Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, tallest in the United States, stands 208 feet from the bottom of the foundation to the peak of the roof. To reach the light, a Coast Guardsman must climb 268 steps. The lighthouse is fully open to the public, but please, don't try to carry a child all the way to the top.
