Having been watching the other rather anxiously, even after he looked away, John eyed him for some change in expression. He was soon picking at his sleeve and shuffling nervously, if only because Foras was, as apparently was habit, unreadable. He was delighted, however, to hear his eventual reply, and split in to a smile again - without self-consciousness this time. Arms dropping from their position across his chest, he pushed one through his hair and rested the other against the desk for a slight lean as he eyed the drawing himself. "Thank you. That's alright, then?" he asked after a pause.

"Yes, of course," he replied, still glancing over the sketch and only belatedly pulling his eyes away to look back up at John. The damned smile nearly prompted one of his own, but he smoothed the expression before it dared to show its face, and he took a moment to watch him look at the sketch before he decided that this was unfortunately creepy. "Is that all for today?" Was what came out of his mouth, which caused an odd duality of emotion within him - relief and disappointment.

Uncertain if he was in a rush and uncomfortable asking, as was becoming a common factor of their interactions, John paused for a moment and resisted the urge to fidget with his bandage. "Yes, I think so," he replied after a few moments, thoughtfully. "I could clean it up over the weekend and, um..." John paused again, thinking for a moment before deciding that it would be better to (again) let Foras decide a time and a day. "We could meet sometime next week to - finally start painting if you've got the time," he managed, again offering a smile he hoped seemed polite.

Nodding and trying to convince himself (with, admittedly, some good success) that it was a good thing for their meeting to end here, he withdrew his organiser in much the same fashion as he had last time he'd had something to note down.
"Would the same time and place be acceptable?" He questioned, politely and hoping that he was leaving plenty of room for John to refuse if it was going to be against his own timetable. There was little chance of him being able to fit it in on a different day, of course, but he was willing to try. For no particular reason.

Watching with slightly more veiled interest than he had int he past, finding himself rather impressed that he was keeping such a detailed schedule so late into the year, John glanced away. Privately, he found himself wondering if he kept the thing year-round; he certainly seemed the type, and honestly, he thought he might envy him that a little. As far as organization went, John was rather a hopeless case.

"Yes, I'm free," he answered after a few moments of thought, nodding slightly. "If I can find it twice." He almost regretted the joke a moment later, but didn't make any effort to dampen his slight smile anyway.

"Well, we could meet and walk together, if you're concerned," he replied, an innocent note of courtesy that wouldn't have been out of place in any other conversation. It was only only here that it felt like he had some ulterior motive, and he attempted to quash; though he'd glanced up to float the idea, now he glanced down again, finishing pencilling him in and fighting the compulsion to be embarrassed.

"Sure," he answered, sounding noticeably more grateful and sincere than people usually did when they said 'sure'. The idea struck him as a good one, mostly because he was only half-joking about getting lost - but, admittedly, also partially because he found himself enjoying Foras' company the more time they spent together. "Where are you coming from?" he asked a few moments later, not bothering to look at his book as he asked. "Because I've got another free period."

"Transfiguration," he replied, promptly, eyes only flicking back to his diary as a natural gesture; the answer came before he'd possibly had a chance to look. What sort of person would he be, after all, if he didn't already have his basic timetable memorised? The fact the other had a free period, too, was marked down in some mental kind of diary, but fortunately for the both of him he was only semi-conscious of it. Wilful ignorance was a talent of his. "You could meet me outside?"
