Stranger to Life...

The trees screeched as the world twirled slowly in her eyes. Her ears stung from the ugly sound, and her head swirled from the dizziness. She couldn't stand still. She might as well lie down and sleep, knowing that no one else was in the land, except for Kite. She hadn't seen him in a while. The white male was always somewhere else, at least when she needed him the most. Her eyes blurred, and her head pounded. What was going on?

Everything seemed to be in the moving lines. Like bright lights that seemed to never stop. She stopped, catching her balance, her eyes closed, trying to focus. Calm down, Xenos, calm down... she told herself, over and over again in her head. Slowly and carefully, her eyes peeled open and the world seemed clearer and sharper. She could smell something wrong in the land. Something out of place, yet she had no clue what it was, and didn't really want to find out in her certain situation.

She blinked quickly, trying to keep her eye sight straight. She knew who must have done it. Humans. They always come to the wrong place, at the wrong time. But humans hadn't been in this land for centuries, and yet water seemed to always flow from one place. Her fish had tasted funny, as she recalled. Maybe she should have stopped eating, when her instincts told her too. She groaned loudly. This pain was killing her, inside out.

She lay down, breathing heavily. She wasn't going to die. All she had to do was work the fish out of her system. She could do it, she had the power to. Her inside organs started to work at once. The enemy was targeted and fought. It was a messy battle, that tormented her, but she stayed calm, as they healed her blood. Her father's powers truly came in handy once in a while. She smirked, as she lay there, looking like a sleeping beauty. The ebony wolf, closed her eyes, trying to forget the pain, forget that annoying noise.

Oh, he'd done a fine job. He'd kept attention away from himself for a while, pondering things that needed pondering... like if he really wanted a home or not, or if he wanted to follow these "gods of legend". Sure, it sounded good, to be protected by a god and serve a powerful one, but he wasn't one to believe in those kinds of things unless he saw them. But to bear witness to that kind of battle? Normally that would have frightened most and sent shivers down their spine. And, for this particular wolf, it did give him the creeps, but not because it gave him fear. It was because he would have loved to see it, the blood spilled, the heads that rolled... it would have been the greatest thing he'd ever seen by far.

However, he felt a hankering now to travel from his hiding spot, and that he did. He found a nice little forest to roam through... but it wasn't so nice after a while. The pine's scent stuck to him rather easily, and he despised it for doing so. It was rather strong, and probably wouldn't fade even if he jumped into water... although smelling like pine and wet fur would have been even worse. But, what bugged him the most was that annoying sound that continued to flow by his ears. That... that... whistling sound that persisted and persisted, unrelenting to his poor auds. He would have liked to chop down all of those stinkin' trees with some mystical ax or something of the sort, but he knew that no one would grant him such a power.

So, too far into the forest to turn around and go back, he continued forth on ebony paws. His crania, infected by white on the top half, turned from left to right as the two fire-like orbs swept across the area. No one yet. Was the land really that barren after all of that fighting? He couldn't smell the blood... or maybe he was just so used to it that it eluded him. It wasn't really an issue, for something else struck his nose like a bulldozer. Another wolf's scent... or, to be exact, a wolfess. He wasn't too keen with those of the female gender, but soon realized that he was closer than he thought he was, and caught a glance of her. He halted his movement, and narrowed those now burning orbs. He had half of a mind to pounce upon her and rip out her throat, but that wasn't very gentlemanly, was it? Instead, he settled for attempting to step around her, but whether his steps were all that silent would soon be up to the femme's ears.

Stranger to Life...

She wasn't really in pain anymore. The insides were healing slowly, not taking up a lot of her power, and making her relax. There was no rush after all. She could take all the time she needed. Or so her mind thought so. Her instincts told her otherwise, wanting to speed up the process, just in case. They had a way of being right a lot. What was different this time? They were always the same, afterall.

Just turned out, that her instincts were right. Her head raised, her eyes opened, and she stared at the feet of a wolf. Her healing quickly accomplished its work, and she jumped to her feet. It had been a while since she had seen anyone else but Kite. She stared at the black male. His face covered in white. She, herself black all over, but with shades of white and red. She like it more like that.

He seemed to want togo around her. Her gleaming yellow eyes watched him, silently. She wasn't sure how to react. She was extremely puzzle by the appearance of some new wolf. "And you are?" she asked after a minute. She stood relaxed, and yet her body was alert, ready to move. Everything that needed to be done to keep her safe was done, in her own ways.Simple and Plain.

She smiled softly at him. He was a fine male, it would seem. Anti-social maybe. She wasn't sure how to be around this new figure that now appeared in her world. She was so used to the same things. It has been two years since she had seen anyone but Kite. And now stood before her, in an unexpected moment, a new wolf. It was ironic. She had been thinking about new people a lot, lately, and now someone to ruin the peace of her empty home had come.

Damn. He was aware that it wouldn't be easy, but he didn't think she'd wake up just like that. As she rose, he moved back so he might put distance between them, not wanting at all to be close. His orbs flared, and met her golden ones, narrowing unhappily as he saw and heard her speak. "Someone you do not need to know." It was a rather simple answer to a rather simple question. He did not want to be known in this land, and yet, he had just shown himself by accdient. Whoops.

He must have seemed strange, then. How ever much he wanted to leave, he did not wish to go near her to go around, for he really wouldn't have known where he was going anyway. He'd lost the sense of direction he had when he became preoccupied with avoiding the female, so he was basically stuck. The mostly ebony brute wanted out, and soon, for that whistling was bound to make him go mad.

There you have it. Her instincts right again. For some odd reason, she seemed to be somewhat happier. But everything else screamed to he, this will be the end of peace in the land. She knew it was so, but she had no right to kick him out the land. It wasn't her position. It was no one's. The gods were on vacation, and she and Kite had no power. No nothing. All they had was each other to keep company, and that was about it. The land flourished with animals, that seemed to never mind the two wolves, and it bugged her.

She nodded to his answer. Nothing to be said, or done. He was either really mean, or just extremely tough on the outside. She wasn't sure which one it was, but since when did she care about strangers that were rude. Never. She watched him blankly. Her face full of the look saying "I could care less if you don't want me to know you..". Something seemed to be on his nerve. She could understand that, the trees and the wind created a very annoying noise in the Pines. Well that's what the name is for, Whistling Pines.

She wasn't really sure what to do. He seemed to be the type of person, who was self-centered. But that was nothing she could conclude in this little time. She relaxed herself, and breathed evenly. Unsure what to think of the situation.

This confrontation could have been easily ended right there. Just turn his back on this femme and walk away. Simple, right? But, for the first wolf he'd seen for a while, it might have been a bad idea to do so. It would have been a better idea to befriend her and then gain any information that he could... well, that was rather hopeless. He really didn't know how to act around the opposite gender, but in truth he didn't care.

"There aren't many of us here, are there?" It was so hilarious in his head, how he had suddenly denied any chance of a conversation, and then jumped right back into it. Was the whistling of the trees really affecting his mind that much? Well, it really didn't matter all that much. He'd always considered himself a little bit looney in the head, so what he did was never usual. One second he wouldn't say a word, and then he'd burst into colourful words that held no meaning. How this other wolfess would react... well... who knew?

Waiting in the noise was truly annoying. Would he say something or not? What was his purpose here? There was nothing of importance in that information for her. For an alpha maybe, but she wasn't an alpha. She didn't control these lands with a firm rule, or not so firm. Whichever, it didn't matter. The point was she didn't own the lands.

Some change of heart apparently from the male. She almost turned her back, almost turned away from a wolf. A new one for that. "There aren't many, why do you ask?" she replied, calmly. Either it was a slap in the face, or a very strangly mooded wolf. Personally, she thought it was both. But it didn't matter. She could talk to someone. Someone that wasn't Kite, not that she didn't like the white wolf, just wanted to meet different people for once.

Talk about strangly mooded. One moment she despised the idea of new wolves coming, and the next...she wants more. Xenos was truly screwed up in the head. "What's your name by the way?" she asked him, trying to overthrow the buzz in her ears. The Pines weren't her favorite place, they were the EXACT opposite. The fresh smell, and the whistle just made her go insane. Not that it really mattered, because being alone with one other wolf for two years, would drive anyone crazy.

Not many... Well, that was all good and fine by him. Not many wolves provided him with space, and that he liked very much. He could roam any land he pleased without running into too much resistance or having to say a word to anyone. Indeed, something he quite liked... at least that was one good thing about this stupid hunk of rock he roamed upon.

The twin fires that were his eyes focused back upon her as she spoke to him again. Previously, they had wandered off to glance at the forest... the tune had suddenly become lonely to his auds. A feeling he could sing along with them. "It's T4. I know. Strange." The brute almost didn't remember her question. The infernos died down into a small ember as he sank back into the song the trees were now creating, actually finding them comforting rather than annoying. Yup. He'd gone insane again. "And your name?"

Stranger to Life...

She was getting bored, and yet now that he had shown some interest in her, she seemed to care more about the presence of the stranger. And yet she wasn't sure that his presence would be welcomed by Kite, or her father, or aunt for that matter. They all seemed somewhat protective. She almost shrugged, but kept herself straight. Her face calm and collected, but inside the thought almost made her want to break down the tree and block out the sun. He seemed like a nice wolf...Or so it began to seem as he told his name.

"An interesting name..any reason for it?" she replied, curious. Though it might ruin the chance with her to speak to him, but who cared, there was only Kite left in the land. She smiled softly "Xenos..." she said slowly. Her golden eyes watched his fiery ones. He made a weird wolf, his face white while the rest of him was black. And yet he attracted her attention, since Kite didn't, and T4 and Kite were the only males she knew that weren't a god.

The wind blew softly, but the whistle didn't cease. For once would this forest ever shut up?
