
Zoe Washburne (Gina Torres): Open
Jayne Cobb (Adam Baldwin): Open
Kaywinnit "Kaylee" Lee Frye (Jewel Staite): Open
Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds (Nathan Fillion): Open
Hoban "Wash" Washburne (Alan Tyduk): Open
Simon Tam (Sean Maher): Open
Inara Serra (Morena Baccarin): Open
Book here is the oldest one of the group. He may seem out of place, but truth b e known, he actually provides a bit of balance to the group, and keeps most of them out of jail. He's a Catholic man, but still hangs out with the other eight, which most people find rather odd. He'll preach to the others about some of the stuff they do, but respects their wishes, only warning them occasionally when the stray a little to far down the wrong path. He has little luck with Agnes, who seems to ignore what he has to say most of the time, but he still tries. He respects all women, and respects most of the actions of the other members of the group. He's most likely a priest or something, or has a strong belief of God, and may or may not have a job in an office or something. (As for the hair, if anyone asks, he went gray early)
I'm not sure how he met the group, once we get a few people in the group I'm sure we'll be able to decide, but it would probably be some odd reason. He respects each of the group members, and likes to talk with Kaylee (you'll find out about her a bit later) the most. He isn't a big fan of Jayne (you'll also find out about him later), but tolerates him (you can decide why).
28-30 ~ Gina Torres ~ Zoe Washburne ~ The Old Friend
This lovely woman here shall be referred to as Zoe for the time being. Zoe here is a lovely woman who enjoys the company of every member of the group. She seems to be one of the few who has a balance of a semi-proper manner and a somewhat rowdy personality of some of the more cowboyish Texans. She has a strong sense of loyalty, and her compassion extends to each of the group members. She can be dead serious at times, and at others she can make you roll on the floor, dying of laughter. She should have some sort of military background, or something that she and Mal were in together that would forge the deep bonds of loyalty and trust that they have in each other. What exactly they did together is up to you and whoever takes Mal.
Zoe and Mal have been friends for over six years. I was thinking they could know each other from service in the military, but that was just a thought. She'd been a resident of Austin for a while, that is until the group traveled to Ashwick. Zoe is married to Wash, and they are deeply in love! Other than that, you're welcome to do whatever you like with her.
28-31 ~ Adam Baldwin ~ Jayne Cobb ~ The meathead/muscles
Guess who this is! It's Jayne Cobb! Janye is the muscles, and also the meathead. Sure, he got though school (so he claims), but it certainly seems like he didn't at times. He'll ask questions that a second grader could answer, but he means well. He's ready to do anything, and I mean anything. He also has no shame, none, nada, zip. I'm going to use a movie reference as an example; So Jayne got a hat that his mother made in the mail. First off, he read the letter out loud, and didn't care if the others heard him. Now to the hat. This hat was absolutely ridiculous. It was yellow and orange, and had a string puffball on either end and at the top, like a thin, not so fuzzy Eskimo hat. And he just put it on his head with a smile. Wash (a character from the show) said,'When people see a man like that walk down the street with a hat like that on his head, they'll know he's not afraid of anything.' Jayne wore that hat for the rest of the episode, and it was hilarious.
So, relationship wise, Jayne is somewhat hard to explain. At times it seems he wants to settle down, and other times it seems he just wants to get a chick in his pants. Jayne respects Mal and Zoe. I would think twice if you were trying to screw with him or anyone inside the group. He finds Agnes somewhat odd, and can be rather irritated at times with Kaylee's constant chipper attitude. He isn't a big fan of Simon, and would prefer Kaylee's constant chattering to Simon's confusing science talk.
26-28 ~ Jewel Staite ~ Kaylee Frye ~ The Glue/The Chipper One
This here is Kaylee. She's kinda like the glue that holds this group together. She's a sweet person, and is very friendly. She was a resident in Texas for quite some time. She met the group early on, when it was Zoe, Mal, and Jayne. She enjoyed their company, and welcomed newcomers. She followed Simon and Agnes when they came to Ashwick, and the others sort of followed. She's a bouncing bubble of energy, and is always so damn chipper. It can be obnoxious at times how chipper and happy she can be, but it's nice that she can seem to find the bright side of every situation.
Kaylee here is a real sweetheart, and treats everyone in the group with love and respect. Mal and Kaylee have a brother/sister sort of relationship. He's like the brother she's never had. She finds Jayne odd, but will laugh at his jokes, because he's still a friend. She respects Zoe, but there isn't a ton of one on one interaction between the two. Kaylee seems most comfortable around Simon, Mal, and Agnes. She loves to joke around with Agnes, though she doesn't always have time to play pranks. Kaylee and Simon like each other in a romantic sort of way, but whether or not they're dating, or whether they will date, is up to you and whoever takes Simon.
30-32 ~ Nathan Fillion ~ Malcolm Reynolds ~ The Leader
Drum roll please! This bamf is the leader of the group, Malcolm Reynolds! Mal is like the leader of the group, the one who seems to come up with the plans. Sure, he might not be like complete party material to keep up with some of the more wild members of the group, but he does his best. He should have some sort of military background or something along with Zoe, but that's up to you and the person who takes Zoe. Mal is intent on being sure that everyone is at least somewhat satisfied, and, if they aren't, they are to speak their mind or suck it up and live with it. He'd be the second or third to swear if something bad happened, 'cause Agnes and Kaylee would probably 'beat him to the punch'. He's not a big supporter of religious groups, he much prefers not to worry about how the world was formed or what to believe/worship, but he's still somewhat tolerant of the religions followed in the group.
Mal here is the leader figure of the group. He is like a father at times, keeping everyone in check, though he, like everyone else, has problems keeping Agnes on the right path. Mal and Kaylee have a brother/sister sort of relationship. He's like the brother she's never had. Mal has known Zoe for a great deal of years. Over SIX! Yeah yeah, that might not be a great deal of years, but it's enough to form a deep trust bond. Like the trust bond of a captain and his/her first mate. Now, the relationship between Mal and Jayne is rocky terrain. Mal doesn't take Jayne serious at times, but they occasionally have their little disputes that can get out of hand when they get drunk, so these two are never left alone together... Mal isn't really looking for a romantic or physical relationship, instead he's more focused on making sure the group is settled in alright, or at least the ones that have moved on to Ashwick. As for Mal's relationship with the other group people, that's up to you. (make it entertaining)
28-32 ~ Alan Tudyk ~ Hoban "Wash" Washburne ~ The Comic Relief
This here is Wash. He's a real goofball and will say something funny just to lighten the mood, and is even funny when he doesn't mean to be. Wash is a real softy, and cares about everyone in the group (though he's wary of Mal and Jayne, who are capable of beating him up). Wash will come up with jokes on the spot and will keep a conversation going until he's the only one talking and it starts to get awkward. Wash jokes around with everyone, though he's cautious when poking fun at certain members of the group *cough*Mal, Jayne, and Agnes*cough*.
Wash here is the clown of the group. He's married to Zoe, who he loves dearly. Wash likes to sit around and chat with Kaylee, and will exchange words with Inara, Simon, and Shepard Book from time to time. Wash and Agnes will joke around, and will occasionally team up to poke fun at Jayne. Wash likes to poke fun at Jayne, though he normally dreads the retaliation. Wash is really just a laid-back, fun-loving guy.
This here is Agnes' brother. For now we'll use his firefly name, Simon. So Simon here is a few years older that Aggie, but isn't the oldest one in the group. He's the successful, sophisticated one of the group. He'd probably be a doctor or a lawyer or something that reels in a lot of money. He provides for his sister, who seems to not care about her pay, and he cares for her, even though she can be a pain.
Simon has and odd relationship with some of the others, like the awkward moments between he and Mal, and the glances that he and Jayne shoot at each other every now and then. He cares very much for Agnes, and doesn't mind her odd behavior, or her tattoos. Simon and Kaylee like each other, like in a romantic sort of way, but whether or not they're dating, or if they will date, is up to you and whoever claims Kaylee.
Inara is the girly, fancy one of the group. She's also the whore of the group. Inara, at night, is a stripper/prostitute/poll dancer (which of the three is your choice). She does have a day job, something that probably pays a descent amount (but low enough where she would still turn to a lowly job at a club/selling her body). Even though she's a whore, Inara has a kind spirit. She's a kindhearted woman who cares deeply about those she is close to, and treasures her friendships. She's a rather girly person, spending a lot of time with Kaylee doing girlish things.
Inara is close with everyone, though her relationship with Mal is always on rocky territory, seeing as their personalities are at war with each other, and Inara has a crush of Mal. Inara and Jayne's relationship is also a little hard to define, though it's more at an acquaintance level than anything. Inara and Kaylee go out and do girly things, and they often try and drag Agnes along, though they don't normally get the younger girl to agree to come with them. I'm pretty lax with the relationship Inara has with everyone else, though she obviously enjoys everyone's company.
