I’ve got a few things to announce in this post so I’m going to do it in list form again.

1. There is now a cap on female characters! I thought about it and decided it would be a good idea to put a temporary cap in place on female characters. Just until the cast list has a equal number. As I’m sure you all know, it can be pretty easy for an RPG to get overrun with female characters and while we’ve been pretty good, I do want to make sure that that doesn’t happen. This will be enforced for new, incoming players and players who already have female characters. There will be an exception made for current players who are only playing male characters. They will be allowed to apply for one female character during the cap and will be the only female characters allowed into the game.

2. Ask permission before using your powers on another character! I’ve had a couple of complaints about players using their powers on someone else’s character without asking their permission prior to doing so. Because of this, I am adding a new rule which is: ask permission before using your powers on another character. This isn’t a big problem as from what I’ve read on the cbox in the past, most people do this anyway but I just want to make it official so that everyone knows.

3: Read the announcement section! This is just a reminder because I’m after getting the distinct impression that some players are not reading the announcement section on the board. As I say in the description for this section:

If you’re going to read any part of the board, announcements and the rules are the most important sections. Now, how will you know if there’s a new post in the announcement section? There are a few ways to tell and they are:

1) This button will be next to the section. When you see this button that means there is a new post and/or a new reply.

2) It will show up in the Gene Unit Latest news line at the very top of the first forum section. If the post is really important I will even add a large print link underneath the Wilson’s welcome banner. As seen here(link), circled in red.

3) There will also be a notice & link posted in the News section on the sidebar, as seen here(link) outlined in red.

4) I also usually post a notice in the cbox as well, putting the link in my name so when you see such a notice like- Clara: “Hey I posted in the announcements, please check it out”, just click on my name and you will be immediately brought to the post I’m talking about.

If anyone has any suggestions on how I could make the announcements more noticeable, please let me know.
