Yes, the kanji are the same as those on BC-48/DL4-100 Leviathan (Kairyu-Shin).
As noted elswhere, the Japanese Master Collection Volume.1 (MC1-JP) contains four (4) Secret Rare variant cards and one each of the eight (8) booster packs Soul of the Duelist (SOD-JP), Rise of Destiny (RDS-JP), Flaming Eternity (FET-JP), The Lost Millennium (TLM-JP), Beginner's Edition 1 (BE1-JP), Beginner's Edition 2 (BE2-JP), Expert Edition Volume.1 (EE1-JP) and Expert Edition Volume.2 (EE2-JP).
The variant cards will be MC1-JP001 Horus the Flame Dragon LV8 (SOD-JP008), MC1-JP002 The Creator (RDS-JP005), MC1-JP003 Sacred Phoenix of Nephtys (FET-JP005) and MC1-JP004, a TLM-JP card yet to be announced.
I expect that MC1-JP will be released in English as Master Collection Volume 3 (MC3-EN) at the end of the year, with a Master Collection Volume 2 (MC2-EN) containing PGD, MFC, DCR, IOC and AST cards and packs, which I expect to be released sometime in between.
That's only speculation on my part, of course, I think you'll find that it follows from what's already been announced...

UDE just released their first 2005 newletter. Among the points of interest: - Although the Ennetsu no Daichi (Burning Land) Structure Deck (SD3-JP) will be released on Wednesday, 20 January 2005 and the Ikari no Kairyu-Shin (Rage of Leviathan) Structure Deck (SD4-JP) will be released on Wednesday, 17 March 200, the English versions of those decks, Blaze of Destruction (SD3-EN) and Fury from the Deep (SD4-EN) will be released together in May 2005.
- The set after The Lost Millennium, which will ship in June 2005, will be Cyber Revolution, which will ship in August 2005. TLM won't be Tournament Legal until 1 July 2005, CRV won't be Tournament Legal until 1 October 2005.
- Dark Beginning 2 (DB2-EN) will ship in August 2005 and will be Tournament Legal immediately upon release, including any previously unreleased cards it may still contain. DB2 will ship a few weeks before CRV and the two shouldn't conflict, because the DB2 cards will be playable immediately and the CRV cards, as noted above, won't be playable until 1 October 2005.
- Dark Revelation Volume 1 (DR1-EN) will ship in March 2005 and Dark Revelation Volume 2 (DR2-EN) will ship in October 2005.
- The next round of Collector's Tins (CT2-EN) will ship in September 2005. No word regarding content.
- Master Collection Volume 2 (MC2-EN) will ship in November 2005. Again, no word regarding content.
Not bad for the first press release of the new year...
