She was standing in the public square of the beautiful town, her icy blue eyes fixed on the crew of well-groomed British naval officers standing before her. They were some of the best men the British Empire could offer, but she still believed them to be incompetent and expendable. "Have the necessary provisions been gathered?" she asked.
The first mate of the crew nodded and gave his superior a quick salute. "Yes, ma'am. We have obtained replacement cannons and updated harpoons. The food supply has been replenished, as well."
Lady Bellamont smiled, but her crew couldn't see it because of the fan that always seemed to be covering her face. She very rarely allowed her friends or enemies to see her facial expressions. "Excellent. We will rest here for two weeks then depart. We have a schedule to keep."
