I saw this episode this morning and i thought it was really good, perhaps the best of series 3 so far (or 2nd best to episode 1). I liked the way that the episode carried on from the last one effectively, as after fox and co attacked the rat hq in monday's episode 'Adventure for the birds' and you could see in that episode how adder knew that she could help when fox spoke about how that the rats are born and grow so quickly in their nests but they were unable to help, but Adder could do something about it.
I liked the way that it was carried on today (tuesday) with Adder and Sinuous entering Bully's nest and trying to get him. The emotion was well done with Plucky's return to meet Dash and the scene final scene where Adder is pinned down by the five rats and kills the huge one was pretty cool, especially as it shows that Bully isn't heartless and can get upset when his friends die, and the scene nicely parallels what will happen at the end of the next episode. The only weak point was the piglet scenes but you can't blame the show for putting in a bit of humour for the kids to enjoy. |

They sould have Killed him while they had a chance!! :furious: I'm sure that I'm as sad about what he did to Sinuous as Adder and I'd get revenge on him. :sniff: :sniff: :sniff: |

I just watched this episode (again ^_^) a few days ago. Nice to see it again as I do think it is the best episode of series 3. The animation is normal, no dodgy looking rat battles either and Sinuous gets some character development - well what they could manage in one episode  ). The problem that this episode has is the irritating weasels and piglet storyline. Nice to see the motorway in there and the cars finally travel on the proper side of the road but the stupid "I'll never be sausages bit" is unecessary for something like AoFW but we have to put up with it I guess.
What seemed strange is that when Sinuous smacks away the bucket that Bully hides under, Sinuous' body seems far longer than it should be. Other than that the episode is one of Series 3's better ones and seeing Adder finally bite a rat rather than swallow it whole is excellent as it's much mroe normal. 9/10 for sure. |

Really? I've never liked that bit. I'd have much rather seen her and Sinuous biting the rats in the neck like in real life. Well in the next episode Sinuous does say they've been "Biting rats in the neck all week." so it does happen but we don't see it, which is a shame. At least the end bit of this episode has Adder biting that Nat in the arm to kill him rather than the lame swallowing whole business. Oh and Dreamer, Adder doesn't swallow any rats whole in this ep, it's in others she does. |

*topic revival*
I think there are some okay scenes in this episode. The snakes are obviously the best. However, get that pig out of here :dead: !!! I did think the Pig-Weasel scene was cute; it reminded me of that scene in Shrek 2. I also laughed when the piglet snorted in Weasel's face. Those were the only piglet scenes I liked. The return of Plucky was really sweet. I liked Dash's line about Hurkel "He's just soppy". I think that we should see more of the snakes (figure out a shorter weasel story, like just the twins upset about Rollo and get rid of the dang piglet). I also think that Sinuous should have saved Adder instead of Plucky. Sinuous would be a lot more threatening to the rats than Plucky was. He'd come right up just before that one rat is about to bite Adder, and threatens to kill Bully if they kill his mate. If Plucky did save her, we could have at least have Adder and Sinuous having a more proper reunion, not like Dash and Plucky, but at least we could see some love between them, which we never really see. My favorite part of this episode is probobly when Adder and Sinuous are voting over who should lead the attack. I think it was kind of dumb for Sinuous to be telling the rat what they're going to do and asking him who should lead the attack. But I did like Sinuous' line when the rat picks Adder. "Rats!" True but that scene was probably one of the closest to the book throughout the whole series and in the book, Plucky is by far more dangerous than any snake as he does dig almost into the whole earth where the rats are before Bully makes there 'agreement', which he instantly goes back on later that night. |

*revival* (Is watching it right now) Not only longer, but WAY smaller too! Look at that battery and key he's next to! If I could get the screenshot, I'd show you. That's a thread snake size! Then there's the muzzle length where there's a goof...but I don't call it that since I make that mistake I gazillion times when I draw them. Did you notice Adder and Sinuous blink AT THE SAME TIME when Bully goes under the cup? I found that amusing, I don't know why. I still think that after Sinuous gets away from the rats there should have been some love between him and Adder. It could end with them nuzzling or whatever they'd do for romantic contact, rather than just ending with "Did I miss anything" and that being all. |

I agree. I guess snakes just don't publicly show their feelings in the same way that the likes of Bold/Whisper, Fox/Vixen, Ranger/Charmer, etc did.
PS BatSnake, what's the time in America rite now? |

The time? 6:18 PM, why do you ask?
And you're right about that, but there are times when they were alone and there still wasn't much affection. I wonder if the bit where they were voting could be considered flirting or something...don't know what part of that would count though :/ |

*double post and revival* You know, I was thinking about this episode and I'm thinking that it could have been even better. I can't help but notice what the title is, and yet, once again, most of the episode is spent on the *Ga'Hoole speak coming up* frinking WEASELS...and the owls. But it really could have been "Adder's episode" and we get to really look in on her relationship with Sinuous. From the beginning, it seems like they have little fights about who's dominant (sounded wrong XD ).
Come to think of it, the episode ended a little too quick. How the heck did Sinuous get out after being trapped underground; Plucky didn't seem to make much of a bargain with the rats when he saved Adder; AND WHY THE FRINKING SPRINK *lollololol Ga'Hoole speak* DID ADDER NOT DO SOMETHING WHEN SINUOUS ESCAPED!? She just...sat there. The rescue bit, along with the pig *shudder* was defiantly my least favorite part of the episode. The bit where Adder was trapped was pretty good until Plucky came in, but you'd think that after Adder called for Sinuous (and keep in mind that Adder bit Nat right after Brat said that Sinuous was underground), she'd show some sign of relief that he's okay. *more Ga'Hoole speak* Sprink on the weasels...and their little pig too T__T . Look at Bat-Snake swearing like an owl! This post has been edited by Bat-Snake on Aug 19 2009, 02:00 AM |

The pig gets on my nerves tbh. I also don't like that the Gremans changed the voice actor to a female.

That's very true. What's wierder is that at the start of the episode when you see the adders escape - well Adder escape with 4 rats following her with Sinuous heading in a different route, you get the impression that that's the moment where they are both captured but later on, Fox is talking to Toad about how the adders are going back later on, which is where the ending scene later follows on from.
The strange thing is that they have again escaped in different routes, just like earlier on. Now why would that happen? After a narrow escape before wouldn't they be more careful and work together again? In the book they both go down the hole with Adder 1st but when Adder smells the male rats, Adder tells Sinuous to escape who then gets Plucky to help out - who then makes a proper deal with Bully unlike in the series where it's simply a "let her go, I let him go" deal. You'd think the series would have followed that better. It's funny but I've never really thought about that until now - 5 years since originally watching the ep at 6am in my room at uni lol. |

^ Heh. I've thought about that when I was working on that bit for "The Adder's Tale". I had them escape separately, then meet up. However, the second time, Adder tells Sinuous to escape when the rats are about to attack. Sinuous does manage to escape, then he goes back in through another route to attack (When he explains this, it gives Plucky a spark of inspiration for the final attack.)
I also have Sinuous have a slight jealousy of Plucky for saving Adder, but he is also willing to find a way to thank him :) . Pffff, Shadow could have EASILY saved Adder herself, couldn't she XD ? Or how 'bout THIS! Cuts the series RIGHT in half, doesn't it...unless Bully pulls a survival out of his *fryingpanned*...or if there's some other silly, ridiculous plot twist. What a big badger with claws that could slice a rat in half. Um yes, Shadow could have helped lol. I do wonder why she didn't get involved. I guess she's frightened of 7 very average sized rats lol

Heheheheh. I guess the producers (I'm not gonna push all the blame on SW, since from his letter, he apparently did want a more mature S3, but he couldn't.) Needed SOME way for Plucky to go save Adder. And of course, in the book it was Sinuous who sent Plucky to save Adder. I still think it would have been neat for Sinuous to show up as Plucky was saving Adder and help in the rescue. It would have been interesting to see Plucky be all proud of himself and then notice that Adder's completely ignoring him :P .
