To Even In Death, a unique and exciting post potter forum set in the year 2023. We consider ourselves to be advanced and literate and as a result we encouraged a minimum word count of three hundred [300] words. Please don't let that discourage you from joining as the members here at EiD know and understand that the only way to grow as a writer is to be around those that write well.
I know that you're going to find something here that you like. Whether or not that is enough to keep you with us is entirely at your discretion. If you do decide that EiD is the right place for you then we encourage you to begin the application process. If you decide it's not then we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors and hope you find a place that suits your needs.

SCENES -- So we want to introduce a new concept to Even In Death in the form of 'scenes'. Scenes are pre-made mini-plots that you can sign up for with your characters. They will typically tie into the special event we have going on at any given time. All we ask is that if you sign up for a scene, try to do it with characters yours might not normally interact with and try to restrict yourself to one scene per special event (if we have two special events you may sign up for two scenes). This way, everyone gets a chance to have fun. Scenes shouldn't start until all spaces are filled.

DIAGON ALLEY -- Tapping just the right brick in the wall behind the Leaky Cauldron in London will reveal an archway which is a portal into Diagon Alley, a long cobbled street there is to be found a strange and exciting assortment of shops and restaurants. It is unquestionably the hub of commerce in the British wizarding world, with virtually every wizarding business stationed there.

KNOCKTURN ALLEY -- Just around the corner from Diagon Alley lies a dark, twisting alleyway devoted to the Dark Arts: Knockturn Alley. The wares sold there are a bit dodgy and the wizards hanging around behave fairly suspiciously as well. From the shops and the street vendors one can purchase, among other things, shrunken heads, poisonous candles, human-looking fingernails, and Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent.

MINISTRY OF MAGIC -- The Ministry consists of numerous Departments (of which the Department of Magical Law Enforcement is the largest. All of the other departments are in some way answerable to it, with the possible exception of the Department of Mysteries.), Committees, Boards, and Offices whose job it is to make and enforce laws and regulations. Besides keeping the activities of Witches and Wizards hidden from the Muggles (and swooping in with Memory Charms when things get out of hand), the Ministry also handles commerce and international relations.

ST. MUNGOS HOSPITAL -- Founded in late 1500s or early 1600s by Mungo Bonham, St. Mungo's Hospital is the primary (and likely only) wizarding hospital in Britain. Located in an abandoned department store in London, the hospital's Healers treat wizards for all sorts of magic-related illnesses and injuries, and in extreme circumstances has been known to treat Muggles as well. The hospital's logo is a wand and a bone, crossed, and donations are welcome.

HOGSMEADE STATION -- A tiny, dark platform where the Hogwarts Express ends its journey north from Platform Nine-And-Three-Quarters. The station is located near the lake, and from there a road extends around the lake to Hogwarts Castle. The station is actually quite a distance from the town itself, being on the opposite side of the Hogwarts grounds.

VILLAGE OF HOGSMEADE the streets of the village itself. Hogsmeade is made up of a number of winding cross roads, small shops, inns, pubs and residential homes. The students of Hogwarts tend to stick close to the stores and shops though some still venture to take a peek at the mysteriously silent Shrieking Shack.

HONEYDUKE'S SWEETSHOP -- A sweetshop, owned by Ambrosius Flume and his wife, which is filled with shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable. In addition to the standard wizarding candy that is sold there, the owners also make their own fudge and chocolate. For obvious reasons, the shop is quite a popular destination for Hogwarts students when visiting Hogsmeade on the weekends. Down in the cellar of the shop, amidst the boxes and wooden crates and known to only a select few people, is a trap door in the dusty floor - which opens to reveal a secret passageway to Hogwarts.

MADAM PUDDIFOOT'S -- A small, cramped tea shop with decor on the tacky side of frilly (such as floating golden cherubs throwing pink confetti), located just off High Street. The only Hogwarts students who seem to patronize the place are trysting couples.

POST OFFICE -- The only wizarding post office we ever hear of, where at least three hundred owls, from Great Grays to tiny Scops ("Local Deliveries Only"), wait to carry messages. They sit on shelves that are color-coded, depending on how fast you want your letter to get to its destination. It is also referred to as an owl office.

THREE BROOMSTICKS -- A well-known inn and a frequent haunt of Hogwarts students. It's warm and comfortable, it is always packed and is a great spot to drink butterbeer, although they also serve firewhisky, gillywater, mulled mead, red currant rum, and even cherry syrup and soda with ice and an umbrella. The owner of the bar is Madam Rosmerta, who Ron enjoys watching.

ZONKO'S JOKE SHOP -- Zonko's is a favourite place for Hogwarts students to shop. They carry jokes and tricks to fulfill your wildest dreams, including Dungbombs, Hiccup Sweets, Frog Spawn Soap, and Nose-Biting Teacups.

HOGS HEAD INN -- Located a block or so off High Street, the Hog's Head Inn has been a fixture of Hogsmeade for hundreds of years. A worn-out wooden sign hangs over the door, advertising with a wild boar's severed head leaking blood onto the white cloth around it. It's known for its cheapness, at least relative to the Three Broomsticks down the street, and attracts a shall we say... interesting clientele, at least according to Albus Dumbledore. The bartender, for at least twenty years, has been Albus's brother, Aberforth Dumbledore.
