whether it's leaving or coming back from a mission, this where all landing parties will be at one point or another. the transporter platform has six pads, that simultaneously beam a person (or group) from one place, to another. occasionally, from multiple.

not as bad as it sounds! these are where the large, cozy rooms for the ship's counselor's are held - filled with couches, cushions, even a bio-bed or two to observe sleeping patterns that could reveal something important. no matter what time, day or night, there is always at least one on-duty.
