Charlotte tried to meet with all the teachers a few times a year, it helped to have an extra pair of eyes and ears around. Teenagers tended to act
different in a school setting than in her office. When she was around they weren't their normal selves, they knew she was watching them and she had more power over them then their teachers. A lot of kids didn't respect their teachers and would run all over them. Her kids didn't run all over her. They either hated her, respected her, or feared her as they got older. She saw a different side of them. Not that the person they were at school was who they really were, a lot liked to show off and act up at school, it did help her to know about the other side of them. If she could get their friends to help she would but she couldn't so she had to rely on their teachers, they saw them every day and dealt with them constantly, they were good allies for her. She had already talked to a few teachers but she was taking her time and she wouldn't be done today, there was no need to rush this and she'd end up coming back a few times anyway. "Ms. Moore." she said as she knocked on the open door to Lydia's classroom. They hadn't met before for some reason but all the teachers had been told that Charlotte and a few of her associates would be coming around to talk to them. This was the first time Lydia had any of her kids and Charlotte has waited until she had a free period. She walked further into the room, her heels clicking against the floor, and held out her hand. "I'm Charlotte Henriquez. I'm a social worker, you have a few of my kids in your class this year."

Lydia sighed as she picked up a few pieces of trash off the floor. Her eyes scrutinized the wrappers but it wasn't candy from the way it was shaped. Most likely it came from paper, the bits and pieces that were too small for anyone to even want to grab off the floor themselves. It was a good thing she saw this before tackling those tests or else who knows how much was going to end up on these floors by the time the janitor showed up? Her planning period was only an hour long but usually she was able to get a few things done during her time spent in this office. However today was going to be a little different than her previous planning periods. Most of the staff had been alerted that Charlotte and a couple of her co-workers were meeting with some of them to discuss their students and possibly what it meant when it came to the having a social worker. Lydia was a little nervous about meeting with the older woman if she were being honest with herself. All this talk about social work was going to drive her crazy. She hoped her kids were in good hands and were going to get through all this mess. It would make them stronger in the end because of it. Of course, none of the information that was passed on between them adults was supposed to be talked about outside the classroom. It was strictly confidential. Which Lydia swore she would keep all of what was said to her to the grave. Dusting herself off, the redhead scanned her room again one more time before sitting back down on her desk. She had just opened up her laptop to look at her roster for her next class when a knock at the door made her look up. The woman gave her a shy smile, holding out her hand to shake the other woman's own. '' Hi. That's me. It's nice to meet you. Call me Lydia please. You have such a pretty name Ms. Henriquez.'' Her fingers slicked back a few loose strands of hair from her face, trying her best to look overwhelmed. '' Here sit down please. I don't want you standing the whole time.'' Quickly the thirty three year grabbed a spare comfy chair that was next to her own, pushing it towards Charlotte. '' That way we both can be comfortable.'' Her laugh had a nervous tint to it. Her head nodded. '' Yes my principal told me I was supposed to be expecting you. Is there anything I need to know right away?''

As they shook hands Charlotte offered the younger woman a small smile. This could be intimidating for teachers who had never done this before, she knew that from experience. It could be nerve wraking and intimidating but really it didn't have to be. "Thank you. Lydia, feel free to call me Charlotte." She was intimidating herself, just by being herself, not even social working related stuff. It helped people be more comfortable with her if they were on a first name basis. She wordlessly took the chair and moved it towards Lydia's desk and sat down. "Just that this isn't as scary or intimidating or stressful as it has to be." Charlotte said with a soft tone, waiting until Lydia sat down to continue. "I just need you to be my ears and eyes, watch some of my kids, tell me you notice any major behavioral problems. if grade start to drop or rise suddenly. If they start keeping to themselves or causing more problems, causing problems when they didn't before. If you notice something, contact me and tell me." She paused to look through her briefcase for the correct files. A ton of her kids went here but she needed the few that Lydia had specifically. "Do you have any questions, though?" She asked, looking up at Lydia as he took out one of the folders.

The teacher tried her best to remain as cool and collected as possible. It would look unprofessional if she started to freak out over a simple meeting about her students. Although, in the almost nine years that she had been with Lincoln High, social workers had never approached her or any of the other staff about their students, Guess there was a first time for everything nowadays. She fixed her posture, sitting up straighter than she normally would. '' You're welcome.'' Her head bobbed up and down, breathing out a sigh of relief. Her face started to feel more relaxed, the woman's heart wasn't racing as much as it had been before. '' That felt so reassuring you have no idea. Thank you again.'' She laughed softly, her hand covering her face in mild embarrassment. '' Oh is it obvious I haven't done this before? I mean I know you guys do an amazing job everyday for the kids and I can never thank you or your co-workers enough for that. But one's ever personally sat down to meet with me one on one about what my kids might be going through or how this whole thing works. I'm a little curious but I'm not gonna push any buttons. I promise. '' Her hands went up to swipe at the air. Lydia sat back and listened intently, all her attention on Charlotte as the words came pouring out. She nodded at the appropriate times, said some '' mhm's. '' briefly and just took it all in, as much as she could. '' I will definitely keep my eyes open. Anything out of the ordinary will be noticed. Guaranteed.'' The thirty three old glanced at the files Charlotte had laid out. She swallowed. '' Am I allowed to know which one of my students is in your care? ''
