The room was completely silent leaving him to his thoughts. He stayed on one side of the house while she stayed on the other enjoying her damn nutella. He was falling through the cracks and was on the verge of exploding. His dad seemed to cool down as much as he knew his ear was always available, he needed a different opinion. He valued most opinions depending on who he was talking to.
Given the situation, Devin was the best person to vent his ass off too. With that being said, he quickly slide on some nikes making a quick exit. The coolness of the air hit his face and he brought up his hood covering his head taking the walk from his new awkward residence to hers. Quite frankly, it was the only pro he saw at this point with living in a beach house now. He stuffed his hands in his pockets making it up to her driveway.
He blew out air bringing his hand out to knock softly on the door. He grew impatient having to stand there and knocked again. Jayden gave a faint fake smile seeing her and stepped inside kind of glad to see another face other than well her. "I couldn't wait. Sorry." He stuttered in a whisper. Jayden closed the door behind him locking it in place and leaned against it.

I don't wanna sleep.
Devin shook her head, looking at her baby girl. "You have to Maxxie. You need sleep. I promise you, you won't miss anything." She chuckled softly, watching her lil' one pout. "Don't pull the face, sleep." She huffed. "Fine.""Hug and kiss." Maxxie wrapped her arms around, giving her a hug and then a kiss. "I love you.""Love you." Devin pulled away from her bed, watching her climb under her covers and grab her favorite stuffed animal. She shook her head, watching Rocky make his way into the room and climb onto her bed and laid down. She pulled herself out of the room, leaving the door slightly open. The house was finally quiet, and now she had a break from it all. She made her way to the kitchen, to grab herself a beer and found herself plopping down on the couch. Turning the TV on, she kept it low, going through the channels.
She brought the bottle to her lips, taking a drink. She looked up, hearing a knock on the door. She groaned a bit, getting up from the couch and heading for the door. She rolled her eyes, hearing another knock again as she took another swig from her bottle. Who could it be anyways? She unlocked the door, opening it to see Jayden. "Hey.." She smiled slightly, moving out of the way and let him in. She wasn't expecting him to come at all. At least until the next day. She shook her head. "It's fine, c'mon." She turned away, making her way back into the opened up living room. "Want something to drink?" He didn't look like his normal self. She was a bit worried to what he had to talk about.

Jayden was glad that she didn't make a big fuss over his unexpected visit. She knew he was expecting him for tomorrow but he needed to get away even just for a little while. He slowly pushed himself off the door brushing his hood off of his head. She had offered a drink and he could strongly use some alcohol in his system. The only downfall was that it wasn't going to settle shit and he knew it.
He turned his lip and shook his head letting her know that he passed on her offer. "If I did that then I would be hovered over your toilet forcing myself to throw up." He shook his head. He sat on the couch unsure of how to start off this conversation. In fact, he didn't want to talk about it so soon. He leaned back against the pillows of the couch resting one foot on the edge of the coffee table.
"I'm so fucking over everything. Never thought I of all people would consider themselves depressed or extremely stressed. I don't even fucking know." His hands ran down his face. On second thought he needed a damn drink right about now. "I'll take a drink after all. My nerves are too damn shot these days." He started off. His tongue swiped across and he smiled at the pictures of Maxxie and Devin scattered around that caught his eye. "Aw, I should've came early to see my boo. How y'all been?" Jayden wanted to hold out on a crying session for as long as possible so stalling was perfect.

She walked over to the couch, hearing that he didn't want anything to drink. She sighed, sitting down. Something was definitely eating him up. It was written all over his face. She didn't like seeing him this way. Whenever he was around, he always had a smile on his face or something smart to say, and right now, she wasn't getting any of that. She took a drink from her bottle again, listening to him.
She frowned, trying to figure out what was going on with him. Maybe him and his dad got into it, or him and his girlfriend wasn't working out. Whatever it was, she was there and she will listen. She didn't care how long it took him. “All right,” she pulled herself off the couch again, making her way into the kitchen. Her hand grabbed the handle to the fridge and grabbed two bottles. Placing them on the counter, she pulled her hair up and twisted the tie she had around her wrist, making a messy bun. She grabbed the bottles, walking back out, hearing him ask about her and Maxxie.
“If you came, a few minutes earlier, you could have saw her. She didn't want to sleep.” She smiled, handing him a bottle. “Here,” she took her seat again, placing the other bottle down before grabbing her unfinished one and sitting indian style. “But we're good. She graduated from kindergarden.” She smiled, nodding. “She thinks she's a big girl now.” She snickered, running her tongue over her bottom lip. She looked over at him, resting the bottle between her legs. “What about you? Everything all right?”

He poked out his lip nodding when she told him that he just missed his 'niece' Maxxie. He loved that little girl to pieces and knew that her innocence along with excitement could brighten up his night. He was fine with letting her sleep not wanting to bother her. "That's because she felt that I was coming. We bond like that." He smiled briefly. He looked up taking the bottle from her and hurriedly twisted the cap off.
"Thanks." He brought the bottle to his lips drowning most of it. His eyes closed shut and letting it slide down his throat getting into his system. He placed the cap back on hearing her mention of Maxxie's big day. Soon enough that'll be him talking about his child's graduation from kindergarden. The thought alone freaked him out making him groan placing the bottle on the table.
Jayden had no idea where he should start. There was so much going on and none of them even had a good part to it. "Well for starters, my grandpa is here for a few days. I went back home and I ended up flying back with him." He wanted it to start off on a lighter note. His grandfather was seriously enjoying himself thinking he was Noah from the notebook wanting to frolick on the beach and dance in the streets. Jayden was glad that his grandfather was having such a swell time in boring ass Ashwick.
"I don't know how he could consider this place fun but he's having a freaking blast going to the beach every day." He chuckled lightly. His palms started to get sweaty and he rubbed them on his jeans. Jayden held a staring competition with the ground knowing he shouldn't keep everything bottled up. "Not at all Devin. Everything is a mess. Where the hell should I start? Oh right. James is two months pregnant that entire fucking day was a mess. Everything went from happy as a fucking clam on my end to now I really just don't care to be around her." He sighed. He kept rubbing his hands on his jeans until he rested back on the back couch looking up at the ceiling. "I'm not excited though I always told my dad I wanted to be a young dad. Possibly the stupidest thing I ever told him. With all the shit that happened, I honestly don't give a fuck anymore." He shrugged bringing his eyes back to her.

She smiled a bit. “That's probably why, but she'll see you next time. She's out like a light for the rest of the night. I love it.” She chuckled a bit, happy to have her peace and quiet throughout the house. She licked her lips, taking another drink of her beer getting closer to the suds.
She listened to him talk about his grandfather, enjoying his time here in this dead place. It was crazy how some people could find excitement in the most random places. She smiled, turning her body in his direction. She wanted him to know that he had her attention. “Well at least, he's enjoying himself.” She finished what was left of her beer, placing the empty bottle down and going for another one. This was her time to chill and drink a bit before she would call it a night.
Her eyes widened when she heard the word pregnant. So he was going to be a father, and it was getting to him. Listening to him, him not wanting to be close to his baby mother. She understood where he was coming. She was around his age when she had Maxxie. It was tough when she found out about her pregnancy. She wasn't ready, she was scared and just wanted to be left alone, but that little girl became a blessing to her, especially in her position now after with what happened to her father. She bit down on her lip, her eyes connecting with his. Her hand pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, trying to figure out where to start.
“Jay, babe, I'm sorry...” She muttered softly. She really didn't feel like a congratulations was in order since he didn't seem happy about it all. She looked away before looking back at him. “How does she feel about all of this? Try talking to her or like you said not caring to be around her.” She wasn't gonna sit here and judge him because it would make her a hypocrite. She was gonna help him as much as she could.

Jayden saw her eyes widened and remembered the pep talk he was given. She knew that she wanted the best for him and that he should keep it safe. He didn't know why she was apologizing but what else was she suppose to say. "Ha, surprised you're not mad." He commented.
She questioned him on how his girlfriend was feeling and he rolled his eyes. James was calm and in her own fucking world with her indulges. He knew that she had to be hurt as well and if she wasn't then there was something seriously wrong with her. "She was calm and I tried to reassure her that everything would be okay but I think it was more so for myself. I on the other hand lost it and cried when she told me." He sighed. He sat up snatching up his drink again taking the cap off for a sip.
"Her mother had that whole mother instinct thing. Her father on the other hand hates me. He doesn't feel i'm good enough for her. In fact on the day I met them, I was mad at her because she was demanding about meeting them as if I had no other plans. Her father asked what did I want from her. That shit...it pissed me off so bad." He took another swig lowering his eyes and shaking his head. He wasn't sure where his relationship stood at this point. He didn't like that she wasn't worried or didn't even seem worried. "No because if I talk to her then it'll probably lead to arguing and you know I hate getting into arguments especially over pointless shit." Jayden sucked his teeth.
He raked his threw his hair and fall over resting his head on the seat of the couch.
He could feel himself getting upset when the events replayed in his head. "He disowned her saying that she wasn't his daughter. He slapped her to the ground and I ended up punching him the face which lead to a physical altercation until my dad pulled me off. He asked her how could she be with somebody like that as if I was nothing. I moved in with her to her little beach house but I want to go back home to my dad and act like none of this is fucking happening. Hell, I want to go back to Canada but as much as she claims she won't stop me, she would. I couldn't even take a damn shower alone without her picking the damn lock and coming in." He grunted. Jayden needed his space and he needed badly. "I had been ignoring her ever since. I have nothing to say to her. She's starting to get... clingy it seems. I love her and I know I'm at fault for what's happening but I can't grasp it. I'm not ready for this and ugh...I'm really emotionless Dev. I'm really frustrated and i have no idea how to handle this." He blinked a few times wiping the few tears that managed to fall.

Devin shook her head. “Why would I be mad? Shit happens.” Sometimes things happen for a reason or maybe not for the best of ones. It was something that he would have to get over and just take up the responsibilities that were gonna come in his way in the next seven months. She was listening to everything he was saying. To him, trying to believe that everything was going to be okay until he broke down when she told him and on to her mother knowing about it before they even had a chance to say and then to her father not liking him for being with her and whatever else that happened between him and her family. She couldn't help but laugh. Not at him, but the situation that he went through with her parents. It was almost like deja vu for her, listening to him. She shook her head, sighing softly.
“God, this all sounds familiar.” She looked down before glancing back at him. “Lucas had the same problem with my father with just my family in general. But y'know it never stopped him from loving me. And it shouldn't stop from loving her.” She shrugged. “If you want to be with her, then be with her because she's the one you want to be with. Don't listen to the bullshit.” She stated. She didn't know what their relationship was like, but from the sounds of it, it was different from what she had. This story he was telling her about her father, definitely like Devin hearing about her past. Her father disowned her too, strike her to the ground and it was nothing said after that, but the next part surprised her. He fought her father because of what he did. The guy in front of her definitely had fight in him. She never doubted that.
Bringing her bottle back to her lips, she took a long sip. Her eyes stayed on him, frowning a bit. This was all getting to him badly. Everything was happening so fast for him, and he couldn't stop it. He didn't know what to do. She watched as he wiped his face. She knew that he was wiping away tears. She never saw this side of him and hurt her a little.
“Jay...” She stopped for a moment, her hand reaching over and resting on top of his. “It's not just your fault babe. Some of this falls on her too. I know how hard this is. Yeah, it's not gonna be easy, we know that. You're old enough to understand the consequences and know what you want to do. It's either you stand up and take on those responsibilities or you walk away from it, but I know you. I know you'll make the right choice. The choice that is right for you. You just have to take your time. If you think you need a break from it all then take a break. Clear your mind before jumping yourself back into this fuckin' mess.” She wanted him to have the best. He meant a lot to her, and she just wanted him to be happy. Grabbing his hand, she laced her fingers with his, rubbing her thumb across his knuckles. “If you want this to work with her, then you do what you have to do to make it work, but if not, then let go...”

He wasn't sure what he expected to hear but this wasn't it. Jayden felt her rest her hand on top of his. He listened to her speak and attempt at advising him. It wasn't working out as he wanted but he loved her too much to drop everything. He didn't want to be one of those guys that backed out of his reponsibilities.
His father could've gave up on him but he didn't. Jayden knew that this was simply a rough patch. God was testing their love and that's why the were put in this position. He didn't want either of them to be in the relationship if they were unhappy. He licked his lips trying to figure out what he would even say to James if given the opportunity.
Jayden was temperamental even if he didn't want to admit it. It was finally catching up to him and James was finally seeing this side of him. He didn't like when his mood varied but it did and that's what made him human. His hand ran down his mouth and he thought long and hard on what he wanted to do.
"I'll talk to her... I guess. I already know I will still be annoyed so I'll keep my distance. I'm an only child so needy people isn't something I'm used to. Fuck. There is mood swings huh? Yeah don't have much patience for all of that either." he chuckled. Jayden wasn't about to let his girlfriend run him down the ground with any crying, bitching or hungry man food orders. "I think we'll be okay. It's just happening really really early. Kind of sad that we haven't even been together that long and we're already expecting a child." he looked up at her. This was all just his nerves getting the best of him. He got up running his hands through his hair messing it up.
"Devin... I'm going to be somebody's daddy. That's weird and I don't even know if I'll be any good. I mean I love kids but this is life that I helped create with my penis. It'll look like me and hopefully not act like me cause I was hyper as hell as a kid. " his lips vibrated together and he slowly formed a smile. Reality is hitting and he needed to get over it. "I'll do the right thing. My mom didn't but I will." Jayden spoke softly promising himself more then anybody. If moving to Canada was going to happen then James would go with. He wasn't going to leave his father behind or forget his own personal dreams. "As much as I don't want to admit it, there is some excitement. It's just...unexplainable." he shrugged lightly.

She knew Jayden was a smart boy. So she really didn't have to tell him anything. It was quite obvious what was gonna happen. There was nothing wrong with being scared, everybody's scared when this moment comes. She watched him, hearing him talk. She smiled a bit, running her fingers over the back of her neck. "Mood swings are a bitch. Just brace yourself and don't be an asshole." She laughed a bit, sighing softly.
Yeah, they were young, but like he said, they were gonna be okay. Just keep having a little faith and it would go smoothly. She looked up, hearing her name. Smiling, hearing him say he was going to be a daddy. Never thought, he would be one so soon, but she was happy for him. He was going to be a good dad. Even if he didn't want to believe it, he was going to do just fine. Her smile got bigger, seeing him smile. She was happy that he was admitting to all of this. Hopefully, from now on things would be good for him and his girlfriend.
"Of course, there's excitement. It's your firstborn." Smiling, her fingers going through her hair. "You know what you gotta do babe. Work it out, and everything's good again." She shrugged, resting her hands in her lap. She turned her head away, looking at the steps, hearing Rocky coming down the steps. She smiled, seeing her curly head coming down as well. "Hey baby." She smiled, watching her rubbing her eyes with her stuffed bear in her other hand. "You okay?" She nodded before looking up as she came into the living room.
She chuckled softly, watching Maxxie's eyes light up when she saw one of her favorite people. "Uncle Jay!" She ran over to him, her arms wrapping around his legs. She was happy that Maxxie still had a male figure in her life. Even though, he wasn't there all time, she still had him. "At least you get to see her before you go." She ran her fingers over her unruly curls.

Jayden knew he was excited. It was still fuzzy but this was real life. His face began to warm up at the thought and he had no idea why he was even blushing. He was content for the time being and outside opinions didn't matter to him. He looked up seeing her dog trailing along side Maxxie.
He knew he couldn't be an asshole to James. This was just hormones and the pregnancy making her feel any certain way so he had to really brace himself. He lazily looked at Maxxie shout his name in excitement and as usual, she wrapped herself around his leg. Jayden leaned fourth pulling her up onto his lap. He gave her a gentle squeeze and kissed her all over her face.
He drew back and smiled. "Hi best friend. Shouldn't you be sleep? he arched his brow upward. Jayden knew he could be more social with the two of them. He hasn't seen them since April. "I missed you. I heard you graduated from kindergarden. Do I owe you a gift...Will 20 bucks do?" Jayden questioned. His free hand rested on the little girls back and he pulled out his wallet retreiving the Twenty.
He handed it over to Devin for safe keeping. "Mommy will hold it for you and she won't spend it. We'll put her in time out if she does. he looked at the girl cupping her face in his hands. Jayden leaned fourth petting Rocky and smirked. "Let's go kid. We have to get you back to bed." He picked her up as he stood up placing her on his shoulders making his way towards the staircase. He whistled for Rocky and made the walk upstairs.
"How do you fall asleep boo? Bed time story...Song... Cuddle up with Mommy. I'm better than Mommy but we can't let her know that. It's our secret." he placed her on her bed tucking her in and kneeling next to her. Shortly he fulfilled her request and raced back downstairs snatching his keys from the table. "Okay Dev, I'm going to get out of here while I still have the energy to safely get home. Thanks for the advice." Jayden smiled. He now stood inches away from her with his arms open wide for an embrace. He greatly appreciated her support on this and the fact he got to vent to her so late into the night. "Get some sleep. Love you." he kissed her forehead and moved passed her exiting her home yawning once he made it in his vehicle putting on his headlights.

"I was, but Rocky woke me up." Her green, doe eyes stared up at him. Devin smiled, watching the two of them interacting and laughing softly as the curls bounced excitedly on her daughter's head, happy that she graduated kindergarden.
"Really?" Her eyes grew big on that thought of getting her own money. "Mommy won't spend it. Right mommy?" Her eyes turned to Devin, making her nod in return. "Right baby, it's all yours." She threw her a wink, placing the money on the table. She would put it up later until the next time they decided to go out.
She sighed, watching Jayden take care of Maxxie, placing her on his shoulders, and Rocky follow right behind them. "I like a song, but, you don't have to. I'm okay." She smiled, hearing her voice as they made their way up the steps. She looked down,feeling fur coming across her foot. She smiled, staring down at Draco, her pit pup. "Hey baby." She yawned, running her fingers over her hair before getting up from the couch. She grabbed the bottle of beers, walking into the kitchen. She poured what was left out before placing the bottles to the side. She would toss them out in the recycling bins in the morning.
She came out into the living room, finding him coming back down the steps. "No problem babe. Text me or whatever that you got home. Yeah?" She walked into his arms, wrapping hers around him. She sighed, giving him a bit of a squeeze. "And you too, I guess I can say congrats now." She smiled, feeling his lips against her forehead. "Love you too. Be safe." She walked behind him, letting himself out of her house. She locked up after him and pulled herself away with Draco at her side before making her way to her bedroom to get some sleep.
