Moses Lake, Washington -- 10/03/2010

Styx is performing in Moses Lake's McCosh Park on October 10th as a
"thank you" from REC Silicon for supporting their arrival in Moses Lake
and Grant County. The concert is FREE.

A free concert featuring rock band Styx kick off a two
day event celebrating REC Silicon's grand opening.

The concert will be held at the Centennial Amphitheatre located at 401
West Fourth Avenue on Sunday, October 10th, 2010 starting at 2:00 p.m.

"We wanted to do an event where we could gather as many people in
the park as possible. We're hoping the local community will enjoy Styx.

We picked them because they have a lot of appeal to different people,"
said Anne Ekern, Director of Communications for REC Silicon.

Known for their pop-rock and power-ballad signature sound, Chicago-based
Styx started in the 1970s. At the height of their career, Styx sold out venues
all across the United States in the 1980s and on subsequent reunion tours in
the late 1990s.

Several chart-topping hits like "Lady," "Come Sail Away," "Domo Arigato,
Mr. Roboto" and "Grand Illusion" propelled the group into an internationally
successful band. Styx quickly became an award-winning group. Through a
few solo projects and a brief disbandment in 1995, Styx is currently outfitted
by six members.

The group's visit to Moses Lake is part of a two month tour that features the
band playing their 1977 album "The Grand Illusion" and 1978 album "Pieces
of Eight" in their entirety. This will be the first time the band has played two
full albums on tour.

"This concert is kind of a big deal," said Moses Lake Mayor Jon Lane.
"REC Silicon has been a great community contributor, they are always
giving back to the community. It was nice of them go out on a limb and
invite the band out here."

On the following day, Monday, Oct. 11, Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash.,
will be conducting the formal ribbon cutting ceremony for the corporation.

The ribbon cutting event is by invitation only.
About 200 people have been invited, said Ekern.

In the morning, the corporation will be offering plant tours for invited guests.
The two-day celebration culminates a four year long project for REC Silicon.

"We wanted to do this grand opening because we want to show Moses Lake
our appreciation. We want to express our appreciation for all the contribution
we get from the people of Moses Lake," said Ekern.

REC Silicon is a company focused on manufacturing solar and electronic
grade silicon and silane gas. The produced materials are used in technologies
to create solar panels, computers, MP3 players, flat screen TVs and hybrid
electric vehicles.

The corporation employs about 500 people from
the Moses Lake area, according to Ekern.

"These are big investments for our company. We want to celebrate the
fact that we're done with these projects," said Sharon Palmerton, REC
Silicon's marketing communications manager.

The corporation currently occupies 496 acres in Moses Lake.
