The admiral was now standing at the slightly ajar window, her icy blue eyes resting on the extravagant courtyard of her large mansion. Her husband told her she needed to get a breath of fresh air and opened the window despite his wife's protests. She traced a pale hand down the smooth glass of the window, reliving the incident with the pirates all over again. She could have sworn the bullets were tearing through her back and sending her through the window all over again.
Lady Bellamont paused as she noticed a bit of movement in one of her hedges. Probably just a rodent or something, she thought. Then again, she was paranoid because of her confrontation and quickly changed her mind--there was most likely a pirate hiding in her bushes! On the other hand, she was most likely just being rash and illogical. That aside, she would have her guards take a look at it if the movement continued. It never hurt to be careful, right?
