It is 1942, three years after the beginning of WWII. Wizards, unchanged for centuries, are now more sensitive to the kind of magic they blissfully avoided for so long - that which builds airplanes and bombs, and abolishes tradition. War has never been so difficult to ignore. London is a city strangled with propellers and guns, and Grindelwald sifts through the ashes of Europe performing his "greater good."

The Hogwarts castle, however, offers sanctuary; students see these strange turmoils of the world through a glazed window, like observing winter from inside a warm parlor. Classes carry on as they always have, speckled with the usual seasonal excitements: feasts, quidditch matches, and an ill-advised student play. But deep beneath the dungeons stirs a new danger, the likes of which are as old as the walls themselves. The greatest threat, they will soon find, is nothing less than Salazar Slytherin's last parting gift. "All who behold its eyes
fall dead upon the spot..."

What we offer IC

-exciting site-wide events! currently, there is a MUGGLE APPRECIATIONS WEEK in which students must camp out in tents, magicless, for a week - learning how to use muggle appliances in the meantime. in addition, the upcoming halloween dance is sure to be fun as well, especially with the mandatory costume requirement for attendees!
-your fair pick of crazy cool canons like Dolores Umbridge, Tom Riddle, Rubeus Hagrid, Cornelius Fudge and Moaning Myrtle, to name only a few
-mountains of wanted ads and plots premises to choose from
-the Riddle Gang, the most badass kids ever and the first death eaters
-a student coalition against Grindelwald led almost frat-style by arrogant and elitist Gryffindors
-a herbology teacher who starts a student play (it's canon!)
-school newspaper with rumor mill, advice column, debate corner, etc.
-a hufflepuff gang notorious for getting into physical fights
-quidditch rivalries/romances, prankster group, gobstones team, slug club, philosophy meets, the nerd squad, and more!

What we offer OOC:

-a completely friendly and welcome atmosphere, without elitism or cliques
-lots of plotting and immediate inclusion
-active member base, averaging 80-100 posts a day
-consistent forum, going strong for six months now
-character-driven storyline, with emphasis on input from members
-a near invisible but extremely active staff
-a site geared toward actual writing and plotting over graphics (though we still like aesthetics!)
