Sadly I remember this show. Though I recall a sightly different music for the intro. I can't recall much (A good thing??) but I do remember it being silly, and not in a good way. However I got up each morning to watch it, well that and the rest of the morning's cartoons.

It only ever had the one intro.....are you sure you aren't thinking of Heckle and Jeckle and Qauckula, a series that is best forgotten it was pretty terrible

Count Duckula = one of the best cartoons of all! I have the second series on DVD, but really want the first. The second series seemed at times that they were running out of ideas... Not quite the impact of the original.

The first series I remember as a child finding 'No Sax Please', etc. so funny. :D

The first season was the best but even season 3 and 4 were still pretty good for the most part.

Further evidence supporting my theory that a band of 80's directors and producers and things found all the leftover LSD from the 60's and used it as "inspiration" when they made things like this and Ghostbusters and House etc...

But that's what makes the 80's awesome

There was a series 4?? o_0

It's really sad that no one makes cartoons like this in the UK anymore. Government, or whoever just really don't give a damn about [funding, etc.] animation here.

Replace "but" with "and".

Season 4 was really short....it was like 6 or 7 episodes or something.

Also it's sad no one at all makes cartoons like this anymore, the entire animation industry has gone down the toilet.

Yeah, not the best time to be breaking into the animation industry. >_< Here's hoping things pick up again soon so I might find some job!

Has anyone seen the episode in series two with the two posh university characters? They were very amusing - like they'd come right out of Oxford, Cambridge or some posh London uni. XD

Just read this on Wikipedia  :

Currently, Aardman are partnered with Cosgrove Hall Films to produce a feature film version of the popular animated series Count Duckula to be distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Wow! Aardman + Cosgrove Hall. Should hopefully be good!

If you find out more about it, let us know!

Thank goodness they wouldn't consider making it CGI, so it won't ruin my childhood. Even if the film is crap (as they often seem because it is hard to compete with the nostalgic mind) it doesn't matter - I'll just forget it.

I hope they don't overdo the animation so it doesn't have the same feel and make it look too bright and Flash-y. Respect the likely age group who'll be interested in this! :D

Not too keen on it getting annoying younger generation fanbase who will never quite understand it and possibly will tackify it up with crap fanart, etc., but that may just be me!

I'd getting the feeling it might be going to be claymation......I could be wrong but given the studio I getting that impression, I honestly don't think that would work. Also they'd need a good person to replace Igor since the voice actor passed away in the late 90's.
