James couldn't sleep. Every night was starting to become restless, and it was getting on her nerves. Any day now, she was close to popping, but it couldn't come any faster. She wanted a decent night sleep and right now, would be the best time. Sighing heavily, she ran her fingers through her hair. She slowly got up on her feet, her belly leading the way. It seem the only thing on her body that got bigger was her breasts, thighs and backside. In a way, she was happy that she had some meat on her bones for once.
Walking away from the couch, her hand rested on her lower back as she waddled towards the steps. She knew that she shouldn't be doing this in the first place. But she wanted to get herself in bed and try and sleep. Taking each step slowly, wishing her child would be still for once. She smiled slightly, her feet hitting the second floor and slowly making her way to the bedroom.
Trying to be quiet as possible, not wanting to wake him up. Her feet moved across the carpet, getting herself to her side of the bed. She froze, feeling a slight pain. She moaned, her hand pressing against her stomach before feeling something wet running down her leg. She wasn't due for another month. "Jay." She muttered, turning her head in his direction. "Jay! Get up!" It was happening.

The countdown was on for baby Gabriel's arrival. One more month and he was ready to explore the world. Jay on the other hand was coming to terms that he was going to be a dad rather he was in a relationship with James or not. He still had plans to talk things over given the right time. Getting to sleep didn't take him long as he was out like a light nearly two hours ago. He was pretty calm just waiting for things to unfold and getting enough sleep was highly inappropriate being that his favorite hobby would be cut short in a matter of weeks.
He moved slightly and sunk his face in the coolness of the pillow. Footsteps were heard and he didn't move an inch but he felt her near, he always did. Jay did his best to help her out without neither of them getting upset. The whisper was faint and went unnoticed until her voice got louder making him rub his ear. "Okay no need to yell in my damn ear." he rolled his eyes getting from the bed.
Slipping into a pair of jeans and throwing a grey shirt over his bare chest not caring, he pulled a beanie over his ears and grabbed his keys going over to her being careful not to step in the wet spot. He knew walking was just going to be hell and complaints so he carried her all the way out the door unlocking the passenger seat sitting her inside. He backed out of the driveway speeding down the street passing a parked cop and multi-tasking given instructions for his dad to stop by their place and get the small bag she had already prepared.
He wasn't about to be one of those crazy new fathers acting like they had no common sense. Freaking out was going to do absolutely nothing but give him a damn headache. He made sure to call ahead of the medical center and smiled seeing two nurses outside with a wheelchair as he pulled up. "See, prepared." he undid his seat belt helping her out pushing her inside following the nurses to the delivery room.
The great debate was rather he felt like changing in scrubs or not. He huffed taking the scrubs from the nurse and going down the hall to change. He pulled his beanie off tossing it seat feeling anxious. He looked up feeling a hand on his shoulder seeing his dad. "Good looking out Grandpa." he smirked. "Are you ready for this experience James?" his father asked turning his attention away from his son.

She was happy that he got up without her screaming for him to get up a few more times. He was actually alert and helping her back down the steps. She hated the fact that she did all of that just for her to turn back around and do it all over again. But that wasn't happening, her feet were lifted from the floor and she was up in his arms. She wasn't getting ready to complain about him doing this because all it was going to do was start up an unnecessary argument between the two.
She sighed, feeling her back rest against the car seat. She closed her eyes, her hands resting against her tummy. This moment was happening. After all this time waiting, it was here. She was nervous, but she couldn't wait to meet her son. That was the only thing that mattered to her right now, getting her son into this world safely. Her eyes looked out her window, watching everything past by before seeing the hospital in her view. She smiled, seeing that he had everything in control for her. If she was on her own, she wouldn't have a clue what to do because she would be a frantic mess.
He helped in the wheelchair, pushing her in and into a room. They got her all set up and placed into a hospital gown. She threw her hair up into a messy bun, not wanting to be bothered with it at all. She sighed, her fingers rubbing her tummy as she rested up in her bed. She smiled, happy to see his father there. Now, it was the waiting game.
She closed her eyes, feeling a contraction coming along. She shook her head, giving a small smile. "Not this part, but I can't wait for him to get here." Her eyes went over to Jayden. "Babe, can I see your phone please?" She asked. She wanted to call her mother. She wanted her here for this. Her father could come if he wanted to, but her mother was a definite.

He was excited to have his father present. He knew that he was going to be less nervous that way. Phones weren't allowed in the hospital being that there was machines and junk but luckily nothing happened yet. He lifted up slightly grabbing the i-phone from his back pocket getting up handing it over to her. He went back to his seat growing impatient at having to even wait. His leg bounced in the chair as he leaned against his dad's shoulder closing his eyes.
The thought of getting least 15 minutes of sleep in was cut short by his dad nudging him with his shoulder. "Oh no. You need to be awake for everything. How many hours of sleep did you get?" he heard. His eyes rolled crossing his arms resting his head back where it was. "Don't push me off. I'm awake. I got here safely didn't I with only two hours of sleep. Two hours of sleep!" he said the last four words a little louder cutting his eyes at his girlfriend from where he sat.
As much as he wanted to be mad for the lack of sleep, it was a good thing. He didn't want to miss out on the birth of his son. The door opened with the doctor walking in introducing himself. Jay was confused on all the medical things that came out his mouth. There was something along the lines of waiting for the dilate and being a certain amount of centimeters. "The look on their faces shows they're lost but I get it so it's okay. Thank you doctor." Gabriel spoke has the doctor placed her chart on the door bed slot.
His hand ran through his messy hair and he sighed knowing he needed some form of coffee in his system. "I'll be back, I need coffee." he pushed himself out of his chair exiting the room getting directions to the cafe. Jay came back with french vanilla coffee for himself and his dad entering to see her mother. He gave a small smile taking his seat sinking into the chair slowly sipping his drink. Time felt like it was moving slow as hell before the doctor entered again preparing himself as the soon to be father still sat next to his own in scrubs sipping slowly on the coffee listening to everything that was being said trying to be as alert as possible.

She smiled, thanking him as she took his phone. She called up her mother, letting her know that she was going to be a grandmother soon. She could hear the excitement in her voice before ending the phone call. She licked her lips, resting back against the pillows. Her eyes closed, feeling another contraction coming along. She moaned softly, her fingers slightly gripping the sheets before releasing.
She swallowed, sighing a bit, trying to get herself comfortable. She heard his voice before raising her hand, flicking him. It wasn't her fault that her water broke. "Shut up." She retorted, really not ready for what was getting ready to come. She heard the door, making her sit up straight, smiling at the doctor.
Everything he was saying, she understood a bit, but not everything and her face had to tell it all. She didn't how long she could wait until she was dilated and was ready to push. She just knew that she wanted her mother there, and she would be okay. She heard Jayden speak before getting up and walking out of the room. It felt like time was taking forever for her son to get here. As much as she didn't like being patient, she had to this time around.
Her eyes went back towards the door again, hearing it open. "Mommy." She smiled, her mother rushing to her side. "Hi sweetheart." The woman smiled at her daughter before turning and saying hello to Gabriel. "You need anything?" She shook her head no, giving a small smile. "Ice chips." She winced before grabbing onto the bed rails. She felt her mother's hand against her back, rubbing back and forth. Hearing the door open again, she knew it was him. She rested back against the pillows, sighing. "How long do these last?" Her mother ran her fingers over her hair. "They'll be over soon." Dana gave her a daughter a kiss on the forehead. "I'll be back." James nodded, before her mother walked out of the room. Her attention went over to Jayden, her fingers coming across his phone. "Babe here." She wanted him to take it, knowing that if she held onto it, he would need a new one before the night was out.

Jayden downed the rest of his coffee. He tossed the empty cup in the nearby trash and turned taking his phone out of James's hand. He turned it off and sat it in the chair. He was more then glad that only her mother and his father were the only ones present. He didn't need or want anybody else to witness the birth as stingy as that sounded. He licked his lips going over to her side gripping the rail leaning over kissing her forehead.
The waiting process was hell and he gave his hand giving her the chance to squeeze it as long as she didn't act all degranged because of the pain. He knew that most women got a epidural to ease the pain. "Think you can be a bad ass and go all nautral with no form of a show?" he grinned stroking her cheek with his thumb. He knew she was capable if she tried do it just this one. "You can do it babygirl." he assured.
The nurses began speaking instructing where her feet should be. What felt like a whole week was only four hours before giving the okay to push. If it wasn't for the coffee then he would be extremely restless by now. This was the moment that they were waiting for. He swallowed hard looking at his dad on the other giving the beautiful girl with the bun his hand to squeeze. Jay listened as instructions were given hoping he wouldn't pass out.
"Okay James, it's time to start pushing. When you're ready of course. I can tell everybody is getting anxious though." the doctor laughed. He stood right in the middle ready for life to be made. Jay winced and rubbed his forehead at what was beginning to unfold. "Come on babe. I know it hurts but the outcome is beautiful." he whispered in her ear pulling away. He bit down on his lip in anticipation knowing his eyes were going to gloss over the more she pushed.

James was happy that it was just her mother and his father in the room with them. She really didn't want a big crowd of people in the room. The ones that were important to her were there and that was all that mattered. Anybody else who wanted to see her could after the birth was done and over with. She smiled, feeling his lips against her forehead.
It felt like it was taking forever as she laid there, going through contractions after contractions, giving his hand a squeeze, wishing that this pain would end. She licked her lips, looking over at him. "I'll be okay." She smiled. She knew that was a lie. She was going to act like this wasn't going to be a painful experience without the epidural. She wished that she would have asked for it. She gave him a nod, resting her head back on the pillows.
Sighing softly, she heard voices coming into the room, her eyes coming across her mother, helping the nurses placing her feet up, getting her ready. She sat up slowly, seeing the doctor in front of her. Her heart was starting to race, seeing that it was time. Time for her to push. She gave a nod, looking over at her mom. Her mom gave her reassured smile, making her do the same.
Her eyes laid on the doctor again, hearing a countdown and a push afterwards. She leaned forward, pushing with all her might before falling back on the pillow. Hearing Jay's voice in her ear, she closed her eyes before sitting up once again, squeezing the life of Jay and his father's hand, crying out in pain. "I can't." She shook her head, resting back on the pillows. "i know it's hard James, but I need you to push." Tears trickled down her cheeks, strands of hair sticking to her face as she sat herself up again and giving another push.
"Almost there James. give me one more big push." She nodded, sitting up once again and gripping their hands tighter as she gave one last push. Everything started to become a blur as she rested back, sighing heavily. Hearing a loud cry filled the room, let her know that it was over. her eyes filled up with tears, knowing that he was here. He was finally here.

All the squeezing she did, he was positive that his hand had a red shade to it. Her grip was deathly strong for a girl and that moment he got to pull back, he shook his hand trying to gain the feeling back. The loud cry made his heart melt with excitement and he felt himself getting misty in the eye. He turned way from everybody wiping the few tears that fell down his face. "Would you like to cut the cord?" the doctor asked quickly getting a nod from the nineteen year old.
He moved in closer taking the scissors in his hand cutting the umblical cord that was attached to Gabriel's belly button. Biting down on his now trembling lip, he watched a nurse take him to clean him up. Jayden went over to James giving her a quick peck on the lips knowing she had to be exhausted. "You did amazing and he's perfect if I may say so myself." he smiled feeling a tap on his shoulder. He turned with a mega watt smile taking his son into his arms knowing he was nice and toasty in the blue blanket.
"Hey little guy. Oooh! Are you going to be a sleeper like daddy and ignore me? That's cool. Can I see them pretty eyes Gabriel? Yeah... There we go champ." he cooed gasping a bit seeing his eyes slowly open making him smile. He rocked him gently til he bursted into a fit of screams. "Aww. I'd scream if I had people gawking at my good looks too and getting the stare of death from mommy." he teased sucking up the fresh tears from falling. Jay looked up seeing all eyes on him as he had his moment with his son before handing the baby to James. "So is his name being to be Gabriel?[/b]" the nurse questioned.
Jay glanced at his dad and smiled. "You heard right ma'am. Gabriel Reese Acosta Prince." he replied giving off the entire spelling. "[i]He's joking. Your joking right. I'm already emotional. Don't play with me boy!" he chuckled hearing his dad's commentary as he made his way over to the opposite side waiting a hug. He patted his back hugging him for the longest feeling the wetness sink through the scrubs a bit. "Not a joke nor was it my idea. You can thank mama James over there. Now stop your ugly tears. It's embarrassing." he smirked leaving to change out the scrubs and returning seeing that they pulled up a chair next to the bed.
He tossed his body into it curling up in it immediately. "Team work make the dream work." he brought his hand up for a hand five and smirked. It was a long ass night but everything turned out beautifully as emotional as it was. He was proud of his new title no matter how nervous he was over it now that the pregnancy was over and done with.

She smiled, watching Jayden cutting the umbilical cord. This was actually happening. She was a new mother, he was a new father to a beautiful baby boy. Her body was tired but she was happy. Happy that she has everything that she ever wanted. Even at a young age, she was happy. Or so she thought.
She felt his lips against hers quickly, looking up at him. She smiled, blinking her tears away. She watched Jayden interact with their son. Her smile grew across her lips, watching the moment unfold. It was sweet. She smiled, seeing her mother come towards her with tears in her eyes
. "You did beautifully sweetheart." Her eyes flitted, feeling her lips against her forehead. She chuckled softly, hearing Jayden's comment. She wanted him to have his moment with their son. Their son. It was still crazy that this little bundle of joy was theirs to cherish and protect until their last breath.
The tears started to flow as Jayden placed Gabriel in her arms. "Hey baby boy." He gazed up at her, smiling as she felt his tiny fingers gripping onto her pinky. She chuckled softly, hearing Gabriel and Jay's small convo. "It's true, he's named after his grandfather." She looked over at him, giving him a smile. "He's so beautiful," her mother spoke next to her. James leaned down, pressing her lips against his forehead.
She laughed lightly at Jayden, giving him a high five. "We did it babe." She smiled, before letting the grandparents have their moments with their first grand baby. She needed rest as she laid there in her hospital bed. She was scared shitless, but she was ready to be the best mother to her son.
