In an effort by the wizarding community to promote cultural
diversity and understanding, Hogwarts along with several other
wizarding schools across the globe have entered into an
international exchange program. This program allows young
witches and wizards of all nationalities to spend a semester abroad
studying and learning with peers of different backgrounds and
ethnic groups. We hope that this will instill a sense of unification
amongst the future leaders of our world and instill a sense of
understanding that while we all hail from different regions of
the world we are, at heart, one people.
OOC Note
The idea behind this exchange program is to allow some more
freedom in character creation (who doesn't love that?) and to
open the playing field up to more diverse characters. We will
only allow incoming students to be played and this is because
we are not going to make forums of all the other schools. So if
you have a character that is going to be an exchange student to
another school then that character simply gets taken out of play.
That being said we encourage members to make incoming
characters from around the world. Of course there are the two
given schools: Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. Feel free to
create your own and I will compile a list so check see if
someone else has already made a character from a school in
a country you wanted to use.
Lastly when it comes to houses these exchange students are given
the opportunity to stay in the house they feel will most suit them.
Your member group, however, will be 'exchange student' so we can
keep our numbers current. Thanks!
