Largest dragons on Pern, Golds range from thirty-eight to forty-two meters in length and range from gold-green to pure yellow gold in color. Golds reign over all the other colors not just for their size, but because of their strong minds and wills. Queens keep the Weyr in order, weither there is Threadfall or not and it is their duty to keep track of the well-being of all the dragons and human residents of the Weyr. Unlike the other colors, Golds cannot chew firestone for it makes them infertile. Queens rise to mate two to three times a year and can produce clutches of ten to forty-eight eggs at a time. A fully mature Queen is around three Turns of age and a ready to mate Queen is around one to two Turns of age.

Second largest dragon on Pern, Bronzes range from thirty-five to thirty-eight meters in length and range from brownish-bronze to true bronze in color. Because of their size and strength, Bronzes are often become either Weyrleaders of the Wyer or Wingleaders of the Weyr's fighting wings. Bronzes help keep order and peace within the Weyr, either during Threadfall or times of peace. Most of the time Bronzes fly the Queens, producing larger clutches with higher chances of a queen egg being in the clutch. A fully mature and ready to mate Bronze is about one Turn of age.

user posted imageBrown Dragons: (Male Riders)

Third largest dragon on Pern, Browns range from thirty to thirty-five meters in length and range from light brown to dark chocholate brown. It is not uncommon for Browns to fly queens, but they produce smaller clutches and the clutch never produces a queen egg. Most Browns function as Wingleaders or Wingseconds in a Weyr's fighting wings. Browns are fully mature and ready to mate at the age of one Turn.

user posted imageBlue Dragons: (Male Riders)
Fourth largest dragon on Pern, Blues range from twenty-five to thirty meters in length and range from light sky blue to deep indigo in color. Blues usually fly greens, because they usually do not have the speed or stanima to fly queens and most likely, will not produce a clutch at all. Though more agile than the larger colors, Blues help out during Threadfall by catching stray clumps of Thread. When there are eggs on the hatching sands, Blues become very sensitive and can pick out the best candidates for the clutch. Blues are fully mature and ready to mate at the age of one Turn.

user posted imageGreen Dragons: (Male/Female Riders)
Smallest largest dragon on Pern, Greens range from twenty to twenty-meters in length and range from pale green to dark forest green in color. Greens can rise to mate four to five times per Turn and do not produce clutches because they chew firestone and the fact that they rise so often. Greens are very agile, but quite reckless and will tend to take risks the other colors would dare try. Greens are fully mature and ready to mate at the age of one Turn.
