Karen’s eyes fluttered open, momentarily closing them when the sunshine hit her face. She should have closed them before she went to sleep but last night had mostly been spent making up for the few nights that she had been away. Looking down at McGee who was fast asleep on the floor next to her, she rolled over to look at Andy who was still fast asleep. She hated being away from him, she was starting to get more and more work that meant she had to spend a few days away from him. She wasn’t sure if it was on purpose because it kept Andy and her separated at work or if that’s what happened. At least she was able to ring him and be able to claim it was something to do with work when she just missed talking to him. But it also made things harder, last time she had been on the job and ended up in a fight, thought fight is an understand for what happened. She spent most of that night crying, some of the jobs just got to her but she knew it had been down to mental exhaustion. She had needed to be on the top of her game the whole time, she felt like she was constantly watching her back and even when taking a shower she had become paranoid that someone was in the room. She didn’t let cases get to her but it was the first time she understood why they didn’t frown on agents being together like they did in the FBI. Andy knew what was going on; she could rant it all out to him and it wouldn’t make a difference.

Rather than cooking a meal last night, Karen had just brought around some pizza, knowing beers would be in the fridge already and they spent most of the night watching movies. Or watching the first 20 or so minutes, but what was expected from a couple who had just gotten together and hadn’t seen each other for a few days. At times it still felt like they were at the experiment stage, that Andy was bookmarking every reaction she had to a kiss or a touch. Though Karen was able to see each reaction, it was still a learning process and previous to Andy it had been a while since she had on a relationship. Everything felt like a learning curve, they agreed to keep their personal relationship at home and keep professional at work but she couldn’t help herself at times and dragged him into the toilets for a long kiss at least once a day.

Running her hand through his hair, Karen leaned down and pressed a quick kiss against Andy’s lips, trying to pull him around from the sleep that had hold of him. Luckily it was the weekend and they didn’t have to think about work, unless they got called in which happened more weekends than she liked to think about. Watching his eyes start to open, her smile grew before kissing him quickly again, not really giving him time to enjoy it.
“Good morning.” She whispered softly, keeping her hand in his hair, as she waited for him to fully come around from being asleep. They didn’t have anything planned today, or at least nothing that she knew about and she couldn’t think of anything better than spending most of the day in bed, only getting up if and when they really needed to.
