I'm thinking we should just do our own version of S3...with some concepts from one of my fanfixes XD . (Like Bully's design).

And as a tip, be easy on the emotions. I've had to rat on my boyfriend a lot for that. I'd suggest using five, but not bunched together.

We have talked about it in the past and nothing happened. We were going to do an audio book of The Adventure Begins, but I don't know what happened to that.

And I had a nice nasally voice for one of the stoats too <_<

I think this was attempted a few times on the forum to make another series however it already fell through. I think if there was to be another series. that they should do "The Adventure Begins". In other words, the book before the actual journey to White Deer Park. But thats just a thought ^_^.

And emotions are awesome!!

The only reason I wouldn't want the Beeb to pick it up again personally is that they'd probably do everything computer animated now for cheapness and they'd have to get new voice actors. I like reading fanfic though and the audio book was a good idea.

Not only that, but if WE did it, it would take a horribly, stinkin' long time with all our photoshopy-or whatever animations. Waay too long. And we'd forget about it in time.

Very true, especially with working/education/life etc. It's a shame really. Sometimes I think that these shows are best remembered as they were and fan stuff is good. Shame about the audio book though.

There's no way people here can make a new series, it's been tried and it failed. No one really has the time/talent to do it.

The BBC won't make another series either.

Got to add another knock, I'm afraid:

There is no chance of the BBC making another series for numerous reasons.

I like your want to do this, but it'd be an awful lot of work and very difficult to get anywhere! :)

3D CGI AoFW would certainly be an interesting concept and while I'm sure Fox, Badger and the others would look more beautiful than ever, and even if it was made to sort of look like Series 1 and 2 in a way, I'm sure it wouldn't work.

Even if the darkness of Series 1 and 2 (and bits of S3) were kept, I just can't see it being the same as it should. I can't see the same love being given to the programme that Valerie Georgeson, the animators and team from the early 90s gave to the programme.

And I can certainly imagine new voice actors being used. That would piss me off big time. The team from the original programme did an amazing job and while I'm sure the replacements would be capable of good acting skills, I just can't see it working right for us who love the series. I'm sure the new audience would love it though but nah, leave it the same or any form of remake, new series etc, should be exactly like S1 and 2.

Or better yet, release the damn DVD in England lol.

Yep. Ruined voices. I HATE that with the second Ferngully. Hate it, hate it, HATE IT!!! Even the music and songs were just WEIRD!
(However...it would be something if there was something like an Alan Rickman voice for Sinuous...that would be interesting...)

But for a DVD, I'd like to see Bonus material...with cut scenes! I love cut scenes X3 . I don't know why.

I seriously hate any old cartoons remade into CGI version. I can't think of a single good conversion, they are all equally horrible. Leave the CGI to the people who know what they are doing and use it to make new productions.

Indeed, focus should be more on releasing dvd's of old shows that never have been released before. Or maybe only on a gew VHS types 20 years ago. And also, I hope that traditional animation is not going to die out. That would be a real shame.

Fuuuuuuuck.

I'll be avoiding that one then.

They should leave Farthing Wood alone. The only way a new series wouldn't be a dissapointment is if a few of us were in charge.

It's not liek with the other films where they are directly copying the known characters and concept nad turning them CG - seems, from the two lines I acually read, that it will just be a new movie, unrelated and only linked to Bluth by the title and some content.

The same parallels will be made between the two whether the source text is another film or just the story.

If they made a trendy new CGI Jungle book film people would make connections between it and the Disney film as much as Kipling's novel. If not moreso. The same applies here, when you mention NIMH the average person is more likely to think of the film than the Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH novel. Which means it may as well be a remake in all but what the "adaptation of [...]" on the film's poster says. People will make the connection as much as if it were a direct adaptation. And to me that still makes it taint Bluth's film, albeit by a slightly less "direct" route.

So to be frank, it still annoys me just as much.

A lot of people aren't even aware of the Bluth film. I wasn't up to a few years ago and it's not like I didn't read into Animation prior. Probably less so the book, you're right. (Must find it out... worth it, anyone?)

It may well (probably) not be so good, but I'm not that big a fan of the animated feature either, so at least my preferences won't be corrupted so much. XD

If they can concentrate more on the most interesting part of the whole NIMH rat situation, that would be good.
